As most of you know I've ordered a dress from a lovely lady in Australia. Here is the picture. This is as far as I've gotten. After reading about big kid beds, I might try that as a gift (and I might not).

Evening

Can't miss out on a new thread eh? Just letting you all know that my sister is officially weird. Met at Mum's this avo and we both brought tea for our DCs's (long story why). I brought a pot of pesto, DSis brought pasta sauce, pasta, 2 saucepans, a sieve and a wooden spoon. WTF???? Why would you bring all that into a fully equipped kitchen? . I did ask Mum and apparently she said she thought it would be easier. WTF AGAIN????

Anyhoo, Dc's in bed, fish & chips eaten and i am off to hit the sack soon too having been woken by exciteable holiday child at 6am

Love y'll

TwilightSurfer · 10/07/2010 21:17

Crispy that is a bit silly. I hope the visit was a delight. Have a pleasant trip. We look forward to wild tales when you return.

hiya, thanks for the thread TS, its good to have you back as our thread organiser/statistician!

hiya crisp, erm yes, that does sound a little weird!

MrsMiamla · 10/07/2010 21:42

just had a bit of a scary moment... sharp pain in bottom of my bump (on the right hand side) that seemed to last ages. DH is out tonight, not back til midnight so was worried about being here on my own with DS. Pea's now got hiccups and kicking me as normal so, nothing to worry about, right?

oopsandbabycoconuts · 10/07/2010 21:51

Evening

Thanks for new thread TS

DD1 is in her new bed all grown up and sleeping upside down. I put her in her grobag and she insisted on her new Peppa pig duvet pull right up to under her chin. We had a bit of crying initially but I read her a story and sang her songs and she was asleep before I was out the door. I feel stupidly sad about it all, she is still so little and my baby but looked so grown up in her ' big girl bed'. Very very strage feeling.

Crispy - what a strage situation with your Dsis.

oopsandbabycoconuts · 10/07/2010 21:54

Has she moved? I got some amazingly painful muscle spasms under my bump that had me in tears occasionally. Unless it happens regularly it should be fine.

MrsMiamla · 10/07/2010 22:00

hmm, it did feel like a muscle spasm type pain. She's been really moving all afternoon so I've lost track where she is, where she's been and where she's off to next! Thanks Oops, i feel happier about it. Just happened so quickly, I think if DH was here to see it he'd have me up the hospital by now!

GladioliBuckets · 10/07/2010 22:16

I had something similar while driving when 8m pg with DD. DH promptly banned me from driving which was ok as I'd already gone on maternity leave.

Kurt officially hates me after not letting him out of his new bed for 2hrs. He's wearing nothing but a nappy and grobag and eventually cuddled down with me in exhaustion. Can only get better... esp if I get round to moving the kitchen gate up to the boys' room. Am now worrying about the grobag as it's 2.5tog as opposed to the old table cloth he's been sleeping under all week. Planning to cut a single duvet and cover in two by autumn (it's a cotbed) as I'm not sure waddling about in a grobag is very safe.

I've ofinally ordered a swingset today, technically for Kurt's birthday although there's no baby swing. My DDad is to be roped into constructing a climbing frame/den attachment - hoping he will decide he is too old to have his own scaffolding set (yes he really does have one!) and pass it on to us for garden fun. It's unlikely though, he is 65 and is just building himself a new patio singlehanded.

CaptainCaveman · 10/07/2010 22:21

Thanks for new thread TS, you are a super star!

crispy yep, definately weird!

oops your big girl! They are all growing too quickly.

miamla i've been umming and ahhing whether to post but here you are - when I had my bleed at 30 weeks I was woken up around 2am with a sharp pain in my groin/lower abdomen on the right which settled and went off. About an hour later I went to the loo and there was blood in my underwear and on the loo paper. Now, I'm posting this because as you know, all is well and they could find no reason for the bleed and Oliver arrived safe and sound 7 weeks later . Sure all will be well, just take it easy and rest up!

dizzydixies · 10/07/2010 22:31

I'm here but on phone & still at dads so just trying to keep up. Lovely thread TS

RedLentil · 10/07/2010 22:43

Ok, white glossy kitchen. Grey sparkly floor tiles and grey work top. White walls. Oak table with some nice Eames chairs and lovely big Bo Concept '50s style pendant lights.

But, wood effect pvc windows (I know they don't really do them in the uk but hereabouts they are pretty much the only window in town.

The other choice is to have black windows, or black outside with white inside.

Love, love love the shoes Cyteen.

And v. similar late pg pains here too Miamla. Hope you're feeling better now.

MrsMiamla · 10/07/2010 22:44

sssh, don't tell dizz because she's worrying about me but I just had another little twinge

thanks cc, I'd rather know than not, iyswim so thank you for reminding me about what happened with you

off to bed now and really hoping nothing else happens before DH gets home

night all. its my turn for a lie-in tomorrow and i plan to take full advantage of it so i'll see you at about 3pm

MrsMiamla · 10/07/2010 22:45

i think i'd go for the black outside/white inside option...personally

MrsMiamla · 10/07/2010 22:46

oh and it seems these pains are as common as muck! definitely going to try not to worry about them
thanks red

RedLentil · 10/07/2010 23:13

I think it's the double doors and the full-length window in the room that are making white a bit tricky though .... [really can't decide emoticon]

RedLentil · 10/07/2010 23:15

Though in the kitchen/diner bit they could be black inside too .... [argh]

TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2010 01:36

Miamla you may have pains like that as your baby begins to drop. Have you looked at yourself naked lately? Is your bump sliding down signaling the birth is near??

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2010 01:40

Red I'd really like to see those kitchen pics.

DH & I discussed hiring a drywall guy to come remove and replace all the drywall in the hall bath (the one we use ALL THE TIME). I stripped the wallpaper and attempted to correct the walls with skim coating but it still looks pitiful. I need to just bite the bullet and hire a pro. When will I learn!?!

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2010 01:42

Buckets good work! Now could you come sort birthday things out for me.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2010 01:51

Back to you Miamla 1st you've given birth once so you're a pro. Breath and try to steer away from fear. Your body has to go through changes still. The weight of the bump causes deep ligament pain as it stretches to accommodate. The pelvis will begin to shift some as the head firmly implants against the cervix. Pea may attempt to shift herself to a more comfortable position in the prep process. Help her by belly dancing or crawling on all fours. Once her head is pressing on your cervix you may start the braxton hicks phase. Embrace it all. KNOW your body is working for you and your baby. RELAX as that's the best state for the whole experience. BELIEVE that if something unforeseen happened that it would happen in the right place at the right time. You are surrounded by love. Pea is surrounded by love. T is surrounded by love. All will be okay.

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 11/07/2010 06:55

miamla hope you had a restful night and pea remains happily in her pod . Sadly mine was not

red Black windows, as long as the frames are not too thick. Ours are steel windows so have a thin surround, but we have black and they look fab. Well, IMVHO anyway

DD2 will be trying her new bed when we get back from hols. I have a feeling it will be nowhere near as straightforward as with DD1. Good luck KurtBoy and OopsaGirl for settling well

dizzydixies · 11/07/2010 07:11

Bloody hellish night again here too I'm not even going to attempt a post

oopsandbabycoconuts · 11/07/2010 07:42

Oh no Dizzy - ((HUGS)) when do you head home?

Well bed it turns out is a success! DD was asking to go to bed from when she first saw her bed so we put her up at 7 which is 30mins earlier than normal she slept until 7 not yelling, no climbing out nothing just good sleep. She called DH and brought her big girl bed (BGB) (not allowed to just call it a bed) pillow into out bed along with a carebears DVD that came with a bear. We decided to put the cot up in our room last night I am going to put the moses basket in it. P came in this morning and said 'my cot?' So in my best lying voice I said 'no, the man delivered it for E last night, can I put her moses basket in it?' At which she burst into tears with a 'noooo, not my cot I have a big girl bed' So I explained it was for E and not her and we put E's moses basket in ti and she was thrilled saying E had a big baby cot and she had a BGB.

DH sleeping upstairs although he did offer to get up but need to feed smaalest creature so he would have been no good at that!

alittlebitshy · 11/07/2010 08:15

phew - i have finally caught up.

not been on for almost 2 weeks .

oops loving the BGB and BBC!

miamla only just caught up and seen about dh being made redundant. glad he is enjoy sahd-dom! And i hope you are having a really good lie in!

dizzy oh no re night hope today gets better.

red yep i agree with the white inside/black outside option too.
