Have children educated at state school
Use the NHS for ANY reason
Have children considering going to university
Have elderly parents who will require state support
Use public transport
Are a teacher, health professional, public sector worker
Live in rented accommodation
Are a low paid worker

You are a hypocrite of the highest order Angry

I wouldn't vote Tory if you paid me, living in an area where 'virgin care' have now taken over a lot of the local services makes me want to cry, they just privatize and sell off everything they can whenever they're in power.

vote for the party and the policies not for the people
What you are sold in the media about personalities is all endless crap
Don't believe the media hype about party personalities

Unless you use private education/healthcare then you are incredibly naive in voting conservative. When Cameron came in, he said the conservatives would cut NHS funding but it wouldn't affect frontline care. It was patent bollocks- waiting lists have soared, A&E is a mess, mental health care has crumbled. We're back to where we were in 1996. Lansleys reforms have buggered up the funding system. Cuts to local government have pulled the rug from social care adding further burden to the NHS.

Gove has buggered up the exam system and that's before we even start on school funding cuts. My friends that work in teaching are already seeing the effects of this, especially in deprived areas. It breaks my heart that a generation of kids will have their access to a decent education destroyed. How can any government think that the best way to support society is through destroying educational prospects for the young? I genuinely don't get it. It's short termism at its worst. Schools are an easy target for cuts but the long term ramifications are massive.

If you genuinely think that A Conservative government is going to look after the welfare state then you your head is buried so deep in the sand it's probably in Australia. They will dismantle it, as they have done so, drip by drip, for the last 35 years. Then it will be your kids who have to live without free health and social care. Who have to carry the burden of the cost of their elderly parents. I'm sure they'll thank you.

If you don't want to vote labour that's fair enough (I'm not a Corbyn fan either) but that doesn't mean you have to vote conservative. Use. Your. Brains. Do you want a welfare state? Then don't vote Tory. It is that simple, it really really is.

As for the economy Grin You're taking the piss, surely? If May et al. continue on their current path we will end up crashing out of the EU and then our economy will be totally screwed. It's beyond me why anyone thinks they're even remotely competent to get the deal that we need. Shouting loudly doesn't mean that what you're saying is correct, does it? May is all talk and absolutely zero substance.

When did this country lose its collective ability to think critically?!

I keep waiting for the Conservatives to do something, ANYTHING sensible but, nope. It's just all empty sound bites, slogans and shouting at the EU. If you're taken in by that then you're either rich or a fool.

"Don't vote for personalities"? Sounds like desperation to me.
This is a horrible situation. I hate the Tories. I voted Remain. Where were Labour, then.
Don't fecking guilt trip me when some if the most economically deprived areas of the UK voted Leave and got us in the mess we are in now. Helped by JC and his team.

I don't vote tory, and I'm not ashamed of myself! Confused

I have a (voluntary) role in hospital governance.

As such I don't think there is anything more galling to read than this 'vote labour to save the nhs' nonsense.

The labour party, in government, placed the NHS under a burden of debt through PFI that has crippled it.

The UK PFI debt is FOUR times the size of the budget deficit used to justify austerity.

When you actually see, on a spreadsheet, where the NHS funding is going down the toilet to pay this back it beggars belief.

"The NHS has more than 100 PFI hospitals. The original cost of these 100 institutions was around £11.5bn. In the end, they will cost the public purse nearly £80bn. The total UK PFI debt is over £300bn for projects worth only £55bn".

Save the NHS (if its not too late) by not voting labour.

How about you stop throwing insults about and grow up OP?

I won't vote Labour whilst Corbyn is in charge and going by the results there are a very large number of us.

AND how do you think the conservatives will help the NHS, Ginny? What have they done that's alleviated the situation? I also work with NHS funding and as far as I can see they have just made it far, far worse.
Labour made some big mistakes with the NHS but they were trying to fix the damage done under 18 years of conservative rule. Did labour put in place the internal market? The management systems (who were responsible for the poor PFI deals) were put in place by the conservatives. Labour tried to fix the NHS and failed. The conservatives actively try to destroy it. Labour are the lesser of two evils when it comes to the NHS.

The main thing that irks me about Tory voters is when they bleat about caring for the poor/vulnerable/disabled. No you dont. These people are so far down your list they might as well not be on it. I have some acquaintances that vote Tory but I have some sort of respect for them (even thought i vehemently and fundementally disagree with them) as at least they are honest. They openly admit they believe that most disabled and benefit claimants are on the fiddle/get too much financial help and want these reduced, in line with what the Torys are doing.

I wonder how many people who vote conservative because they don't like Corbyn are going to look at the landscape after the election with Corbyn gone, a huge Tory majority and nothing anyone can do to stop them implementing whatever shitty ideas they like (there is money for schools, they've just been spending it on land for free schools that never open or immediately shut down wasting millions), and think 'bugger'. 5 years of unfettered Tory rule.

Corbyn isn't going to win. No chance of that at all. A vote for Labour/Lib Dems isn't a vote for Corbyn or Farron as Prime Minister, it's a vote against a massive Tory majority.

That's how I feel Noble. It's the complete lack of an opposition that scares me about the next 5 years. If the current Cons were even a competent looking bunch of people I might feel less scared but they're awful. I have no faith in their ability to run a country, none whatsoever. It's just all bluster and hubris with few sensible, solid ideas.

Not voting Tory. May vote LibDem (dislike them a lot but least of the three). Or Green. If they stand in our constituency.

Bolshy as I said in my post, I'm not a tory, and have no idea how if at all the tory's could fix the nhs, thanks.

When you look at the figures, I think those dodgy FPI deals have made it unsalvageable, long term, by any party.

Funnily enough this doesn't make me want to vote labour.. it just makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth when I read crap about labour being good for the NHS.

Labour as a party are disunited in many ways - but individual Labour MPs in parliament can still oppose and challenge, and that, if you don't want a Tory govt who can do whatever they like whenever they like, is what you vote for.

Same goes for other parties, of course.

If you're undecided as to who to vote for then this is pretty handy uk.isidewith.com/political-quiz

It's your vote, your choice. However I just plead with you to put party politics to one side and please please vote with the NHS in mind. The NHS is one of our most precious resources and is one of the best healthcare systems in the world (despite often biased negative news stories that try to convince otherwise). The NHS is amazing and would be absolutely destroyed by privatisation, just take a look at the disastrous healthcare/insurance system in the USA where it would cost you $10k to have a bog standard vaginal birth for eg (and even more should interventions be necessary). Or if you have pre existing condition (ranging from angina to Alzheimer's) you won't be able to have any insurance (if trumps new proposed medical bill goes through...). Let's not have that disaster here!

I have been a nurse in the nhs for 8 years. Prior to that I was a student nurse for 3 years. I have 11 years of experience of the nhs.

Things are getting worse and worse and worse. If you vote Tory you're signing away the NHS - I hope you all have private health insurance as a back up!

I don't care if you don't like Jeremy Corbyn. What's more important, liking the PM or having accessible free and top class health care for yourselves and your families?
