Oh I have good news I forgot! Confused

I bought a house today! It is amazing. Just what we wanted, In a quiet area with huge woods pretty much on our doorstep. Garage, 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, utility, office so Paul can work from home plus the loft is all done out aswell!

Plus it is an end plot so there is potential for extension on the side if needed.

Im soooo excited, just need to get the dreaded effing operation over and done with and we will be in!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 28/01/2011 23:12

Aha you replied whilst I was typing. Im thinking of starting a thread alerting everyone to your great new idea. Wink Grin

Another one here that would like to put an early order in for the baby tether :o. Remember us all when you're a millionaire Lee!! ha ha ha!

Had a great time at Punt and Dennis, they were really funny. Is ages since we've been out to anything like that and we just laughed so much. Then had my hair cut on sat. Have had it cut in a really short bob, so still getting used to it, but think i do like it (good job!) Sat evening we went to our friends' and stayed over. she cooked us a lovely meal and i had quite bit of wine, so had a terrible hangover today. worst i have had since anna was born i think. grim.

When we got back this afternoon, A and i stayed outside to play with some of the other LOs who live on our street. she was doing really well toddling about until she somehow tripped over herself and really bumped her head. we had a few tears and she has a big pink mark on her nose and a little bruise on her forehad, but she was soon up and about again afterwards. this will be the start of all the cuts and bruises i suppose!

Great news on the house ABF! That is brilliant. Really hope your op goes well too. Not much longer to wait now.

Jabs went well. Just a few tears, but since then she's been pretty good all weekend thank goodness.

Oh and well done Imogen!!

HerculesPoirot · 30/01/2011 21:23

That sounds like a lovely weekend Ethelred, well except the hangover obviously!

DH is away again for the week, he left this morning, so just me and Imogen for the week then. I am sure there are more teeth coming, there is drool, fingers and things in mouth all the time, slight temperatuer and lots of crying randomly during the day! I sincerely hope they are through by thursday and friday when I'm not at work.

We went to my god-daughters 2nd birthday tea today and Imogen slipped and cut her lip, cue lots of blood and crying as she had only just got brave enough to get off my lap in her sadness due to her teeth! Anyway, she stuffed down some chocolate cake and that cheered her up (along with the calpol of course) so fingers crossed for the night.

ABF - at least the end is in sight, hope you manage to focus on your lovely new house in the meantime, it sounds fab!

I think if just a slight cold, yes, but can't be sure. Mayb ring to check and save wasted journey just incase?

Blatherskite · 31/01/2011 07:51

I think they'll still do the jabs as long as he doesn't have a temperature Lee. BEst to ring and check though.

Grandad died last night. Such a relief that it's all over even if I am heartbroken that he's gone. The past week has been awful. I'm nobodies Granddaughter anymore Sad

HerculesPoirot · 31/01/2011 11:03

Oh Blathers I am so sorry for your loss, it is so difficult even if you know they are at peace now. You will always be their granddaughter and how lovely he got to meet his great-grandchildren. I am work, but just wanted you to know I am thinking of you - big hug.

BlueChampagne · 31/01/2011 12:37

Very sorry about your news Blathers. Big hugs from here too.

Lee - I'm sure I've seen something along your tether lines in our local Folk Museum! Get to work on that patent application...

Very Envy about the house ABF. Would love a bit more room so we could have people to stay more easily. And to get away from our mad neighbour who wakes us up in the night shouting. But cuts at work so doesn't seem a good time to be doing anything except dreaming about it.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 31/01/2011 13:27

Just a quick message from me as at work.

Really sorry to hear about your grandad Blathers. Hercules is right though, you will always be their granddaughter. Thinking of you. xxx

Thanks for all the message everyone. I'm doing OK, expected to be tearful but am actually a little numb, I guess that'll change when it sinks in though.

Family seem to be falling apart a bit. I think seeing Grandad in those last few days has really affected them.

Is it tomorrow you go into hospital ABF? Good luck with the op. Hope it all goes well and you're back home and feeling better soon.

We used to have one of those tether things for our Dog. If you combined the ground spike with a parasol stand, that'd solve the shade/rain issue. Maybe one of those Rabbit water bottles for a drink too? Wink

HerculesPoirot · 01/02/2011 19:14

Hi Blathers, how are you feeling today? I hope your family are doing OK as well.

Still not much more walking going on here, although she is starting to put her hand out to make you take her somewhere she wants to go now and can walk well just holding one hand. It is very funny, I can already see how I am going to be bossed about in the very near future. My younger brothers say it will be payback!!!

Blatherskite · 01/02/2011 21:38

I'm OK thank you Hercule. Kept myself busy today. I took Catherine to the Song and Rhyme time at the library while Alex was at pre school which she enjoyed. We got her a library card and borrowed some books too :)

This afternoon we've baked a cake and taken Alex to his swimming lesson so I've not had time to mope which is good.

I have had a mini panic about what I'm going to wear to the funeral though. I haven't been to one since my Grandma's 11 years ago and I have no idea what to wear!!

Sorry to hear about your Grandad Blathers. Thinking of you. xx

The last funeral I went to was a friends, I wore a dull metal coloured dress with black tights and cardigan.

Just having some peace and quiet before I have to go into work. Fecking delivery day reeeeallly dont want to do it because it's only me and the manager in and he is a lazy arse.

Going London this weekend, Roller Derby and lots of drinking. Cant wait!

Blatherskite · 02/02/2011 21:20

I've found this in Next online. Does it look OK? Might nip over to the city center while A is at Pre school tomorrow and see if they've got any - and if they have, if it looks good on. I figured with thick black tights and some low heels it could look OK.

Next problem is that I don't own a nice black coat. No money to buy one though so I'll have to make do with my brown one.

Your weekend sounds fun ABF. Never been to a roller derby. Did a lot of ice skating as a teenager though which I guess might be close?

HerculesPoirot · 03/02/2011 09:14

Blathers I think that looks like a lovely dress. I wouldn't worry about not having a black coat at all. When is the funeral?

ABF, that sounds like a mad fun weekend!

BlueChampagne · 03/02/2011 12:41

Blathers - could you borrow a coat from a friend if you'd rather have a black one? However, I'm sure no-one will mind a brown one. It depends what you feel most comfortable in. Hope it all goes OK and you get to remember the good times rather than the last days.

Just wishing here that Conrad would spend the whole night in his own bed! He slept from 8 till 2.30pm last night but then I spent over an hour trying to get him back to sleep in his cot, failing, and having to take him into our bed. Had allowed DH out for the evening to go to the pub with friends, so he was no help, and I just ended up getting frustrated; was still in a lousy mood this morning.

Blatherskite · 03/02/2011 22:05

Not sure I know anyone who's about my size... Hmmm, will have a think and maybe ask. Otherwise, brown should be OK for just the graveside bit. We'll be inside for the rest.

The funeral is next Friday - the 11th.

Catherine has been an absolute star today. I've been trying to change her nap routine so that she sleeps past 5.20am. I've been taking her out in the mornings to keep her occupied and so far, it does seem that the naps were more habit than need as she seems perfectly happy to miss them while she's busy. I'm trying to get her to miss her morning nap and have a slightly longer one in the afternoon instead. It almost worked yesterday, no nap until 1pm but she then only slept for half an hour - today she did much better. She stayed awake and happy while we shopped for a dress fo me (couldn't find one, have ordered online) but fell asleep on the drive home and wouldn't be roused for Alex pickup so slept in the pushchair too. She probably had almost half an hour. But at 2pm, she went down for a nap and had an hour and a half!! Hoping for another good morning...or maybe even a better one fingers crossed

That extra hour in bed is making me feel so much better. I even managed Zumba class tonight.

I hope Conrad sleeps better for you soon Blue
