So does "far right" mean you're concerned about the impacts of mass immigration?

Cause I'm far right if so then!

Genuinely interested to hear what people consider as being "far right". I put it in quotation marks cause the term is so over-used incorrectly, it's actually lost all meaning.

Do you not think that Musk's primary motivation is not money, but power/influence over a country he has openly stated he considers his "homeland" of sorts?

He has way more money than he will ever need, this is spend mode not fundraising mode.

I actually think we should let some collapse. We have too many poor quality universities essentially selling degrees as a migration opportunity. I think we should have guilds for trades or a master tradesman attitude that the Germans have. I think we should heavily incentivise those who get into top tier courses or universities or those who have job offers in excess of 100k say. If you are studying chemistry at Oxford I don’t care if you bring granny with you.

Also there are too many economically inactive brits, getting people back into work should be a priority. As a 2nd gen immigrant myself, I get some of this is motivated by racism. There are legitimate concerns over culture I think. For me it’s a simple problem of numbers. We need more uber contributers to make up for the fact that over 50% of the British population take out more than they put in. We need more growth and less dependency. If you are going to basically suck up resources like a hoover then you shouldn’t be considered. If however you are going to be contributing to growth or science and research then yay who cares what you look like or where you come from.

Edited

I don’t disagree that we should preserve/bring back career routes and opportunities like apprenticeships and master crafters.

But is someone studying chemistry at Oxford inherently more desirable than someone studying history at a red-brick?

Who can really say how those two hypothetical people will contribute to or take from society?

BlueSilverCats · 04/01/2025 19:34

@Nordione1 here's your own words.

It does make sense but one issue re destabilising the government is the elephant in the room being the PM who stopped prosecutions of the groomers.

You stated as fact that Starmer stopped the prosecution of the rapists. Have you changed your view on that?

No. He’s going to be paid handsomely if he gets this right. Same playbook as he did in the states. Get paid for cutting public services.

Kaching!

You don’t address the question of white people missing out on job interviews or medical treatment. Pity as I’d be interested in hearing your answer.

I'll answer on medical appointments. Interesting how you chose to phrase this as 'white people' as though they are the only ones who matter.

Who needs the fastest access to assessment, diagnosis and treatment in terms of overall risk of severity, infectious potential, progression and potential cost benefits - somebody like my mother who will ignore any 'you need to keep your blood sugars down and it would help the pain in your feet if you were to lose three stone' as nonsense - or somebody who hasn't had access to childhood vaccinations, has been consistently malnourished, might have undergone torture, hasn't seen a doctor since childhood, has been living in conditions with inadequate nutrition, clean water or sewerage provision with a group of others from similar places where some have been ill for weeks or months, is unable to access a GP due to a lack of passport/lack of fluent English and is afraid that if they seek help for coughing up blood they'll either be charged thousands or be deported to a camp halfway across the world?

It's not just humanitarian to give access to medical services to people with potentially undiagnosed and untreated disease, it's better for the community in terms of finding and preventing outbreaks of disease and a damn sight cheaper than refusing it and then having to deal with a wider problem.

If he doesn't authorise someone independent to carry out a national enquiry about the rapes of hundreds of thousands of children in the UK while he was in charge of the DPP and CPS then something is very very wrong with his government.

At least you switched to innuendo and veiled allegations, instead of "fact".

He was head of the DPP from 2008 to 2013. The allegations started in 1997!!! They span 17 years if not longer. But obviously it's just those specific 5 years (when actually something was done about it, even if not enough) that warrant scrutiny?

@JRSKSSBH

Yes I think the UK may become like the balkans

I think there has been far too much immigration to the UK since the 90s

suburburban · 04/01/2025 20:01

@Comedycook

Yes, far too many students with debt

Same Jobs used to be done without degrees

That's what happens when British agencies go to poorer countries to actively recruit hospital staff for example, and promoted Britain as the land of milk and honey.

That’s what happens when "employment " agencies are allowed to run and make a business out of exploiting finding work for people with no NI (who hope with legitimate work they'll be able to get one) . All out in the open , with adds in newspapers and online.

That’s just some of the shit that went on through the years.

WhatTheFudges · 04/01/2025 20:10

The country is sinking and will become a hell hole. Our society and infrastructure is dwindling, not improving, therefore eventually anyone not wealthy enough to leave will end up in a life worse off.

Immigration is a problem but we can’t talk about it as it may cause radicals and racism. The reason the gang rapes have all been covered up and swept under the carpet is due to their race. Arresting them and people discovering their race on a national scale could lead to further racism, riots and civil unrest. Letting the child molesters go free through the back door is the lesser of two evils in someone with powers eyes. We are between a rock and a hard place and no one wins, we just all lose.

I think this is key. Migration has a way of reducing people to economic contributors. This is wrong. Migration is about what a society looks like. We have record levels- but inequalities have never been greater. Many British people are sick and cannot find stable work to support a life that is good.

That got us where we are; competition. And it will lead to riots and overt racism. We are already there. Trump is talking about something like repatriation. Every person in this country should think why that is. Society can go backwards. Racial harmony is not guaranteed.

Calling someone "far right" for asking questions or being concerned about uncontrolled immigration & high rates of illegal immigration is exactly like being called "transphobic" for wanting women only spaces or not agreeing TWAW.

It's a weapon designed to get people to shut up and stop asking questions or talking about important issues. They think we will quake in fear at these names and STFU.

It worked for a while but as more people wake up to these tactics they are shrugging the silliness of these abusive labels and talking more.

Most people don't want to be called far right/transphobic etc. But when a person eventually realises what's going on, like the op, they shrug and say ok then, call me what you want but I will still discuss these issues.

huge swathes of very normal central, right leaning & left leaning people are now being called "far right" and "transphobic". It doesn't help anyone or anything.

It just makes people more resentful

I'm in Greater London and feel like the area I was born in has changed beyond recognition and then you become a minority.

No I havent actually. Presumably he did stop the prosecutions. Ultimately he is responsible for the.decsions of his department. For something this big one would assume he would be involved in the decision not to prosecute. Hopefully there will be a national enquiry as to the decisions made, possibly once he's resigned.

He's PM now. He needs to be scrutinised.as do all the decision makers regarding the grooming gangs from the lowest to highest level. Remember...if he's got nothing to hide regarding his decision making, he will have nothing to worry about.

I can’t help but feel that it would have been better to discover the alleged failures of Starmer before he became the PM as this would have better prevented him from gaining power. I wonder why the Tories didn’t do this?

WhatTheFudges · 04/01/2025 20:30

Absolutely Starmer should hold some of the responsibility for the failings behind the Child rapes, and we all know the main reason behind the soft approach.

The joke behind that is everyone is scared about being seen as raciest but I’m sure a lot of people who are not English came here to benefit from the country and the laws we hold. I bet all the women and children would prefer the police to be onside with human kind rather pandering to race, it would improve their lives 10 fold! A 15 year old child was beaten by her dad in broad daylight with a metal pole and wasn’t even charged! I’m sure she rather laws were followed regardless of race, maybe it would give her a chance not to be murdered before she is 30 years old.

Because you will probably find that their failings are of equal measure!
Sweep this under the rug to save society from civil unrest and racism.

bombastix · 04/01/2025 20:32

The amusing idea is that the police look after women overall from sexual assault is not borne out by successful prosecution. Instead some appear to be sex offenders themselves.

And by the same logic some posters expect the PM to fall on his sword? Either they are naive or they haven’t met a politician in their lives.

Well TBF Starmer has stuffed the economy worse than Liz Truss in all the measures she was judged on and she resigned. Why shouldn't he? Put the guy out of his misery!!

bombastix · 04/01/2025 20:38

Don’t be daft. Starmer has the support of his party. Truss had nothing. Her own people wanted her gone

Except there have been and still are active investigations into CSE, perpetrators brought to court AND convicted. So it is happening.
