I'm still in bed, been awake ages, but still here as it's warm and safe. Stopped watching TV, and just pottering around when up.

I'm calling it the Great Global Sleep - the quiet is now very noticeable.

It looks like there's a reconfiguration going on - the best I can say for now is that the 'status' of the Carer, Shelf Stacker, Delivery Driver , etc is being raised.

It appears that styling the latest cushions and commenting on the best lipstick for your friends to wear isn't really worth as much as the marketers and their recipients think.

Although we are indeed in turbulent times, in general there is a lot of goodwill around and it's like people are realising that to help and be helped is OK. Even the government redistributing our future taxes to allow people (well, some of them), to continue to put food on the table and feed their families. A recognition that important, necessary work cannot be measured in salary alone, it's an amazing transformation. I think I'll call it 'Socialist Tendencies' and pray that the philosophy continues.
