He clearly doesn’t know what these press conferences are meant for - not to air grievances. It was meant to say publicly “we are working together” -smiling & handshakes, hope for future ….

I believe the suit question came from one of the reporters. Having seen it again. Zelensky didn’t prepare and it’s not as though Trump is an unknown.

Trump could take all the current financial support from Ukraine.

@AliceWhoisAlice Russia will never stop, they have to be shoved back into place. If Zelensky concedes, they will move on to Moldova, Lithuania, Lithuania - he will never stop. Some of the an above are NATO countries and we’d be forced to respond. Putin is a bully - the only way to keep him in his place is the real threat of a nuclear strike if he invades Europe. Without the US on board, the deterrent that has held for 80 years is gone. The whole thing is a disaster for Europe.

Or he could be listening to Musk - not a politician, not a diplomat, not an engineer, not a coder, whose only degree is an honorary one in history, who calls ordinary working people and vulnerable people parasites while siphoning as many dollars as he can into his own pockets and presiding over wrecking US social security, health and education as well as gutting the federal government.

Unfortunately, Starmer wants the trade deal. Starmer will at no point speak out against the US and still pursue a US backstop. It is, frankly speaking, wrong of him to do so but watch what happens on Sunday. Macron and rest of EU will push for European defence with European arms while Starmer harps on about a US backstop. The US is done. Ukraine cannot rely on the US. The EU cannot rely on the US. No one can rely on the US. Trump killed American exceptionalism and the military power house all in one fell swoop.

@Petuniaspetal I think it's very important to get outside my own echo chamber and see what the 'other side' are thinking. I abhor Fox. But I want to understand. Or at least see its followers in a clear eyed way.
