A starter for 10 on our Sept 2010 babies as their first Christmas comes nearer! Can't believe we're there already; I was barely pregnant last Xmas!

ARGH, just lost long post!

Was saying that Jacob wears a bib nearly 24/7. He pukes everywhere- the floor has got it, the couch, chairs, bed, cot, me, DP, DD, Isobel, and even MIL got it down her cleaverage on xmas day whilst wearing a gorgeous wrap around dress. (oops)
I'm the sort of person who doesn't medicate easy either clumsy. He doesn't seem to mind, although the washing is killing me too. Plus he has started to only poo once a day and it is explosive, so that's another change of clothes. But the sick is better than it was, and i'm hopping it will die off even more as time goes on.

Monstermuncher · 07/01/2011 14:09

wow this thread moves so fast ..

Had a rubbish night's sleep, Sam wouldn't settle at all. Beadit I am v envious. Have been on my own for past 2 days and nights as hubby is away with work and I'm absolutley shattered. I seriously don't know how anyone manages this on their own, hats off to you.

I like the names changes Mumsnetters formerly known as Park and Skye, I really should change mine too. I was slightly obsessed with monster munch when pregnant but I haven't been near them since giving birth.

MammyG what a lovely idea, a day off after Christmas (sigh)

Hi : ) not had chance to catch up yet. Maria-Ann was taken into hospital sun night with breathing difficulties and not feeding. They check her sats and they were 90 so immedialey put her on oxygen. They checked her chest and found she had fluid on her right lung. They decided 2 put a feeding tube insitu as in 24hrs all she managed was 7oz. I hav never felt so scared or helpless in my life. She stayed on the panda unit 24hrs then got transfered to a different hospital. She was later diagnose with broncolitis. She had 2 hav 2hrly nebs and 3hrly feeds through her feeding tube. I stayed the nights and my O/H stayed during the day. Everyday the would try 2 decrease the oxygen and then they turned it off but she would rapidly desat so it was switched back on. Her cot had to be upright as when she lay down she would choke. Thursday morning soon came and she manange with out oxygen and she was taking 2oz by bottle. We couldnt believe the change in her, that day she smiled at me for the first time in over a week my heart melted. Thursday night i got to bring my little girl home. Over night she has managed 6oz, ive been watching her breath all night. She still has a cough but she is improving. Love u Maria-Ann 15wks plus 3 x x

JessemyParkson · 07/01/2011 14:13

Hi sassy thanks for the welcome :)

DH and I are thinking about another, as we don't want Mary growing up without a close sibling.

There's a 7yr gap between DS and Mary and we had quite a few jealousy-related issues over the holidays, even though we tried to balance the attention between them. He's always been centre of attention up till now.

DH had a heart-to-heart with DS after a performance any hormone-riddled teenager would be proud of!

Biggest issue is that we live in a tiny 2 bed coach-house, and we're all treading on each other's toes. I think we'll be moving in the next 6 months...!

JessemyParkson · 07/01/2011 14:16

Oh poor you watersprite

Thinking of both you and Maria-Ann x

clumsymumluckybaby · 07/01/2011 14:25

wow,i do hope maria is feeling better...scared the hell out of me,ive just phoned the doctors for an emergancy app for arlo,as im now to frightened to wait till tomorow!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/01/2011 14:25

I have left overs too newmum001 and sandwiches, bagels, pitta, jacket potatoes.

First 8 weeksbeaditAli? Try first 6 months!!!!! Ds1 was a nightmare! I was ready again when he was 18 months but dh wanted to wait for financial reasons. This time I'm ready again now, shows what a different baby and a few years more experience can do. No gap is perfect you just have to go with what suits you. I was extremely miserable from when ds1 was 18 months and when I found I was pregnant especially as every woman I saw seemed to be pregnant, hormones are terrible things!

Monstermuncher · 07/01/2011 14:26

Oh Watersprite how scary. I'm glad to hear Maria-Ann is getting better x

beaditAli · 07/01/2011 14:51

Oh poor lil Maria-Ann and how scary for Mummy. Hope everyone is feeling better and happier now! Facebooky hearts for you!

beaditAli · 07/01/2011 14:55

cinnamon I do worry that despite the usual baby problems and a brief hospital visit, Jack has been an easy baby and my second would be a nightmare........ I think i'd cry an awful lot more! Plus the fear of the twin tradition is a big worry as Jack was so big. sassy Another baby??? Shock

sassy34264 · 07/01/2011 15:06

Oh watersprite how awful. So sorry for you and maria-Ann (and dad). So pleased she is getting better. Keep us updated.

Lunch??? What's that then? I'm just about to have mine! As both babies are asleep Shock doesn't happen often, making the most of it by eating and housework BOO!

I know beaditali it's not that i'm a glutton for punishment or anything, it's just that i can't stand to think that i will never be pregnant ever again, never have a baby ever again. It's sad to me. Sad

sassy34264 · 07/01/2011 15:11

Just want to quickly say, incase i haven't got time tomorrow and forget later on. we are moving into our new house this weekend h O O R A Y!!!!!

Unfortunately i will not have any internet connection for a while, until we get a phone, so i may have to give someone my mobile number so i can keep up with the arrangements being made, regarding the meet up. Cinnamon i was thinking you, as you are the organiser/motivator person. Smile Let me know if this is ok? and i will message you it.

I will be bereft......Sad Sad Sad Sad

Chelle1986 · 07/01/2011 15:49

Sassy - yay for the house!!

Welcome back park/jessemy and monster. Smile

newmum - I've just had the rankest lasange for lunch.... [sickemoticon! It was a asda good for you one! Yuk! Otherwise I normally just pick or grsb a sarnie when we're out. On the plus side I have lost half a stone towards the wedding dress! Grin

Need to put my dates on the meeting thing - cinnamon - sorry I will do it soon! Blush

beadit - penguins are ours!!!!! [scowl]!!!

watersprite you just made me fill up - so glad everything is ok and Maria ann is well again.

Olly's been ok last couple of days - sleeping a tiny bit better but nothing like the mammoth 11 hours on Tuesday! Think his teeth are still at him to be honest and the injections haven't helped....

He is also sick (little bits) throughout the day beadit and cantrememberwhoelse!! - but am pretty sure its just a baby thing! He gets in such a temper sometimes that he makes himself sick!

Haha - he is having a nap now in his carseat and have just noticed some toes poking out the bottom! Where's his sock gone!!? Confused

Olly 14+5

JessemyParkson · 07/01/2011 16:30

meet up? I missed that bit!

Please can someone fill me in?

PS I love the FB penguin!

Chelle1986 · 07/01/2011 17:07

jessemy - are you on facebook? we have a group on there and are trying to organise a meet up somewhere - if you are then let us know your name or email and we will add you to the group.

or you can search for me - michelle clegg - profile pic is Olly in a blue baby gro.

We check out eachothers pics etc on there too.

beaditAli · 07/01/2011 18:00

Just thinking that if we meet up we could do a bit of a swap shop if any of us have things we don't want/need/grown out of......? Could just be adding difficulties to what might be a tricky journey but maybe worth a thought?
I'm about to give away a red telly tubby with a moving tummy if anyone wants that! Two bin bags full too but can't recall what's in them! oh but lots of 3-6 month clothes that my giant doesn't fit!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/01/2011 18:16

Sorry all of those posts i missed think I hadn't refreshed the page! watersprite that made me well up, must have been terrifying. My best friends little girl had bronciolitis when she was 5 months while they were on holiday in Australia and she was in hospital for 5 days on oxygen.

Welcome back jessemyparkson, come join the facebook group Grin. There are 6 years between dss and ds1 and they get on great, play together so well, but they aren't together all the time.

That's fine sassy34264, hooray for the house. How is weaning going? We will miss you!!

Someone actually said to me yesterday that I was lucky to have my nightmare baby first when I had time and then thesecond one wasn't a shock! I like the swapping idea as long as we are prepared to come home with what we take if others can't take it with them.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/01/2011 18:18

Where's comixminx we are almost out of thread!!

bananastew · 07/01/2011 18:52

Hey all! 2nd baby, 1st birthday was our agreement! Watersprite horrible, horrible, so glad she's ok, welcome back jessemyparkson

I haven't cried over anything Olly related for a long time but I have today Sad I'm not saying I want a clingy baby and I know some of you would wish for a bit of this (not all, its horrible!) But he just doesn't need me! He just needs someone who can look after him! We never have sleepy cuddles cos he won't sleep on me. I tried for 10 mins to get him to sleep on me tonight & had to give up. put him in his crib, literally dumped him, didn't settle or make comfy & he was asleep instantly! Anyone can make a bottle of milk & stick it in his mouth so he doesn't need me to feed him. so thats it really, he doesn't need me! Sad

comixminx · 07/01/2011 19:35

cinnamon, don't worry, I'm keeping an eye on the thread length! 920 posts, still a little bit to go, though not much I grant you!

OP posts:
chickieno1 · 07/01/2011 19:36

hi everyone! haven't been on in ages but had to say hope maria ann gets well soon watersprite sooooo scary.

finn 18 weeks tomorrow

newmum001 · 07/01/2011 19:43

Bananastew - Grace isn't one for cuddles either. I mean she litterally thrashes about if i try to cuddle her in to me! She doesn't mind being held but only facing forwards. She much prefers being in her bouncy chair or on the play gym. The real hassle is that she can't self settle and doesn't settle while being held so i'm having to take her out 3 times a day in the pram to get her to sleep. It's a nightmare. But Olly does need you!! Your his mummy and he probably prefers you over anybody. Yes anybody can make a bottle but no one can love him like his mummy can! I console myself that sooner rather than later Grace will be able to come to me for cuddles when she wants them and as she gets bigger many an afternoon will be spent cuddling on the couch watching disney films and i'll appreciate it even more then!

Watersprite - how scary! My friends DD had that a few weeks ago and she was terrified too. Thank god she's over it now!

bananastew · 07/01/2011 20:00

You know newmum for a "newmum" your pretty not new!!! You're right. I realised after I'd posted that and stopped crying that Toby is always saying "Boby (Toby!) want my mummy" or "no daddy do it, mummy do it" (although he did say "Boby no ike my mummy! today Shock

Whoever asked if I'd seen the nurse/dr I've got a smear on the 19th so will see then. I am slightly concerned now that when we all get together I'll be "that ones Lucy/banana/the one who's a mess down there!!!" Grin Blush

newmum001 · 07/01/2011 20:06

It's just cause i feel exactly the same, i can't wait till Grace says things like that! I'm sure no one would have thought that at the meet up, but they will now you've brought it to everyones attention Grin only joking. If it makes you feel any better mines not looking great either!!

bananastew · 07/01/2011 20:30

I'm not pleased but am pleased to hear that newmum!!!
