Or woman.

Yep. Given that labour don’t seem to know what a woman actually is. Or a working person for that matter.

Rosscameasdoody · 02/11/2024 13:11

Where ? What exactly is there in the budget that will benefit working people ?
Edited to take out ‘the working man’ and replace with working people.

Exactly. I believe it’s been confirmed that we are all just getting poorer. (Some graph on Sky or BBC can’t remember).

And all this money they are ‘investing’ into services aren’t going to make a blind bit of difference to us, as there are thousands of people coming to the country adding to the lists and needing care/ schooling etc

So in four years, we’ll be poorer. Services will be just as bad and they’ll be talking about needing to raise taxes again.

Excellent - the Cons will be out of power for even longer.

So a large number of voters voted for Labour because " well they they can't be any worse than the Tories ".

Given the level of Government debt and inability to raise taxes much further without triggering a financial meltdown then quite frankly there is not a lot Labour can actually do.

Come 2029 I can see a lurch to the right that we are already seeing across Europe and the US.

EasternStandard · 02/11/2024 13:14

Rosscameasdoody · 02/11/2024 13:12

Never. Labour voter all my life. Not particularly impressed with Starmers’ mob so far to be honest.

Well I will agree with you there, but Kemi doesn't need to convince someone who has only ever voted Labour and I think the posts re how they've messed up on the leader are mostly coming from people who would never entertain voting for them anyway

Which is fine, but not so relevant

Yes should Labour fail to get debt down and improve public services, then i think we'll see a very strong Reform vote.

Badenoch will either have to take the Cons into the centre or out extreme Reform.

Will be interesting to see which path she takes.

@ilovesooty @BIossomtoes

So you think it’s nasty because:

  1. We should struggle ourselves to help mil, despite her politics of envy making her worse off and despite the fact we can’t afford to pay her fuel bills?
  2. I just shouldn’t admit to feeling this way about her?
Labour did this to her. Very nasty indeed.

Dont let the bullies get to you Lihaaf.

Llhaaf · 02/11/2024 13:18

Kemi is smart, stylish, clear and an excellent role model. Lots of common sense and quite honest, for example she was upfront that she could understand Kier taking perks as it’s expensive to be in government unless you’re rich. Now whilst I’d prefer they didn’t take gifts, I’d rather a leader not be all pious about it and do it behind our backs.

This is the thread that keeps on giving.

"We need a strong and articulate opposition"

So why did they pick Kemi?

Didn't Labour winning prove that you don't?

I'm hoping that when I go to my place of work ( as a woman) I won't be constantly shitting myself that the building isn't about to collapse around me and all the kids. I may,in the not to distant future, be able to book a GP appointment ( although this may not be imminent due to the last government's scorched earth policy.) I'm also looking forward to having improved rights as an employee. I'm not on minimum wage but I'm pleased that those who are will receive more for the hard work they do making money for business owners.

The Tories didn't know what a woman was in their tenure. They allowed themselves to be steamrolled by trans activists. Is that an inconvenient truth or are you going to keep pointing the finger at those that weren't in power?

If you think Badenoch is a feminist, you're in for a shock. It will be interesting to see the reaction of all the single issue voters when they realise the truth.

1dayatatime · 02/11/2024 13:20

@EasternStandard

All clear.

In any event regardless of anyone's politics KB is not a shy lass and she will definitely be holding Labour to account as well as generating a few headlines!

FilthMerchant · 02/11/2024 13:21

She's well liked by GB News so she'll do for me.

Savingthehedgehogs · 02/11/2024 13:21

And to think Labour haven’t even managed to have single female leader yet - I am just incredulous that this is acceptable within the party, and why haven’t they insisted on having their own version of Kemi?

Don't be daft LOL

Savingthehedgehogs · 02/11/2024 13:22

Starmer and co will be very worried about this development, that’s for sure. Interesting that the conservatives have also overtaken Labour in the polls (already)

Have I wandered into an alternate universe. She's absolutely vile. It's a bad thing for everyone that someone that holds the views she does is in parliament.

Yawn.

Petrine · 02/11/2024 13:23

Really pleased to see that she’s been elected.

She’s a feisty woman… should make debate in the house interesting! Starmer will be no match for her.

Todaywasbetter · 02/11/2024 13:24

I think we will see a lot more of Angela Rayner.

Have you ever voted Conservative?

Yes. I have. Multiple times. I have never voted Labour until the last election.

LadyGabriella · 02/11/2024 13:25

Some of her comments on women getting too much maternity leave were a bit weird.

teatoast8 · 02/11/2024 13:26

Definitely don't want tories back in if she thinks maternity is generous
