Haooy Birhday for tomorrow ABF. Do you have anything nice planned? What I wouldn't give to be 27 again!! Is the Op planned for soon? Is it going to make a big difference for you?

Standing seems to be a dangerous game for Catherine. Today she's sporting a bruise on her forehead which she did yesterday and another on her cheek that she did this morning! I am looking after her honest, she still seems to be managing to damage herself though.

I've had some bad news tonight. Mum's just rung to say that Grandad has been diagnosed with Cancer. He's got advanced Dementia too and is too frail to survive any treatment so they're going to send him back to his nursing home (he's been in hospital since just before Christmas) and make him comfortable until the end. The doctors have given him a couple of months. Part of me is relieved as he's not been 'Grandad' for a long time now and he would hate what he's become but obviously I'm also sad. I'll have no Grandparents left at all once he's gone Sad

Haooy? Confused Sorry

Happy Birthday :)

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/01/2011 21:07

Haooy Birhday is so much more interesting than the generic "happy birthday" Nothing planned. Paul did take us all out for lunch at the OK Diner near Cannock, which is a big treat for me because I absolutely love it there and it takes about an hour to drive there!

Im sorry to hear about your Grandad. I hope they can keep him comfortable and pain free for as long as possible.

There has been very little accidents when it comes to elizabeth's balance, a few tumbles but so far no bruises.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 12/01/2011 22:19

Continuing the trend set by Blathers, Hazzy Birthday for tomorrow ABF! Your new hair cut sounds very exciting! Are you pleased with it?
Sorry to hear about your grandad Blathers. :( Hope it's not too bad for him or for you all.

We are ok. Anna's been a bit unsettled again this week at nursery, but has improved as the week's gone on. The nursery nurses think she's getting another tooth, probably a molar Confused. Thought they wouldn't come until right at the very end, but a Blathers said above, who knows!?! she has 4 at the top and 3 at the bottom (sound like carol vorderman! :) )

Off to soft play tomorrow and then swimming again on friday so should be a couple of nice days. and we are away this weekend, visiting my family that we didn't see at christmas, so that should be good.

I wondered about pillows and suchlike too. We use sleeping bags, but once they're over 18 months, do they start using a quilt??

Happy birthday ABF, hope you have a nice day.

Sorry to hear about your grandad blathers.

Ethelred, that sounds like a lovely few days you have planned.

We've finally got a new car seat for Imogen, so she'll be facing forward when we go out later today. I hope she likes it!

I don't really want to tyoe it, but her sleep is brilliant at the moment - she is generally going from 7 to 7/7.30 and I feel like a different person. Obviously we have the odd bad night, but I am enjoying it while it lasts. I do feel a bit guilty though for being so excited about it as all my nct friends who have babies that slept through ages ago, now have awful sleepers! I guess it's all swings and roundabouts.

Gosh, only 27 Ferret - hope you had a good day.

Plenty of bumps, bruises and bloody noses with Conrad, who has taken to climbing on the low stools we have so his big brother can reach things. Sitting's OK, but the standing up is rather fraught if I'm not concentrating 100%

Sleep's still not good (I'm very envious Hercules) - I think he might be too hot so will try PJs tonight instead of an all-in-one. DS1 is sleeping much better, but having had a couple of weeks of dry nights over Christmas, he's relapsed, which is a shame.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 14/01/2011 19:19

Thanks everyone for my "happy Birthdays" and all other versions of.

Blatherskite · 16/01/2011 19:18

Just thought I'd sign in and say hi. Has everyone had a nice weekend?

HerculesPoirot · 16/01/2011 19:35

Hello! Lovely weekend thanks Blathers. Dh has an ear infection so was off work mon/tues last week it didn't clear up so he had to go back on friday so ended up with friday off work too which make for a long weekend for us which was nice. He can't hear properly and gets a bit tired, but doesn't have much pain so he had fun playing with Imogen!

I am scared of writing this down for fear of jinxing it, but last week Imogen slept through every single night except Friday - she now usually goes from 7 pm until about 7/7.30 in the morning. This morning however, she woke up about 7.15, chatted to herself, played with her mobile, chatted to herself some more for ages. At 8.30 I thought I'd go and get her and went into her room to find her fast asleep again and then she slept unil 9.20!!!! Lovely sunday lie in, although I think probably a one off fluke!!!

When is your op ABF?

Hope you all had nice weekends too! Must go and do some marking - boo.

sparklycheerymummy · 16/01/2011 23:14

HI guys am off work this week as I have had surgery to reconstruct the damage my darling 10lb 11oz son did. I only went to hopsital on 10th Dec and have already been done......will prob be on here a bit more this week unless I try doing housework or ebaying!!!!

ds had his 12 and 13 month jabs in one go instead of 2 seperate ones and was a little grotty but ok.......has anyone else had them together. It was 3 injections!!

sparklycheerymummy · 16/01/2011 23:15

oh and toby has learnt to spin round in circles nad is therefore covered in bruises!!!!!

BlueChampagne · 17/01/2011 12:51

I've got a lousy cold, so grateful I'm no longer BFing and can prop myself up with Sudafed and Lemsip! Had a good time visiting friends at the weekend but suspect Conrad may have some of my germs too. He was very sorry for himself yesterday but brighter this morning, so sent him to nursery and hope not to get a phonecall!

Envy to all you ladies getting some sleep!

We're off for our 13 month jabs in a second. Have had such a lovely morning too so it seems such a shame. I took Catherine to her first swimming lesson (which she loved) so MIL picked Alex up from Pre-school and has had him all afternoon. Catherine and I have played and had such fun. I really don't want to take her now Sad

BlueChampagne · 17/01/2011 16:14

We are booked for 13 month jabs tomorrow but suspect Conrad won't be well enough and we'll have to postpone. I thought we got them all in one go too but seem to have had 2 reminders ... need to get them out and compare them.

Blatherskite · 17/01/2011 21:42

Catherine screamed when she had her jabs today Sad and she's been fairly miserable ever since. Gave her a dose of Calpol before bed and am hoping that she's back to her happy little self tomorrow. Poor baby.

She's been fine with the others but these ones really affected her.

Oh no. Please tell me she was ok that night and the next day. Imogen has jabs on Thursday, not sure which ones or if all of them though...

Blatherskite · 18/01/2011 19:45

The Calpol definitely helped. She slept well last night and has been fine today. She's got a teeny bruise on one arm but it doesn't seem to be bothering her and as Lee says, it's a lot better than getting one of those awful diseases.

We've had a manic day today. Alex was a school this morning while we came home so Catherine could nap, then we had Catherine's 1 year check (which she aced :) Back up to the 2nd percentile line which was the one she always stuck to so they're happy and I don't have to take her to be weighed anymore!! HV even said I had lovely children and was doing a good job with them and she told me that Bookstart has been saved so they won't be stopping the packs which is great news) then lunch, then Alex's swimming lesson!!! She was so tired by swimming that she slept through the whole lesson in her car seat. Thank goodness she still fits.

BlueChampagne · 19/01/2011 13:16

No jabs for us - antibiotics instead! Conrad's got his second chest infection in a month. And now his big brother is complaining about a sore throat and ear. Should buy shares in Calpol.

Whiskey! Good Lad Grin Hope the visit goes smoothly.

Hope Conrad gets better soon too Blue. It's so horrible when they're poorly.

Catherine has her bookstart pack. She's loving the paper pad and crayons but we've already got both of the books! One of them is called Animal Boogie which is a great book but our original one came with a CD with the music on. Can't imagine it's so much fun just to read? So glad the funding is back though, Alex had been looking forward to his Pirate chest but isn't due to get it until later this year, after what was supposed to be the end of Bookstart. He loves Pirates :)

HerculesPoirot · 20/01/2011 19:28

Lee, that made me giggle. Imogen is always helping us here, usually rearranging DVDs or helping unpack a bag i'm trying to pack!

Jabs went well today really, two in one leg and one in the other. She calmed down quickly, went home, played, had lunch, then sleep for three hours! Brilliant! Gave her some calpol just before bed as she seems to have been teething last couple of days so just in case...

Blathers, where did you get the second bookstart pack from btw?
