More on the meaning of Trump, the Trumpsters and Trumpism

OP posts:
FrostyLeaves · 29/11/2016 10:36

Tbh it was more the killing that put me off Castro and Che.

FrostyLeaves · 29/11/2016 10:38

I suppose I don't judge Trump as likely to cause nuclear destruction, nor do I fear Putin in that regard.

squishysquirmy · 29/11/2016 10:41

That was a very interesting article WouldHave.
Lets hope that Trump listens to the right advice about this (and about a lot of other issues).

FrostyLeaves · 29/11/2016 10:45

Trump has spent his life slagging off people apparently; Twitter's just a new stick to poke with .

I try to speak kindly in my life as it improves the atmosphere, now this was an innovation in the family and corner of society I was born into! ButI was brought up to draw a massive distinction between words and actions and maybe that's why I can't get too worked up by what I see as "trash talk".

Alyosha · 29/11/2016 10:46

I don't fear Putin re: Nukes, but I do fear him re: a conventional war.

Basically he is the expansionist imperial power, Trump is the global power who thinks he's his mate, Britain is piggy in the middle, and will only intervene when Russia invades Poland.

Welcome to conventional WW3.

I fear Trump because he has no self control and thinks he knows best. So if a US base is attacked abroad, or if he gets into a trade war with China and the US embassy is attacked, or if one of his Trump towers is attacked by an Iranian surrogate...I think he will reach for the Nuke button.

And no one can stop him.

squishysquirmy · 29/11/2016 10:46

Trump does have a worrying attitude to nukes.

I don't think that nuclear destruction is very likely to happen, but I think it is more likely than it would be with anyone else in power. Even his biggest fans admit he is so unpredictable - no one knows for certain what his limits are.

I don't think Putin would ever strike first - he is too clever and calculating for that. One of the arguments against the nuclear deterrent was "what if a madman gets his hands on them?" Trump is certainly impulsive, don't know quite how mad he is yet, of course.

"I'm not here to defend Sharia courts either Chris. Although they do not take precedence over the Courts, and you are being misleading if you imply that they are."

But they do.

Muslim Arbitration Tribunals, now offers dispute resolution in half a dozen British cities. When asked to divide up assets, say in inheritance cases, they follow Islamic law, giving daughters half that of sons. The tribunals say they operate under the Arbitration Act of 1996. That makes rulings binding once both parties have given authority to the arbitrator. And we allow it.

Take divorce. A UK muslim wife can divorce under UK law. If however she wishes to remarry, as a muslim, she must obtain an islamic divorce before remarriage. All well and good so far, religious respect and all that, however, under the islamic divorce offered by the council she must give up her civil divorce settlement awarded under UK law.

Then dont start me on polygamous marriages and rights to remain, state benefits etc.....

If you wish to live as a muslim in the UK, sharia law top trumps UK law. Not only do we allow it to happen, we encourage over 30 councils and 80 plus sharia courts. Our legal stance of, well stop being a muslim, is ridiculous.

Alyosha · 29/11/2016 10:48

Trump's actions follow his words.

He said he grabbed women by the pussy.
He did grab women by the pussy.

He said he would give himself a massive tax cut.
He is giving himself a massive tax cut.

He said he would keep running his businesses and use the presidency to gain an advantage.
He is running his businesses and using his office to gain monetarily.

He said he would get rid of Obamacare.
He is getting rid of Obamacare.

squishysquirmy · 29/11/2016 10:49

"And no one can stop him"

Technically no, but in practice I wonder what some of the people surrounding him would do if he really went that far? Although they may have no constitutional right to stop him, who's to say what his generals, security staff etc will do? All it takes is one person with a conscience and the will to disobey orders. That's what I'm hoping for if the shit hits the fan anyway - a brave traitor.

claig · 29/11/2016 10:51

I am sorry, I have posted it before, but it is so good, in case anyone hasn't seen it. It is the soundtrack for the revolution. It is from "Americans 4 Trump" but it applies to all "People of the World 4 Trump"

It has clips of the great people who made it all happen, the American people, the Trumpsters, the Stump for Trump Sisters are right at the heart of it, the Deplorables are all there and of course the revolutionary El Presidente himself, Donaldo J Trumpismo

I watched all the Labour political class types on BBC Newsnight trying to gloss over the torture and locking up of gay people in Cuba in the revolution they all liked because it ws anti American and anti capitalism and anti freedom, carried out by men in military uniforms.

They love revolutions like that but they hate real revolutions that are people's revolutions without any torture or locking up of gay people.

They hate the Trump Revolution. The political class hate Trump. The EU hate Trump. That is why we love Trump

Go Trump! Go Trumpsters! USA! Save us from the people trying to end our free speech in Europe!

Here is the soundtrack to a real people's revolution, not a Castro bloodbath, with firing squads and a nightmare and it happned in the country all the socialists hate - the capitalist USA and it was carried out by someone all the Oxbridge socialists hate - a businessman who is a billionaire, never was a SPAD, never was a "career politician", just an unpolitically correct favourite of the people.

Turn it up loud. Join the people. It's a revolution. They will never beat the people. They will never take our free speech!

Chris - Islam is super sexist, as are most religions.

However if you submit yourself to arbitration you must accept the outcome.

Similar to Beth Din tribunals, or Roman Catholic canon law disputes.

There is a lot of cultural pressure to submit to arbitration, so the best idea would be to get rid of all religious arbitration in matters of inheritance divorce etc. You'll have to get both Muslims, Jews & Christians on board with that though...

Alyosha · 29/11/2016 10:54

Squishy - let's hope so!

I hope the generals won't follow his orders. He has insulted so many of them after all.

claig · 29/11/2016 10:56

As Trump alwayw says "Never give up. Never give in. Keep trying, keep winning"

Keep taking the piss out of the "very, very stupid people" we are led by. We are going to win and "we will never get tired of winning".

OP posts:
FrostyLeaves · 29/11/2016 10:58

I haven't studied this carefully but I heard he had been recorded talking with a man then i saw a clip where on meeting the woman he was shaking her hand?

I thought on policy he was being attacked by press for NOT following through on what he had been shouting on the stump?

So u turns on "Lock her up!" , "Build a wall!" and Obama care.

squishysquirmy · 29/11/2016 11:02

Chris, the inheritance thing does not happen across the UK - in Scotland it is illegal to disenherit your children, for example, so that law overrides Sharia law. If you think that law should be extended to the rest of the UK - campaign for that!

Lots of religions provide marriages and divorces in parallel to UK law. Those marriages and divorces don't take precedent over legal marriages and divorces, and they shouldn't. Polygamous marriages aren't legally recognised, but it is hard to ban them without banning polygamous relationships.

The fact that some Muslim women may be pressured into using the Sharia system to their disadvantage is deeply troubling. There are charities that help, advise and advocate for marginalised women. You could get involved or donate to those Chris if this issue worries you so much?
Islamophobia is not going to help those women. It will make it harder for them to report abuse, harder for them to access help and advice and will make them too scared of the repercussions (deportation etc) to leave unhappy marriages.

Alyosha · 29/11/2016 11:02

Not sure what you're saying Frosty, hard to read?

Read this article - Trump is doing EXACTLY what he said he would, we were right to take his crazy literally: www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2016/11/28/13728086/trump-literally-and-seriously

FrostyLeaves · 29/11/2016 11:02

Sorry too rushed.

FrostyLeaves · 29/11/2016 11:03

Have found vox links to be trash , sorry.

fourmummy · 29/11/2016 11:07

Very astute, Claig. Revolutions are, of course, usually pre-planned, financed and agitated to serve somebody's purpose. You are correct in that this one is very different because, for once, it's an actual, genuine revolution. It's very, very different. It also puts paid to the elites' soundtrack, embodied in Blair, that people are stupid and just need someone to follow.

squishysquirmy · 29/11/2016 11:09

".....but they hate real revolutions that are people's revolutions without any torture or locking up of gay people....."

What about electro shock therapy of gay people Claig? Where do you stand on that?

Alyosha · 29/11/2016 11:10

Precis:

Jeff Sessions appt. shows that Trump is very serious about completely stopping immigration

Flynn shows that Trump wants Putin to be his mate (read: give him cash)

On finance Trump has appointed someone from the AEI to lead, they are super right-wing, anti-tax, pro-globalisation, if you read his policy proposals you would see that he has always been planning a massive tax cut & deregulation for the banks.

Basically the article says you should always take politicians literally, because most of the time what they say they want to do is what they actually want to do. Public promises are the only thing they can be held to.

Alyosha · 29/11/2016 11:13

Claig speak:

Establishment: anyone who dislikes Putin
Elite: anyone who dislikes Putin
Fake revolutions: revolutions that achieve aims counter to Putin's foreign policy goals
Fake news: News that goes against Putin's foreign policy aims

Chris1234567890 · 29/11/2016 11:19

I have no understanding at all of scottish laws and their impact, and therefore cant comment on anything Scottish at all.....Well apart from, they have the only political party in the world that calls themselves a Scottish National Party and not get called racist, white supremacists.

squishysquirmy · 29/11/2016 11:19

Chris, if you are truly interested in women's rights articles like this might dampen some of your admiration for Trump.

'Revolutions are, of course, usually pre-planned, financed and agitated to serve somebody's purpose'

That's right, fourmummy. They are usually planned by the elites for the elites' purposes of taking the people's freedoms and free speech away.

But the elites didn't plan this one. They didn't even see it coming. All their puppets insulted Trump on twitter thinking their bosses would beat Trump. The BBC and the worlwide media lied to try and stop him. But it all failed and there is more gnashing of teeth than when Gnasher spotted the postman in the Beano, and more weeping among the elites than Julie London sang about in "Cry Me A River". The elites are crying an ocean.

"Now you say you're sorry
Well just to prove that it's true
Why don't you cry me a river, cry me a river
I cried a river over you"

'What about electro shock therapy of gay people Claig? Where do you stand on that?'

I am against it. Trump will stop it.
