I bet there will be little reaction to Trump's state visit. We have many Reform and Tory voters who support Trump and his pal Farage and everything they stand for and how they behave- including ex-PMs Johnson and Tryss, and ex-candidates for leader of the Tories, Bravermann and Badenoch- currently lining herself up next to Farage.

Can't imagine what. It's out there that he fancies his own daughter, is a sex pest, a predator, corruption, fraudster, liar, convicted criminal, friend of musk. Tax fraud. Russian asset.

Maybe he gave money to charity once and the Russians have it on tape.

Trump is busy creating chaos. Dictators had book. De stabilise, isolate, weaken. He puts me in mind of a third world dictatorship.

If you're oldish you'll have seen similar from the USA most of your life. I certainly have. Maybe not as blatant and graceless but with the same actions and outcomes. Ukraine was set up from the start, from Maidan onwards, by successive administrations. This staged argument was them putting the boot in. Zelenskyy sees it now but he didn't before and that was his mistake. He let himself be drawn in by their promises.

Just watched this conference and Trump is just doing what all US presidents do, but he is doing it on camera rather than behind the scenes.

I think we (the UK) are playing it right, sucking up to him reminding him of his ancestors from Scotland and keeping him away from the crowds. He is a despot, so we have to treat him like one. Suck up at the beginning, form a bond over mutual territory, get the information and then pull the plug when he is weak.

Absolutely right. Trump staged this disgusting performance beginning with accusing Zelenski of being a dictator, of starting the war and then not finishing it, and all the while Trump and Putin were in discussions planning Ukraine's future.for their own benefit and profit.

Not even sure Trump is the problem, he is just an old narcissist being manipulated by Musk and the tech bros. If feeling powerless and shrugging that we didn't get a vote - maybe we can ask ourselves if we would be willing to delete our Amazon, Facebook, WhatsApp, Insta. Bezos and Zuckerberg are far more vulenerable than Musk. Meta I think is especially vulnerable to a backlash

Trump has lost his chance to be a hero in history. He may be a big burly man but it is little Zelenski who will be remembered as heroic. Think of him going round so many countries pleading for aid for Ukraine, standing firm against monstrous Putin and bully boy Trump, being ganged up on in the Oval Office, a place once sacred to Americans (never again after today) and ultimately evicted from the White House.
No one is going to forget the contempt (totally undeserved) the Americans showed for a brave and determined man

This . I’m not a fan of Zelensky either but Trump set the tone at the start with belittling comments about his outfit. Then that idiot WH reporter asking him if he owns a suit. Pretty sure that’s the last thing on the mind of a leader of a war torn country. The whole thing was just a car crash . The USA government are nothing short of a gangster demanding protection money.

And here's me thinking that the US and most of the rest of the World helped The Ukraine because they recognised Putin to be a bully to his own people, to his close neighbours and a threat to European peace and stability.
