I'm not great at understanding politics, but as I've got to vote next week I thought I'd show some interest, watch the various debates, question time and read their manifestos. I've heard a lot of opinions such as Jc is so lovely, he's for the people, believes in peace, has an allotment etc. I've heard the hatred for tm, she wants bring fox hunting back, she's out of touch, she has no children so what does she know. How she was slaughtered on question time last night.

I've actually tried to like Jc as many of my friends support him, but I just can't see why they love him so much, I didn't feel he was warm and for the people at all. We personally wouldn't be better off under a labour government anyway. I just don't feel he is a strong enough leader, he wants it be a lovely world, don't we all but I can't see how he's going to successfully accomplish that.

Tm I don't love her, there's a lot wrong with a Tory government but she to me does come across as a stonger leader, more intelligent and sounds a bit more like she knows what she's doing! I don't put all this shit all over fb as each to their own and I don't want fall outs but these are my personal feelings ATM!!

The Tories have borrowed 67.5% of UK national debt since 1946
Posted on November 13 2019

In an election where lies will play an important part in the messages some parties will deliver some facts will help. Start with these.

Overall since 1946 and through to the end of the 2019/19 financial year Labour has been, overall, in office for 28 years and the Tories for 45.

In that time according to the House of Commons Library net total government borrowing has been £1,618 billion: £155 billion of borrowing predated that period, most paying for WW2.

Of that sum 67.5%, or £1.092 billion was borrowed by the Tories. 32.5% or £526 billion was borrowed by Labour.

The Tories have been in office for longer, of course. Restated per year the Tories have borrowed £24.3 billion a year on average in historic prices.

Labour has borrowed £18.8 billion a year on average.

Labour repaid debt in 7 years. The Tories in just 4.

In current prices Labour has borrowed approximately £28 billion a year and the Tories £33.6 billion.

The Tories are always the party that borrows most.

I am not saying there is anything wrong with that. But when the Tories seek to make borrowing a sign of economic mismanagement they need to worry: they are the borrowing party.

Former Tory PM John Major, former Tory Deputy PM Michael Hesletine, and former Tory Party stalwart and Chancellor Ken Clarke turned their backs on the Party they had served for decades, urging voters to not vote Tory because of Johnson's extremist government .....

Now the likes of Tommy Robinson, Katie Hopkins and former BNP Councillor and current leader of the extreme right wing, racist, Britain First rushed to join the Tory party. However many members and followers of Britain First join the Tories, they clearly feel emboldened by their perception that Johnson's government represents them and their extreme politics.

you lost get over it.

By the way, the best way to counteract the Tories at the moment and promote the highest level of scrutiny would be for Corbyn to step down immediately and install an interim leader. The question you should be asking yourself is who would be best to hold the government to account.

Look at that, non-Corbyn people can type a paragraph without using the words "extreme", "racist", "media conspiracy" etc. Perhaps there might be a lesson to learn there?

Reuters: 'Exclusive: The Brits who won't Brexit'
.

'Cyprus government documents seen by Reuters show that Conservative Party donors have sought citizenship of the island, an EU member state, since Britain voted to leave the bloc in 2016.

They include billionaire Alan Howard, one of Britain’s best-known hedge fund managers, and Jeremy Isaacs, the former head of Lehman Brothers for Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Cyprus’ interior ministry recommended that both men’s applications be approved, the government documents show.

'..That some Brits who made a career out of assessing risk have applied for second passports may suggest sagging confidence in Britain’s economy after it leaves the EU. A broker who makes his living handling such passports says he’s seen a surge of enquiries from Brits looking for ways to keep their European Union citizenship.

“Brexit is the only factor driving this,” says Paul Williams, chief executive of passport brokerage La Vida Golden Visas. The right to live, work, study or set up business anywhere in Europe, says Williams, “that all changes with Brexit.”

My MP conservative, voted.

although I didn't vote for him. Couldn't vote conservative because I was aware of their nhs views and DLA-PIP views of anyone with a disability.

This has made me very sad. Sad

I agree. Work in the health and social sector, and honestly you wouldn’t treat dogs the way elderly are treated in this country.

It’s an utter disgrace and no one gives a shit.

You don't vote tory because you care about everyone's experience and life chances.
I can't give any fucks about personality. It's empty, pointless, vacuous.
I vote for a party that brings everyone up.
