Loti it's 11.30pm so definitely wine o'clock

TwilightSurfer · 31/07/2010 17:19

Singapore that's lovely!! And she named them beautifully!!!

Lucky tantrums were all the rage for us yesterday. Sorry they passed them on to your girls. Feel free to begin the wine therapy at any time.

DH has DD1 out playing tennis and running pretend errands. R is here with me. It's a good balance.

spring congrats to your friend, how lovely. Re. weight: I have an online acquaintance who has eight children () including two sets of twins. The second set (girls) were born a few weeks early, weighing something like 8lb 4oz and 7lb 12oz Madness. I was so exhausted when heavily pregnant that it was all I could do to get up the stairs, and there was only one 8lber in there.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY D! Hope you and your lovely family are enjoying lots of your mummy's favourite cakes

What a night last night...DS had mega-paddy at bedtime, then woke at midnight for another. Also semi-woke at 1am and 2am, making weird scared sounds. Then the cats decided to have a massive scrap with another local moggy, actually inside our house by the sounds of things. DS woke again and was saying 'meow, meow' in a really anxious tone of voice. Bless him.

Am knackered now, although have had lovely day together. DP is doing bedtime and then going out to see some friends, so it's pjs/wine/DVD for me

Buckets I love your shrug. Well done that knitter.

dizzydixies · 31/07/2010 19:29

Evening all! Strange day here and hasn't quite felt like D's birthday at all bless her.

Deliveries/baking in the morning then over to a friends house to talk tax and finances while the kids ran about outside. DH phoned to say he was awake at 3.30pm so we nipped home, had a quick tea and he's now away back to work taking the other two girls for a sleep over while D and I stay here. She got balloons, a Woody (dodie) doll, a wee kitchen and a peeing rabbit (don't ask) and we gave her a scuttle bug. Some hideous clothes from MIL, with receipts thank god, and some other bits and bobs too bless her. The older two were more excited than she was lol.

Friend coming tonight, we were supposed to be making cake bites but sod it, I'm shattered and could do without anymore baking chat! I think we'll design a logo, drink wine and watch Julia & Julia instead

Cece - hope poor T feeling better v soon.

Spring - loving Beatrice but not too keen on Maxwell, can't understand why though. Lovely news all round and congrats to your friend!

Miamla - what a lovely idea putting some pink bits on the clothes, I think all our newborn stuff was a. too wee and b. white!

love to all!

dizzydixies · 31/07/2010 19:30

oh and in case you didn't know I apparently make the best brownies in the world - KnB competition winner says so therefore it must be true

CrispyTheCrisp · 31/07/2010 20:53

Evening

Day spent juggling figuring out my new pooter, work bits and family. No time for MN

I have just soaked in the bath and DH is cooking us a lovely meal with champagne to celebrate my new found business, so i may or may not see you later

Hope all is good and sorry not to catch up individually

Happy birthday to DiddiestDixie

luckoftheirish · 01/08/2010 07:37

morning ..

dd2 still asleep has been since 6pm last night!!!!

dd1 other the other hand .. came down to me at 7.30 half an hour after being put to bed with "mummy i think i might be sick"!.. no sickness, tho then complained of poorly ears and sore throat, then told me she was hungry.. went to my bed at 9 and up before 7 so i guess if its not one its the other!!!

Happy Birthday little O!!! hope ds1 is on the mend cece..

Dizzy hope you had a well deserved break last night!

cyteen hope your wee boy slept better last night!

Sazz its all coming together, hope you enjoyed the champers!!! xx

oopsandbabycoconuts · 01/08/2010 07:46

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLESTCAVEBOY - have a wonderful day.

Miamla - hopethings are better for you this morning and breathe the weekend is almost over.

Crispy - Sounds like things are on the move workwise.

Dizzy - how was the wine? Hope you got some decent sleep before your shift this morning.

Loti - Good on DD2 sleeping but poor DD1.

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/08/2010 07:57

Happy Bithday CaveChap, enjoy your day with all the family

Wow for DD2's sleep LOTI do you think DD1 was putting it on to try and stay up with you? The list of problems sounds mighty familiar . Is DH away?

Ours both awake at 6 and although it was my turn to get up I told them to go back to bed. DD2 protested so DH went into her bunk bed (quite amusing in itself) and DD1 went back to bed until 'bunny woke up' at 7.15 and we came up. DD2 and DH still snoring

I would recommend anyone moving from cot to bed to go to a proper full size single (space permitting) as we have had a few occassions where we have needed to snuggle up with the girls and makes it possible

We were planning a walk and picnic today, but the weather is, well just, nothing. Will hope for sunshine later

Still not come up with a business name and need to register today

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/08/2010 07:59

Sorry, missed you there oops

Morning

oopsandbabycoconuts · 01/08/2010 08:02

Here is a WWYD - DD and I are supposed to be going to a party for 2 of the girls from our NCT group and hte rest of the group will be there. I have just told DD we are going to X's party and she has cried for the last 5 minutes saying I don't want to go, X bite me. I stay home a Papa' Should I cancel? I don't want want ot force her but I'm not sure she will be happy once she is there as she always attaches herself to my leg when we see X.

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/08/2010 08:14

No, don't go. But I would make it clear to DD1 that it is because she has nicely explained why she doesn't want to go and you understand, rather than having a big tantrum to get her own way IYSWIM? And that this time you can cancel but sometimes we have to do things we don't want. Much of this may go over her head, but i think it is important for them to know why you have said yes or no to something

oopsandbabycoconuts · 01/08/2010 08:20

Thanks Crispy - I have already explained that sometimes we have to do thing we don't like (which cause the quivering bottom lip) but we don't have to go today - She is much happier now and has gone to wake DH as she wants to share his breakfast! I doubt breakfast is even on his mind yet.

hotterpotter · 01/08/2010 11:11

Happy Birthday littles CaveBoy

Need to go and tidy up in the garden for our Very Important Visitors tomorrow

CaptainCaveman · 01/08/2010 12:23

I think the queen is coming the amount of ruddy cleaning I've done today!! I'm knacked out already. Mum and Dad have taken for a walk to make him sleep , whilst ds1 is fully recovered and demanding I get him something right NOW!!

cyteen · 01/08/2010 13:51

Happy birthday little O! DS sends a special loving shove to you Have a great day with your family CC.

We took DS into town this morning as DP was hungover and craving for some meat - had lunch in Cafe Rouge, then went to John Lewis (god, could I get any more middle class?) Found out my friend had her baby yesterday, a little boy, YAY so got all misty-eyed and bought a little babygro to send to them. When I looked round DS had fallen in love with a cuddly rabbit and was clutching it to him and talking to it very earnestly. God damn that cute factor that makes you buy things He hasn't let go of it since.

TwilightSurfer · 01/08/2010 13:58

Happy Birthday O!

Happy Birthday O

Enjoy the meet up tomorrow. Another friend who has recently moved to Dubai had a little boy yesterday too - Louis. Must have been the day for it!

7 years tomorrow - how did that happen?

One of my close friends here who was supposed to be going back to Sydney in October might be staying for another year and is talking about having no.2 here too - v. about that.

CaptainCaveman · 01/08/2010 19:23

bleurgh...feeling ropey with a dicky gut . Ds1 had some more sickness this afternoon and has once again recovered to torture play with his brother!
