What's the best pet name you've come across?

I'm partial to pets with very beige, mid-century human names like Colin, Dave, Alan, Brenda, Sandra, Deidre.

A lady I worked with once rescued a really vicious parrot and renamed him Thomas-a-Peckitt.

I've just got back from a dog walk where we met a giant, perfectly rounded, sandy coloured staffy called King Edward to reflect the fact he's basically a potato.

I can't stop smiling. I had to share it with someone.

My friend has a snake called Slid Viscious.

I met Dave, Mike and Steve the other week. I wasn't sure if they were dogs or Geography teachers in tweed jackets with elbow patches. They were dogs.

Years ago I kept my horses at a stables where there were not one, but two horses called Simon.
As a vet nurse I’ve come across all sorts of pet names, but the best ‘human’ names have been Brenda ( pug ), Margaret ( pug ) and Roger ( frenchie ).

We rescued a dog called Pudding and changed her name to Toffee.

I had a dog called "Yeti Bryn Calfaria Jones". We now have two dogs - "The Reverend Buford Van Stom B.D." and "Tipyn Bach". Tipyn bach means "a little bit" in Welsh and he is the smallest dog we have ever owned so the idea that he is just a little scrap of a thing is perfect.

We have an african clawed frog called Philious Frog. My friend used to have a stick insect called slim shady when she was younger. My uni housemates cat was called Dave.

There was a poster on here I remember who had a tortoise called Lord Voldemort.

I don’t remember if there was a reason for this.

At the other end of the scale I used to have a goldfish called Trevor.

Our dog was called Rubbish (rescued from a dustbin...) and cat called Starbad...(anagram). It was the 70's...

I know cats called Mash, Bruno, Rhubarb, Cheese, Crunchie and Bangers.

My favourite was a cocker spaniel called Mr Kips. When I got my first cocker spaniel years ago he was called Mr Bobo. We’ve also had various hamsters including Honey-Jemima and Rodders.
