He then needs to be take a long walk with Charles and a bottle of whisky, who can regale him with tales of how awful it was for his mother and grandfather during WW2, and how much the Queen liked Trump as he reminded her of Churchill (who Trump really admires apparently). Literally anything to find that scrap of humanity in him.

That wasn’t a press conference it was an ambush. Two bullies attacking Zelenskyy in tandem, and English isn’t Zelenskyy’s first or second language. I can’t believe Trump had the gall to accuse him of risking WW3.

Vance was very rude and then his remarks triggered further exchanges. Trump has no idea of how to negotiate. Poor Zelensky, and the other two forget Zelensky has experienced a lot of insults from Putin already.

@madamweb I'm starting towonder if there is some truth in the rumours this week that he was indeed in the KGBs pay for awhile or he took a lot of money off Russians in last few years to try and avoid prison etc or for business reasons- he isn't a good business person despite the air he likes to give off - he comes over a bit frantic!

First Trump presidency, and it seemed like governmental structures and some sense of normalcy held things together. This second term is a completely different animal. If you’d told me a year ago that that the president and Vice President of the United States would humiliate and harangue in front of the world’s media the leader of a country that has been illegally invaded by a despot who murders his own citizens and has endured so much, I wouldn’t have believed you.

I said how strained Zelensky looked when he got out of the car. He never hides his dislike well. How different to when he meets Boris or Von der Leyen.
