Oh WM, that's horrible. I had pleurisy a couple of years ago, and it was agony
I'm just coming back to update really. I posted this back in August:
Could I ask you to say some prayers for my sister's MIL-to-be. She had a fall down the stairs last week, and was only discovered when my sister got her fiance to ring the police to break into the house as she wasn't answering the phone (we live in Devon, they live in Essex) and a neighbour could see her car was there and the dog was barking. Anyway, she'd been unconcious for 36 hours, and was diagnosed with skull fractures and bleeds in the brain amongst other things.
Unfortunately when they were doing the CAT scan, they also discovered two brain tumours. She recovered from breast cancer a few years ago, and has had a difficult time losing her husband early.
Anyway, we're really hoping that they will be able to operate on the tumours, and that she will recover fully from the brain swelling/bleeds (she is still hazy on date/location/who people are). She should be having another CAT scan today to assess how things have progressed since last week.
Anyway, things went downhill. They discovered she had non-hodgkins lymphoma. They tried chemo, but it didn't work. It spread throughout her brain, and she died last Saturday. The only positive is that my sister got married a fortnight ago, and her MIL was quite 'with it' on the day, so they hope she got some comfort from that. No date for the funeral yet.
Thanks for any thoughts back in August and today.
