Ok, so a little bit later than everyone else, here's a bit about Louis....
Like all babies, Louis has good days and bad days, but I like to think that the good days show his true personality, and the bad ones are just because he's a sensitive creature.. So, on the good days he just smiles, smiles and smiles some more. He has 2 different smiles - one closed-mouthed contented one :), and one great big grin
, that is often accompanied by little shreeks and giggles. Louis saves most of his smiles for people. When he wakes from a nap he will grizzle until I go to him, but break into a grin as soon as he sees me. He loves it when we blow kisses to him, or do 'fish-face', but mostly he just loves to have you smile back at him. He needs quite a lot of entertaining during the day. He is mesmerised by the mirror and will kick away at the rattles on his baby gym for quite a while, but prefers to have me sitting next to him while he does. He loves to be sung to, even in my tuneless drone. He sits in his chair and laughs away at me emptying the dishwasher, as I dance about showing him the "shiny pans". But if I get too enthusiastic he gives me the most sceptical 'now you're just being silly' face
. Generally he quite likes having his nappy changed, when he will stare up at the mobile above his mat, and doesn't mind getting dressed, but his absolute favourite thing is bathtime. It doesn't matter how tired and grizzly he has got in the evening, when we put him in the bath he smiles and kicks and splashes until evil mummy or daddy takes him out. ;)
Physically, Louis is quite a stong baby. He can pretty much sit and stand with just help balancing, and his dad has been doing 'superbaby' with him for several weeks now. He is getting quite vocal and we have little conversations of 'ohs' and 'ahs' while he sits on my lap. He loves his milk (on a good day when I time his feeds just right he grins so much as I latch him on that he dribbles milk all down me) but now, at three months, he knows his own mind much more, so will only feed when he wants to. He has been known to scream at the boob when I try to feed him and he doesn't want to
- it was unheard of for his to refuse milk in the first couple of months. He's also much more engaged with the world and wants to be held looking out unless he's really tired and upset. He's starting to fight going to sleep and gets over-tired easily. He still gets very windy, and can trump for England
, but overall I can already see that he's growing up so fast. I know it's a cliche, but I have to say that being his mummy has been the best, but also the hardest thing I have ever done.
