Into the final lap now after over 1 year of entertainment, education and excitement. Donald J Trump is nearly there against all expectations.

Possible, MitzyLeFrouf but now you are getting into conspiracy theory territory and the question then becomes cui bono?

OP posts:
Lweji · 06/11/2016 07:26

What, are you surprised that millions of people think Trump is entertaining

I didn't find it surprising.

I found your answer disgusting and it's in relation to your attitude that lynch mob mentality and incitement is entertainment.

If Clinton had been chanting lock him up in relation to the fraud, or calls for foreign hacking or attacks on women, you'd have been disgusted too. And you would have accused her of rigging the election, probably.
What makes you an hypocrite like Trump is.

BTW, to another pp, does anyone really know what Trump is worth right now? For all we know he could have declared losses of 1 billion dollars last year. Wink

Lweji · 06/11/2016 07:27

It's clear that Mitzy meant that only Trump benefits from the victim status.

Ahhh.. found the new thread.

Back on the other one, on a lighter link Breadandwine, I'm glad to see the "one word to describe Trump", that my word 'buffoon' was right up there amongst the most popular. (I've used it through all claig's threads. Not about claig. About Trump Grin )

claig I think you were very dismissive of pallisers. For gods sake she lives in the US and is living and breathing this. Imagine if some Brit was over on a US forum treating the whole thing like a reality show. It's RL for her and her family.

As far as a lynch mob, I don't think anyone can deny that after last night's shenanigans at Trump's rally.
Crites told reporters the incident started off when he raised a "Republicans Against Trump" sign.
Crites said he was then assaulted by a group of people around him before anyone shouted anything about a gun.
"All of a sudden, because they couldn't grab the sign, or whatever happened, bam, I get tackled by all these people who were just, like, kicking me and grabbing me in the crotch and just, just beating the crap out of me," Crites said, according to KTNV. "And somebody yells something about a gun, and so that's when things really got out of hand."
The alleged assault against Crites is just the latest such incident to occur at a Trump rally, where other protesters have previously been roughed up."

Lynch mob indeed.

As for your comments claig that HC couldn't fill a village hall. Do you actually look at HC rallies?
I am attaching a pic for you claig. This is Ohio and only days ago.

Also, you might not know this, but DT deliberately on occasions chooses smaller venues fitting only 1,000 or so. He's a circus clown who wants it filmed that fire marshals are turning away his supporters cos of course HC has all the marshals in her pocket, that's a good media buzz for him.

And of course large rallies do not necessarily translate into success as has been proved throughout history look at nazism

'If Clinton had been chanting lock him up in relation to the fraud, or calls for foreign hacking or attacks on women, you'd have been disgusted too. And you would have accused her of rigging the election, probably. '

No, I wouldn't have been disgusted at all. Just like with the moniker, it doesn't happen, because it doesn't work because not enough people feel strongly about it, unlike the people who shout "lock her up" who feel strongly that she is a crook.

I agree with Trump and a huge proportion of Trump fans that it may be rigged, so that won't be a surprise if it happens.

claig · 06/11/2016 08:44

'claig I think you were very dismissive of pallisers.'

I apologise if I came across harsh, I didn't intend it. She had called me "stupid" then told me it disturbed her that I found the election entertaining when I had "no skin in the game" which, after being called "stupid" I may have interpreted weongly as if I shouldn't express that the election is entertaining because I am not American. There are millions of Americans who think the election is entertaining (and millions of us around the world which is why people in China are tuning in and there are message boards set up for Chinese Trump fans for Trump, whom they affectionately call "Big Mouth" in Chinese), such as lots and lots of Trump fans and Kid Rock

"Kid Rock endorses Donald Trump for president saying billionaire businessman's 'campaign has been entertaining as s*'

The crowd is worried that Trump is going to be attacked because he is doing a very dangerous thing and the crowd knows it. It looks like someone in the crowd overreacted and shouted "gun" and then the secret servce takes no chances and whisks Trump off stage. General Mike Flynn was on Fox afterwards and says that he knows how the secret service work and that they would not have wanted Trump to go onstage again after such an incident, but Trump insisted he go back on stage and finish his speech. He did a great job, but his voice was slightly more subdued than he had been when having fun with the crowd just before the incident happened. So it looked like a real incident, not staged.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/11/2016 08:59

It isn't an entertainment show. It's people's lives. They have to live with the consequences. Any entrertainment people may have found will have been of the Jeremy Kyle style. Once again you showed no empathy to Pallisers. Fourth post in the thread.

And as for Trump being attacked!!!!! A man held up a sign. He was attacked. People panicked about a gun. The same people who support the right to bear arms.

claig · 06/11/2016 09:00

'As for your comments claig that HC couldn't fill a village hall. Do you actually look at HC rallies? '

Not if I can help it, I prefer a Trump rally, they are more of a laugh. But I have occasionally taken a magnifying glass to a picture of a Hillary rally to count the number in attendance and it is tiny in comparison to a Trump rally. She does sometimes get big crowds, but she often gets small cowds too.

Here is Trump's funny speech at the Arthur E Smith dinner if anyone likes entertainment where he talks about Hillary's small crowds

"It’s great to be here with a thousand wonderful people, or, as I call it, a small intimate dinner with some friends. Or as Hillary calls it, her largest crowd of the season."

Lweji - No, it's not ok for Jay-Z or anyone else to use racist and sexist language and no-one can claim special privileges to do so. Otherwise, the local chapter of businessmen may claim that because of their special requirements, sexist and racist language holds a special symbolism for them Wink

It's not ok for anyone to use sexist and racist language. We, as a society, have decided that we will construct laws against this. The reason why we still hear it is not because racist and sexist language is ok to use but because of the variable and reluctant application of the laws. So, let's establish right now that it's not ok for Jay-Z or Trump or anyone else to use this language. Now that we've established this, let's look at what else is not ok. It's also not ok for Secretaries of State and other public officials to sell $80 billion weaponry to Saudi Arabia knowing that they will use it to fund terrorism to kill Americans (and others) and accept personal speaking fees for personal enrichment and 'donations' for their foundations while doing so. Now, let's rank order these 'misdemeanors'. Most people would have it as follows:

  1. Selling £80 billion of weapons to Saudi Arabia ...
  2. Starting wars that kill millions
  1. Sexist language

We can change the rank order but this is not right (is it?):

  1. Sexist language
  1. Selling £80 billion of weapons to Saudi Arabia
  2. Starting wars that kill millions
OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/11/2016 09:17

Early voting turn out shows that Clinton looks to have won Nevada.

Roussette · 06/11/2016 09:21

claig regarding your comment, as I said DT sometimes deliberately chooses small venues so they look packed to the rafters. Also lynch mobs do tend to go around in packs.

As far as you saying DT insisting on going back on stage after - well, what a brave soldier he is. Someone held up a sign against him and his lynch mob attacked this guy who had to be "immobilised" for holding up a poster Hardly a security issue is it. And hardly brave of DT. He comes back on stage to rapturous applause. Right....

fourmummy · 06/11/2016 09:21

And we all have skin in the game. The outcome will affect us all which is why we have all put our lives on hold and are congregating here

DoinItFine · 06/11/2016 09:26

'Let's hope you never find yourself at the receiving end of such a lynch mob.'

I won't because i haven't committed any crimes

Have we reached peak ignorance yet?

claig · 06/11/2016 09:30

'He comes back on stage to rapturous applause'

Well, yes, that happens wherever he goes, That's hardly his fault.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/11/2016 09:41

How is holding a sign a crime?

Roussette · 06/11/2016 09:59

I think it is fair to say claig that exactly the same would happen in exactly the same circumstances with HC. You can't dispute that. So it's hardly far reaching is it?

There was a non security issue. He is hustled off. He comes back. People cheer.

claig · 06/11/2016 10:01

True, It is not far reaching. Everything ended well which is great.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/11/2016 10:10

Down with that sort of thing Bobby!!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/11/2016 10:11

Yeah, ended really well for the protestor who feared for his life and was left bruised.

lightingseeds · 06/11/2016 10:59

Claig, there is not the remotest chance of Clinton being jailed even if it turns out that she is guilty of what is being alleged around the emails. It's the kind of action that would lose an official his security clearances and hence his job. It's not at all in the territory of custodial sentences, or probably even a criminal prosecution.

claig · 06/11/2016 11:06

lightingseeds, from what I have heard from Rudy Giuliani and Judge Jeanine and others, that is not the case. Obama can pardon her but that would imply that she is guilty and therefore may not be what happens.

The FBI did not have a Grand Jury and subpoenas and therefore Judge Jeanine says it was nit a full investigation and the reason is because Obama's DOJ did not give the FBI the go-ahead for that. If Trump wins, the DOJ will be staffed by Trump's people and then things will be different. Whether Trump eases off so that the world does not see the entire dirty linen, we will have to wait and see, if Trump wins.

OP posts:
claig · 06/11/2016 11:10

Howver, as Katie Pavlich, a top conservative journalist on townhall.com, said on Fox last night, Hillary's lawyers will fight it all the way and it will last years.

I don't know if Trump would want it to go all the way. He used to be friends with Hillary and Bill and possibly still is underneath all the election rhetoric.

OP posts:
lightingseeds · 06/11/2016 11:12

I'm sorry, Claig, but those are useless sources in this context. With your endless research, can you point to anyone else that has been imprisoned (or even convicted on criminal charges) for a similar offence?
