You had a chance to put a stop to the dodgy little lying, pathetic twat and you blew it.

Now we have to listen to his bollocks and hate inducing garbage for longer.

9,000 people voted for a bin rather than this swindler.

He can’t even bring himself to come to your town to accept the vote. He is laughing at you.

Real “man of the people’ - why can’t you see that he doesn’t give a crap about you or your problems?

Oh well at least the investigation into the £5mill can resume.

What a fucking waste of time and money. Disgusting. Disappointed in you guys. 🙈

On the plus side Laurence Fox lost his deposit. Again.

Personally I think the major parties have treated the people of Clacton with contempt due to shameful cowardice.

Why did Labour/Conservatives not stand and run a great campaign offering locals real choice? Fear of the optics of loosing?

So the people of Clactons MP and their right to political choice was less important to the government and shadow than the optics of loss. And they wanted them to vote for a person with no political experience who is a national joke, a man dressed as a bin? As their MP? Ha bloody ha, hilarious - it's only fucking Clapham eh? Who gives a fuck Clacton!

It really is fucking disgusting OP, but Farage is not the only one with his arse on show.

Edited

Because Farage would have then used the fact that he won Clacton to shut up those other parties when they wanted his 5 mill bribe investigated. 'The people disagree with you'. We know that was exactly his plan, he was pretty open about it.

But how can the people of Clacton validate his behaviour before it has been properly investigated?

If irregularities are found and there's another bye-election, then that can be a referendum on whether Nigel being bought and paid for is something the public are concerned about. This bye-election was just a stunt, using the people of Clacton and the other parties for his own ends. It's unsurprising that the other parties didn't want to validate it and left him to argue with a man with a bin on his head.

Greedybilly · Today 09:09

What does he have to do for people to stop voting for him? Mind blowing levels of stupidity 🤯

Dunnocantthinkofone · Today 09:10

LizzieSiddal · Today 09:08

It’s not up to Labour or Conservatives to play along with his nonsense.

Actually I disagree. While Farage pulled a stunt, I personally believe our government and official opposition should be compelled to stand in every seat

noblegiraffe · Today 09:11

It’s bewildering that anyone would vote for this man who is a proven liar, racist and misogynist.

I mean, Boris Johnson was our Prime Minister...it's not like this country doesn't have form.

Pigeoninthebath · Today 09:13

"Today the voters in Clacton have stuck two fingers up at the entire political establishment," Farage said.

That's what he wants. Disruption.
None of this is for the benefit of his constituents.

Reform said he didn't attend the count because of a threat against him. (They've lied about that before).
He said he 'Didn't want to be humiliated by nobodies'.

Which was it?

If anyone is dismissive of our political system, candidates and constituents it's Farage.

Nellodee · Today 09:15

Just had an interesting thought - do you think if Farage had a magic button to immediately stop all illegal immigration to the uk, would he press it or not? I think he wouldn’t. I think he’d realise it meant the end of his political career and would choose to let it continue so that he would have a better chance of getting into power.

noblegiraffe · Today 09:15

He said he 'Didn't want to be humiliated by nobodies'.

He is, at the same time as claiming that Binface is a 'nobody', trying to claim that he is the establishment candidate, representing all the other parties.

I guess if you're trying to sell the line that your opponent is was actually a serious candidate, that's rather hard to do if the photos show a man with a bin on his head.

Not that bewildering- the orange felon is all of these and much more and has been convicted and the US voted him in ( twice…) It really doesn’t say much for the brain power of a frightening majority.

It’s a protest vote.

But are any of the ‘mainstream’ parties listening? No. Blame them. Not the frustrated voting public.

Why do you think people vote for a man who when he had a position of power barely attended? He failed to show up to represent his constituents day after day for years. Why do the they think he will step up and act now based on all evidence.

This is one of the reasons people question why people would vote for Farage.

It's not a 'scolding by betters'. It's a reasonable concern/question.

I have friends in Clacton who hate Farage. The entire population don’t support him. I really feel for them today.

They ran an election the first time and lost. Why should they waste £££s of taxpayers money on running again, just because Farage wanted the investigation into him to stop (i.e. the reason he decided to call this waste of time election in the first place)?!

They’re perfectly reasonable not to engage imo.

There’s plenty of independents in this constituency people could have voted for other than binface. Perfectly good local people, who actually care about their town.

Burnham has spent this week going on about stopping the boats and housing illegal immigrants in naice areas. The number of illegal boat crossings has dropped under Labour, even GB News admits that their policies are having an impact. https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/small-boat-crossings-uk-data-2026-gb-news-407791/

It's odd when people try to claim that Farage is the only person talking about illegal immigration and the other parties 'aren't listening'.

GB News admits 'smash the gangs' is working, as small boat crossings down 40%

Stopped the boats? New figures show a steep drop in Channel crossings for 2026 - forcing GB News into a 'begrudging' admission.

Farage could always do some proper work for Clacton residents if he actually showed up for meetings and constituency surgeries.

Why can’t you just see that not everyone shares your views , it’s a democracy and people can vote any which way they choose .

Why can't you see that, in a democracy, it's perfectly legitimate to debate and criticise the political choices that other people make?

People can indeed vote any which way they choose, and nobody is stopping them. But equally, people can express their views about the voting choices that others make.

It's a democracy, and you don't get to silence people for saying what they think.

Protesting by voting for a man who has done nothing for Clacton since he was voted in two years ago. Who then resigned. Who then stood again. Who then didn't show up for the count.

I guess the main parties would listen harder if Farage had ever actually achieved anything for his constituents either when MP of Clacton or an MEP.

IlikethoseBalenciagas · Today 09:32

He can be investigated now.

Has he has a month to hide his money and income streams? I hope there's a shit hot group of accountants and digital investigators onto it.

It's odd when people try to claim that Farage is the only person talking about illegal immigration and the other parties 'aren't listening'.

I think this is a good example of people not needing to win to get the outcome they want. Most Reform voters want lower immigration. Labour are highly unlikely to have taken steps like stopping family reunification without the pressure from these voters. If Labour achieves the reduce immigration levels it is win win. It wasn't take long ago that Labour's view was that there should be freedom of movement and allowing mass immigration from Eastern Europe.

user1471538275 · Today 09:35

Agree that people really don't like democracy when it doesn't reflect their own views and wishes.

Is Farage a corrupt twat? Well, yes, but...

They're not really voting for him as a person, they're voting for him as a protest to what is happening to Clacton and has been happening for a long time.

They are using democracy to try and change what they don't like - which is unfettered immigration, legal and illegal.

Whether anyone can actually change ongoing immigration is debatable, but it is least clear that it is against the will of many people.

Why do Clacton feel this way? Likely because they are living somewhere that has been left to rot, that lacks investment - and they think that is because the money is being used for the wrong thing.

Monty36 · Today 09:37

Very sad result. I was hoping Mr Binface would win.
He did not want the humiliation of having a photo of him on a stage with a man with a bin on his head. Alongside any other odd candidates.
I suspect he is livid by the result actually. He cannot stand being an MP. He doesn’t mind the money nor the pension eventually, but oh, the actual constituents. He prefers to be a free agent. An agitator.
I suspect some poor soul in this office has to answer any constituency queries.
