Hope your headache is better now Lee.

I seem to be finding less and less to keep me interested on MN at the moment. I hoping it changes soon

MrsHerculePoirot · 07/01/2012 21:27

Hello! I am away this weekend, will be back soon though...

Tbh, I rarely come on now. Lacey was 2 on the 30th. Out of interest, can your dc count to ten? Lacey does, and I've forgotten when they do

MrsHerculePoirot · 08/01/2012 17:57

Not unless you are allowed to count like 'one two four six twelve four two seven ten'!!!

How is everything with you scorps?

Scorps · 08/01/2012 19:06

I think it's because the others have drummed it into her, to make her be the one to count for hide and seek so they get to hide!

Yep everything's going ok thankyou, Divorce came through beginning of December and felt like a weight had been lifted. Just pottering on with life now really!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 08/01/2012 21:14

Hi Scorps, glad to hear everything is going alright for you. Anna can almost count to 10, but WILL NOT say 7!!! It's always 5, 6, 8, 9, 10!!!!Confused. Is funny really.
TMI ALERT!!!
had an 'oh my god anna' moment today. Anna and I were going to a party this aft and we were getting ready at the last min before we needed to set off. I was ironing my clothes in the room and she was on the potty in the downstairs loo. I was a few mins, but not long. DH came in from outside and was like 'oh no Anna, what have you done?' and she had had a poo and then got the poo out and rubbed it all over her legs and body. Oh my god, it was disgusting, she looked like she'd had a mud bath. Gross. Hmm hope no one's having their tea! Grin

Blatherskite · 08/01/2012 21:20

Catherine's close to being able to count to 10 but she misses the odd number out here and there too.

She totally not interested in potty training though. DS was getting very upset at being dirty at this age and asking to be trained but she's really not bothered. We get her to sit on the loo at bath time and she really tries to wee (has even managed it twice) but she refuses to sit on the potty at all. She's also still in 12-18 month clothes and knickers are going to be a nightmare to find so maybe it's for the best :) I bought her a new potty book last week as I wondered whether it was the fact that it was all boys in the other ones that wasn't engaging her but while she likes reading it, it doesn't seem to have inspired her.

Hi Scorps :)

Noah can count to ten. He appears to have a particularly liking of numbers and can recognise them all up to ten and then some others such as some teens, 20, 50 and 100. Ethel - He used to miss 1 out when he counted! I would say to DH that he would never get this maths thing sorted if he thought numbers started with 2, it would just completely mess up every calculation :o
Where are they supposed to be with letters? He can recognise quite a few of them, but I am totally confused as to what I am supposed to do with letter names vs. letter sounds, and end up mixing and matching Blush Poor kid's going to be totally confused by the time he learns to read...

Ethel - that is a bit disgusting, but an excellent story to tell her friends when she's older Wink
Makes me grateful that we haven't really started potty training yet, we've got a toilet seat and he sits on there after a bath and will do a wee but no poo yet. I'm not pushing it though as don't really want to get into it properly until the summer :)

I have been on mn a bit more since DH bought me an Ipod touch for christmas, but I don't like typing on it very much so even though I read the thread a fair bit, I tend to wait until I'm on my laptop, so I'm sorry about the lack of replies lately! We'll need a new thread soon though :o

Claire236 · 08/01/2012 21:34

Hello all. Don't know if anyone remembers me as I was on here when I was pregnant & have made the odd random reappearance since. Always seem to return when having probs in RL then go again when things settle down so you might well remember me for always complaining, hope not mind you.

Don't feel inadequate - Imogen can't count, doesn't know any letters and says everything is green when you ask her. I think she just says it to shut me up when I ask her. I sort of assumed she'd just pick it up all in her own time tbh. She's usually too busy bossing everyone about to learn anything I reckon!!! Perhaps I am being slack?

Claire I remember you as my name is Claire too - don't remember you complaining though! How is everything with you?

Scorps · 09/01/2012 10:00

Lacey doesn't know colours, and the potty is still a hat/baby doll bed Hmm

Tbh, i think it's the other DC that taught her Grin

Catherine is OK with colours but will opt for Yellow if she's not sure :)

LifeOfKate · 09/01/2012 21:35

Lee - I absolutely agree, they will all do everything in their own time, I assume we can all read and that you wouldn't know when we started knowing letters/numbers/colours! (Although I am still rubbish at maths, so I assume numbers weren't up there for me Blush)

Blathers - Noah likes saying yellow too, i think he thinks it's a nice word to say :o

Claire: I'm not sure I remember you as I only came onto the thread properly about a year ago, but welcome back anyway :)

We really should start a new thread :o Am hinting for someone else to do it as I'm rubbish at thinking up witty thread names! :o

Blatherskite · 09/01/2012 21:52

December 2009 - Let the terrible twos begin??

She's been good today but she can be a little madam when she wants to be

LifeOfKate · 09/01/2012 22:15

Ooo, that's a good one Smile

Noah seems to have gone from an easy going baby to mr devil at times virtually the second he turned 2 Hmm
