Have spent 2hrs today sipping champagne at Claridges which was lovely. SAHM status not quite beating that atm

LWFH and HOTS, glad you had a nice (albeit short) meet and that all the DC's met their scrumminess quotient. Oh, and Dizz's brownies of course

HP and LWFH sounds like a luvverly little meet... I sneaked one in over the weekend too, saw ALBS and DS who were as lovely as ever and also got to meet TheRevALBS and LittleMissALBS who are charming and adorable respectively

But in all the excitement I wasn't on here and so missed sending birthday greetings to the littlest Dixie and Caveman! Happy birthday to them both, hope you all had brilliant days. I have become slightly manic about DD's birthday, I know she is only 2 and none of it will mean a thing to her but I am feeling really quite anxious about The Cake ('piggy cake' has been requested ), and have managed to buy her two big presents, one of which I am going to have to store until xmas if not next year - very sensible behaviour for one about to move house I don't think.

But hey, they did a great job when i left for DS so i can't have everything! especially since the colleague who organised it all before has now left. hey ho, perhaps they'll surprise me but to be honest, given the team i work with i'll be amazed if they've even got their arses into the right gear to get a card between them! its fine though, i know they do all care, we've just been incredibly busy at the moment

my assistant manager kept looking over at me today really wistfully. i ignored the first few and then asked what on earth was wrong...apparently he's going to miss me and my smile! he's such a soppy mofo!!

pert i got in a bit of a state about feeling like i'd let DS down for not organising a big party etc. but you know what. i reckon he's had one of his most exciting weekends with almost all of his grandparents spending lots of time playing with him

and yes, class was really good.... i'm going to open like a flower when my surges start

miamla i got a travel cot & mattress & leaving lunch with DD1 and a card for DD2

Miamla - not long now. Enjoy your last day at work then the chaos begins! Pleased the hypnobirthing is going well. I have to confess to using the slogans, like opening flowers, that the contraction timer kept throwing at me.

Pert - we too have a piggy cake request but occasionally it changes ot a cat request. I bought a wilton animal crackers tin - apparently it can be most animals! So the final decision will be left until the very end.

Have you seen Haziedazie from the original thread is expecting her second?

crisp with DS i got thoroughly spoilt...bottles of champagne, lunch with all my favourite cakes (very little savoury from what i remember!), £100 of amazon vouchers, huge bunch of flowers oh and a laptop!! they had to send me home in a cab because i couldn't carry all of my swag!

hmm, just remembered, they asked me to bring in cakes today so already they're not doing as well!

oops what contraction timer did you use? i found one that TS linked to about ooh 2 years ago but i don't think it talks, or maybe it does...we didn't get to use it last time!

VG glad you had a lovely holiday, I heart Ibiza. Whereabouts did you go? I am regretting not going abroad tbh, the weather hasn't been brill has it and forecast for our beach trip is only middling . Therefore I am off into town in a minute for an emergency kagoul hunt...

oops am working today, tomorrow and thurs and next mon. Hopefully will be done by then and can go on our Irish trip as planned, otherwise we may have to postpone a few days

Hope everyone's doing ok.
All ok here - having to go try sort out a new bank account though. My current bank being very unhelpful despite all my efforts so meh to the lot of em. Waiting on an application pack from a local care home, although I called on thursday and it still hasn't turned up. Will wait a couple more days then give them another call..

Heard from a friend I haven't chatted to in a while the other day, and she had her second in June. can't believe it - the time seems to have flown since she told me she was expecting. Was nice to hear that she had a better birth this time round. her little girl is called Tabitha which is really sweet.

Anyway, not much else to report.

I have been reading the threads from August 08 (when I was still lurking) and just wanted to hug some of you ladies who thought you were going into labour but I knew you still had weeks to go. My late pregnancy was also a nightmare but only because DD was 3 weeks early so expected DS every day from 37 weeks. Each night I would go to bed thinking 'tonight's the night' only to wake in the morning with nary a twinge. Ended up 9 days over...

I have just completed 4 hours straight of trying to sort out playroom.. skip i ordered is nearly full and i still haven't finished or started the rest of the house and breathe!!

oh and i biught myself, no i mean ds a trainset for his birthday, hurrah

evening all, how do you extract a 2 year old boy from his new bicycle? my dad gave him one today and he's refusing to even take the helmet off! i had a real battle to get him and the bike in the car separately!!

bedtime is going to be soooo much fun!

anyhow, i'm now a lady of leisure and as predicted i got a card from them (which they popped out and bought 'behind' my back today!) Its been a really lovely day though and i'm going to miss them all. My boss stood up to make a speech when they gave me the card and i warned him that he was in trouble if he made me cry. his reply? "why would i do that? i just want to tell everyone how much we're going to miss you and what a great job you've done etc" erm yeah, thanks for that..bastard made me cry!!

Miamla, install safety gate and leave T to play till he falls asleep. It will be best for all.
