What will life be like under Reform?

I have accepted the likelihood of the next government being Reform. I don’t think the government after that will necessarily be Reform. But in the 4 Reform years, what do people think life will be like for the different groups in our country? Will we see very immediate changes?

It’s not at all hysterical, Farage/Reform’s connections with Russia are well documented. I see so many right wing accounts echoing Russia propaganda, including Farage himself.
Bearing in mind that Russia openly talks about destroying the UK…..
In 2014, Farage and Nathan Gill, who who has been convicted of taking Russian bribes, made speeches parroting several of the same Russian propaganda lies.
Could this have just been a coincidence? I don't think so. It looks coordinated. Either Farage was feeding Nathan Gill with his talking points, or Russia was providing its talking points to both of them.
They both called Ukraine "The Ukraine," a term which refers back to the old Slavic word for borderland, which Russia uses to deny Ukraine's nationhood.
They both used the expression "poking the Russian bear."
They both parroted Russian lies about NATO and EU expansion.
They both repeated the Russian claim that the real threat was Muslim extremism, a claim that Putin had very effectively used to distract Western leaders from Russian aggression and its hybrid war against the West.

Farage has talked of admiring Putin, echoed Russian propaganda, appeared on Russian state TV numerous times and was even offered a show there. Yet he is not transparent and then lies and covers up his connections- why are you so keen to downplay any connection? Do you not feel it should be investigated, if not why not? Doesn’t it concern you? Are you from the UK?
Here's Nigel with Voloshyn’s wife who bribed Nathan Gill for Russia.

Nathan Gill plead guilty less than a week ago. Farage should be investigated too.

In March 2022, on GB News, Nigel Farage was complaining about the government sanctioning Russian oligarchs.
Strange that 🤔

I saw Carole Cadwalladr this week was calling for a proper investigation following Rachel Reeves claiming that Farage was ‘in bed’ with Putin in her conference speech.

It absolutely must happen!!

There is a whole world of different options between the NHS/UK health & benefit system and the US health & benefit system. It is hyperbole to suggest that the UK will jump from where we are now to the US system in one government tenure.

We need drastic changes as the current system is not functioning, if Labour could see that and make some really bold decision then nobody would need to worry about reform coming into power.

It is the current mainstream political parties that are the problem. A new political party that is just forming shouldn't stand a chance at getting in to power.

Edited

Im not a fan of the changes Labour is making to the NHS but they are radically changing the approach with a fierce focus on value for money. I spent 20 years in the NHS and this felt very different.

Well if would be different but then is that not what the country is needing.

I mean the tories have vanished it seems, labour is increasing out debt each month until we go bang so who is left?

Yes I think benefits will be slashed but given we can't afford our benefits bill that would make sense. Yes it's nice to help the vunerable etc but if you can't afford it, you can't afford it.

NHS is already being phased out so quite frankly a properly run private service where you could get the treatment you need quickly might not be the worst thing. It would also stop all these missed appointments and going to A&E with silly things.

Hopefully they will get rid of all these stupid new ideas and go back to men are men and women are women, the end.

More law enforcement can surely only be a good thing given that people are freely shoplifting with no punishment.

Lots of threads on here complaining about how everyone is so rude and entitled these days. So lots of people unhappy with things currently and we are on a knife edge financially with the budget awaited with baited breath.

Whether we like it or not we need someone who isn't afraid to make hard decisions. Huge cuts in benefits are needed. Who else is going to do that?
KS new right hand man is already highlighting this in todays telegraph. It's like we all know it already but god forbid someone actually take control and be in charge.

Racism probably will get worse. Hard to say. Illegals will hopefully get shipped back asap with no pandering to them.

We can't go on as we are that's for sure. Reform are certainly not a perfect solution but they will change things. It will be brutal for some but for anyone following the state of the country knows we need brutal change so who knows.

I for one am sick of lack of law and order, overcrowding and benefit scroungers. So I can understand people feeling backed into a corner and voting for them.

No doubt I will get slated for my post and that is fine if people disagree. Given they are leading in the polls though many people must be sharing my views.

I think he’s a corrupt traitor. His finances and Russian links should be investigated, yes. You seem rather keen to not look there.

He’s not declaring his income.

Why is he not been declaring his private security on his Register of Interests? There is no declaration of a gift or donation of private security.

The Telegraph published an article that it costs one million per year for this security, and yet nothing has been declared.
MPs have 28 days in which to register any financial donations on their Parliamentary register, but Farage's last entry to the Register was actually back in May.

So we're being led to believe that the man, who earns a million pounds a year from his outside work, just stopped earning in May?
Why won’t he publish his finances?

Nathan Gill took bribes to traitorously push Russian propaganda and didn’t declare the income.
Farage pushed the same Russian propaganda and shock horror there was also no income declared.

Also he won’t reveal who funded his recent trip to America. But whilst he was there he urged the US to use “diplomacy and trade” against the Uk because of the Conservative’s Online Safety Act 2023. The act requires social media platforms to protect users, particularly children, from harmful content such as misinformation, hate speech, and material promoting self-harm or violence. Hypocritical as Farage and his Reform UK party have restricted press access and sought to limit critical coverage. He banned critical press from from attending or reporting on its party conference in September 2024. Reform-controlled councils have also barred local reporters, such as those from a Nottingham paper, leading to legal challenges over press freedom. It’s not about free speech at all.

Regardless, Farage is shady and his finances need looking at.

You think Nigel Farage, Mr Polite, will make people have better manners?
Did you see the way he conducted himself as an MEP?
Even if you disagree with an organisation you are part of, there are classy and shitty ways to comport yourself.
He is the epitome of the modern epidemic of boorishness and incivility.

1457bloom · 03/10/2025 10:18

The big problem we have is that there are currently 6.5 million people on out of work benefits. If they could find a way to work the whole country would be more prosperous.

Yeah well with Reform you get both! So much for Britain first!!
At Reform’s conference in Birmingham, the Israeli state’s deputy ambassador Daniela Grudsky said “we have friends here”. Staff confirmed a “Reform Friends of Israel” group is being set up, aiming for a trip by the end of the year.
On September 5th, the Jewish Chronicle quoted Richard Tice telling British Jews to vote Reform because they stand with the Israeli state “rock solidly”. He also pledged to visit later this month.

I'll let my husband know. Two strokes and military service injuries have put a stop to his working life at 58, my apologies. I'll keep juggling my caring for him and my paid job. That 6.5m figure you're citing is the economically inactive figure that includes severely sick and disabled people who cannot work. And before you say you don't mean people with "real problems" remember that figure lumps everyone together

Yeah why not....I mean one war criminal vs another. Its all good isn't it...? I actually deal with Ukrainian refugees in my job. I've seen what damage has been done. Don't get me started.

In that case you need to stop believing everything BBC "Verify" and The Guardian tell you, (and thinking MN is open minded). Search out real information - about ALL parties - and then decide based on facts and things which you agree with, disagree with and which will affect you. Also bear in mind that currently the next GE is about 4 years away, all parties will change in the meantime.

Why are you making assumptions about my news sources from my post?

I don’t know much about Reform because all I ever see them talk about is anti immigration and “stop the boats” and none of that is high on my agenda when I choose who to vote for.

Ok - if only that were true it would be a good point.

Immigration might not affect you, but it certainly affects a huge number of people so it's hardly surprising it's talked about - even Tier Stamer talks about it.
