This is a thread for chit chat, banter, memes and emojis about current politics.

It is NOT intended as a fight club.

It is NOT intended as a place to rehash old arguments about the merits (or otherwise) of Brexit - please pop over to the Brexit forum for that.

Politics threads sometimes attract posters who make personal attacks or who hold their views so very strongly that they find it hard to be respectful of other opinions. Please do not engage with such posters; MN has a handy report button for any posts that fall outside their posting guidelines.

Now, pull up a bar stool, and I'm sure one of our lovely staff will be over with a menu shortly.

I personally didn't like the 'code words' used in the other threads. Nuts at the end of the bar, fruitcake anyone?, whether bleach or zoflora was best for removing mould etc.
Hopefully that sort of thing will be absent from now on.

Its really is annoying that the SNP are demanding a say in the English NHS whilst English MPs have no say over the Scottish NHS. Its is so childish and obviously only to try and further their Nationalist agenda.

Thanks goodness Bercow has been sacked or it could have been a right constitutional issue.

I have noticed however being viciously jumped on any time I made a comment, in the good faith in the westminders threads or most threads on the brexit board.

I've seen Goady, pushing trolling posters on here however, repeatedly welcomed... Posters trying to be kind in between the Vile insults. Mn hq doing nothing then a poster snaps.

Not too great at code words myself Pingu - didn't matter to me, I'd just roll up and do my thing and was never was made to feel the worse for it, just pretty much welcome.

Although I did actually appreciate the 'surroundings', cuisine, Ale, Optics, atmosphere and the range of converstions that I could eavesdrop on and often rudely interject myself into.

But most of all I enjoyed my role as 'log monitor' and keeping the 'fire' burning. I think there's a good fireplace in here, just need it confirming by our new LL.

In case anyone was worried about 'H' (which I'm sure you're not as they are so very, very difficult) - H is still round mine (annoying the shit out of me) and I've told 'em that the rockers will be around the fire shortly.

I've brought a cord or 2 of logs and - fancy that - H too, to help unload them (whilst I leave'm and run like the wind).

How bizarre...and unfair.

I've read back over the thread too - all I can see are certain posters being repeatedly passive aggressive with their interjections... despite being asked repeatedly not to do it.

I don't understand whether it's the topics discussed or the retorts to the retorts that are the problem? There doesn't seem to be much point in trying to debate anything under these conditions.

Sorry if saying this has now jeopardised this thread too.....I just can't believe what's happened.

I'd be delighted if hate would be in charge of the log fire, if someone would usher in phwoar Dom to help serve the cocktails, if lily would be willing to serve breakfast etc etc.

I've not been a regular all that long, and have no business starting the new thread really. Hoping we can get on with dissecting oor ian's latest parliamentary antics asap 😃

Ok- I've lit the fire and will stand by to get it going (thx Omm for letting me 'take over' the fireplace); have stacked a day or 2 of logs by the fireplace to keep it going and a weeks worth outside.

I managed to grab the 'rockers' from The Arms before the developers moved in to 'architecturize' the building into something unrecognizeable for their 'londoney mates' wishing for a rural 'bolthole'.

And a Third Rocker too - currently with H's arse firmly implanted upon it. Anyway, fire's taken, so built up - I'll be back later an maybe by then Arse will have formulated their solution to the 'problem' of educating our 'autistic' children - after all I'm not the only poster here that is interested to hear (yet) another pov on this.

My advice to all, based on a recent conversation with mnhq, is: stay within posting guidelines. If you see posts that don't seem to be within posting guidelines, report but don't engage.

and from me as landlady (temporary, I hope!) Try to stay on topic of actual politics talk so this thread is actually worth having...

Thank you for the advice Omm - however I do find the explanation somewhat weak, if these 'principles' of posting were unilaterally employed for all threads across all the boards there would be more threads 'pulled'.

I've asked for an explanation through other 'channels' but so far have not received any.

I'll reserve my opinion on this, it is possible that the thread was pulled at the request of a regular, and so I will treat this circumstance as the equivalent of being issued with a D-notice.

Ask no questions get told no lies - although I wouldn't have expected MN to be the first Controller to do this....

stay within posting guidelines I wish we knew what that meant. I think most people try to but we are never told what guideline we are actually breaking. The only way to follow the guidelines seems to be not to post any actual views and opinions. 😓
