Will Reform win any votes at the local elections?

The senedd elections in Wales is where they'll do well as the elections are done on proportional representation.

They're currently forecast to get about a quarter of the seats.

This thread demonstrates perfectly how incredibly vulnerable to manipulation some sections of the population are.

Another own goal for Wales.

BIossomtoes · 19/04/2025 11:08

I’d quite like to see them take control of an entire council. The appalling mess they’d make of it should finish them off for good.

Yes, it's almost worth the shot in the arm for the greater good, isn't it?

I think so. As long as it isn’t mine, obviously. 😂

bestcatlife · 19/04/2025 11:17

It's almost as if Labour want Reform to win... I think we are heading to a very bad place as a country

Notonthestairs · 19/04/2025 10:21

can you outline how they intend to do that?

Change the law to be able to send people back to where they came from.

How do you propose that they change international law?

Maitri108 · 19/04/2025 11:31

TalkToTheHand123 · 19/04/2025 11:28

Change the law to be able to send people back to where they came from.

They're not planning on changing the law because they can't. They're planning on ignoring the law. They need permission from France to dump people there and permission from other countries to dump people there.

Anyway, moving on from "small boats", how can Reform help local communities? What's the plan?

SerendipityJane · 19/04/2025 11:34

Stop the boats crossing the Humber? Or the Thames or the Tyne?

But there's no danger
It's a professional career
But it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchills ear

😀

EasternStandard · 19/04/2025 11:37

The polls suggest they will so yes.

Which law?

You really think they can do that? And that it will work? And that everything will be fine and dandy if they do this?
We have a lot of problems in this country. The vast majority of them are completely unrelated to asylum seekers.

You need permission from France to take people there. Do you think this hasn't occurred to anyone else?

Why a tent? Why not replicate an El Salvador prison.

The reform leader's brexit makes returning them to France difficult.

Who stops the boats?

You can't just dump people in a sovereign country OP.

TalkToTheHand123 · 19/04/2025 12:03

That would be an option, to put them directly in a prison. It wouldn't be dumping if they go on their own accord.

Why would you put them in prison?

Seeking asylum is not illegal

So you think Labour are doing a good job or Tories would return and do great?

Thousands of unknown people are coming to the country each week, causing security risks and costing the tax payer more and more each day.

Hi Nige

Oliver's army. 🤠

TalkToTheHand123 · 19/04/2025 12:06

It would make Labour take them serious and actually do something about the issue.
