@LadyKenya well it's not called diplomacy and soft power for nothing - and sometimes you have to be pleasant to a complete arsehole, which Starmer will have experience of as a top QC - however clearly here I think Putin has got wind that the UK would have expectations on their side too and doesn't like it and clearly Trump is getting a bit frantic - so I think we and anyone like macron have to change tack here.

This is how they speak when it's being broadcast around the world. Imagine how much worse they are behind closed doors. Zelenskyy was remarkably restrained - in a second language. Where are the Americans who anti Trump? Feels like a deafening silence. Only Marco Rubio looked deeply uncomfortable during that exchange. One dickhead started trying to make Zelenskyy feel embarrassed about his clothes. What have MAGA voters inflicted on the rest of the world? Genuinely shaken watching that.

I hate to say it but I’m honestly beginning to think it’s a shame that bullet missed. I know on an individual level that’s an awful thing to think but guess I’m a utilitarian.
