Ah there we go - its only progessive if she is black with left leaning views...

These right wing BAME women just dont know their place do they......

And yes I am being sarcastic

Edited

No you are sounding even more silly. What are these policies that are progressive, the ones that you apparently admire?

This has nothing to do with the colour of her skin or her sex. Indeed, it's racist to suppose that this makes her any better or worse at this or any other job.

By the way, I never usually do this but just can't resist here.

'These BAME women just dont know there place do they......'

It's their place (not there).

@Todaywasbetter
@Llhaaf

"Angela is the opposite of Kemi. Looks bizarre, is as clear as mud and always comes across as either aggressive or confused. Or both. It’s embarrassing to watch."

"Actually, there are big similarities between them. That’s why we will see more of Rayner.
Both very clear strong speakers and the kind of woman that men tell to shut up."

I can see the point here. Many people voted Labour in the basis "they can't be any worse than the Tories ", but over the next five years will become increasingly frustrated (not moving quickly enough) or angry (too left wing).

Come 2029 I can see a further shift to the left under Rayner and a further shift to the right under Badenoch.

Raynor will never be the leader of Labour, they are not that daft

Llhaaf · 02/11/2024 15:00

Angela is more like the UK’s Kamala Harris. I don’t believe she is anything like Kemi. Kemi is leaps and bounds ahead politically.

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 02/11/2024 15:00

Oooh I bet Labour won’t like that. Excellent choice. Delighted 🤩

peanutbuttertoasty · 02/11/2024 15:01

Rayner absolutely revels in her ignorance and lack of education. Kemi is extremely articulate. There’s no comparison.

Dweetfidilove · 02/11/2024 15:02

She is an intelligent woman with steely determination, who has achieved something amazing. For that I am proud of her.

While her politics is not my cup of tea, I look forward to her taking the PM to task. I hope she doesn't disappoint.

What I admire about her courageous policy, it is progressive is her commitment to designing a proper plan for integration that has been woefully lacking in the UK for decades. She plans to control the numbers of new arrivals and we might finally secure the borders. To finally deliver the wish of most British people.

I believe she is unafraid to speak her mind and she is just what this country needs.

EasternStandard · 02/11/2024 15:02

rainingsnoring · 02/11/2024 14:52

So what exactly are her policies? I'm sure you know after listening to her being eloquent on Radio 4.

You do actually need to listen if you want to know, as she ran a good campaign about how she'll formulate her policies

I am pretty sure Labour would be more nervous if Cleverly got the leadership job

No doubt labours next leader will be the geezer dressed in sparkles telling us he knows more about women’s lives than we do. It’s all just fake, the woke agenda, the whole she bang.

Fucking hell. Back in the real world, people don’t care that much about “woke”. People are more concerned about actually being able to afford their homes and feed their children. Outstanding that posters on here think that Kemi is amazing for women just because of her views on trans people. She’s actively voted against women and children’s best interests her entire political career. How can you be so consumed by hatred of a tiny tiny group of people you’d be willing to overlook that. Disgusting.

Really? If I were a Labour person I'd be delighted. I'm not a Labour person and I'm delighted.

It's a bit weird that the Tory party have chosen today to announce their new policy wrt Votes of No Confidence. They could have just let her have her moment.

User37482 · 02/11/2024 15:05

PrinnyPree · 02/11/2024 14:08

Ah but none of that matters as long as she's against trans rights... 🙄😬

She'd also be a horror to alot of women in this country, (especially WoC) as women are the poorest demographic so austerity measures hit us hardest.

Not really, depends doesn’t it. Some WOC are on average more educated and wealthier than their white counterparts. We aren’t all poor and oppressed.

BiggerBoat1 · 02/11/2024 15:05

Awful woman. I am a member of the Labour Party, but I think this important to have a strong and credible opposition. This appointment does not help anyone.

The esteemed Bank Manager (with an approval rating of minus 30) and his Iron Chancellor will lose the next election all by themselves. Five years of higher mortgage costs, higher food prices, higher energy costs, higher rents, low growth, economic stagnation and higher taxes will not endear this administration to the electorate.

Let’s just remind ourselves where those higher mortgage rates suddenly sprang from before we start name calling.

I think it's good that both Labour and Conservative voters are delighted she's been elected. Who'd have thought that?

Did you miss her recent comments on maternity rights?

Or her voting history when it comes to making abortion easier to access ?
She is not on women’s side. I encourage everyone to look up her voting history in general, quite an eye opener.

I have heard her speak a few times and am perfectly happy to listen to more. Indeed, we will all be forced to now!
I was responding to a couple of other posters who were suggesting that her policies were progressive. I have only seen regressive remarks from her myself. They haven't been able to respond and have resorted to insults which doesn't exactly create a great impression.

What are you implying let me guess... You're wrong but nice try.

I am interested in this line from Labour that Cleverly was the more imposing choice

I really don't see it. I'm delighted Kemi won, I think she has the best chance to win the GE too. It seems to me most who think Cleverly would be better are Labour voters. He would be a soft sell, and really not able to hold Starmer to account like Kemi is about to

I assume you mean the Tories, do you remember 14 years ago when Labour left the country bankrupt and someone has had to try and sort it? Same thing that will happen in 5 years, if they last that long

I agree. It's so sad how much hatred is in these people. These hateful politicians have convinced them that everyone else is to blame, instead of they themselves. Sadly, most people are not intelligent enough to see through the propaganda.
