@Alexandra2001

"Yes should Labour fail to get debt down and improve public services, then i think we'll see a very strong Reform vote."

Reform is still very much a protest vote and Farage is very much just a "noise maker " rather than a serious politician with actual policies or vision that offers a serious alternative to running the country.

I think a lot of the previous Reform vote will drift back to the Conservatives under KB.

Please lets hope not.

Angela is the opposite of Kemi. Looks bizarre, is as clear as mud and always comes across as either aggressive or confused. Or both. It’s embarrassing to watch.

cheezncrackers · 02/11/2024 11:24

Well I like her. She's a strong, eloquent woman who has a record of standing up for women.

When did she stand up for women? When she dissed them for taking maternity leave? 🙄🙄🙄

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 02/11/2024 13:28

Alexandra2001 · 02/11/2024 13:09

Her voting record on Abortion, for most women, should be a worry, i hope as leader, her views moderate, we don't need Republican politics here in the UK.

This! ^

And to think Labour haven’t even managed to have single female leader yet - I am just incredulous that this is acceptable within the party, and why haven’t they insisted on having their own version of Kemi?

The closest Labour have ever got was Dianne Abbott!!!!

Exactly It's utterly farcical that anyone would suggest she is pro-women!

The Conservatives will NEVER get back into power with her as leader. I'll bet my house on that. In fact, I doubt that she will even be leader by the next General Election.

She won't thank you for mentioning her race...

As a brown woman I don’t think my race is the most important thing about me. I think thats fine. I certainly don’t think it should predict my politics either. Also think thats fine.

That’s just rubbish and her comments were taken out of context.

FilthMerchant · 02/11/2024 13:33

Selective feminism from MN. She's a black woman who has worked her way up and now holds her highest position. Should be applauded.

There was a recent thread on here saying she'd blown the leadership race, and there have been many posts that the party membership wouldn't vote for her

So I'm a bit dubious about how much Kemi can't be a success because some believe adamantly that will be the case

But is it not important to you and to your children, grandchildren to have representation? To lead, to be decision makers to potentially lead the entire country?

You may not agree with the politics

I think we will see a lot more of Angela Rayner.

In Ibiza?

I think Harriet Harman was leader for a bit after Ed Milliband ran off for a cry and a hide under the bed.

LOL.

There were unconfirmed rumours she was tipped to replace Vorderman on Countdown - back in the day…

Difference being Labour are redistributing the wealth.

Are they? You honestly believe that?

Redistributing the wealth out of the UK - as capital takes flight….

fussychica · 02/11/2024 13:37

Well at least it's not Jenrick!

Echobelly · 02/11/2024 13:40

She won't make it to the election.

Much as I think she's an awful person and I have no time for her, she's a woman of colour in charge of an ailing organisation, so she'll be shoved off the glass cliff by people complaining all the party's problems are because of her gender and race. So I don't feel sorry for her, but it still sucks that this is generally the case for women in leadership so often.

Quercus30 · 02/11/2024 13:40

FilthMerchant · 02/11/2024 13:33

A true feminist wouldn't shit down on women ( and their children) when she gets there.

lifeturnsonadime · 02/11/2024 13:40

Kemi's job is not to please Labour voters.

Labour benefitted from the split to the right of centre, She will want to win back the Reform voters and I think she is the most likely to achieve that.

The Conservatives clearly recognise in order to move forward they need to win back the Reform voters.

Kemi also is able to stand up for herself she demonstrated that by standing up against the ERG when it came to their wants for hardline Brexit.

She's no pushover.

She also is on the right side of the identity politics debate.

pilates · 02/11/2024 13:41

Well done to her - she comes across well 👌
Not sure why will it be entertaining?
