What's the best pet name you've come across?

I'm partial to pets with very beige, mid-century human names like Colin, Dave, Alan, Brenda, Sandra, Deidre.

A lady I worked with once rescued a really vicious parrot and renamed him Thomas-a-Peckitt.

I've just got back from a dog walk where we met a giant, perfectly rounded, sandy coloured staffy called King Edward to reflect the fact he's basically a potato.

I can't stop smiling. I had to share it with someone.

My daughter has just named her kitten Big Mike. I love it! He is rather small but I think he’ll grow into it!

A cat called Pudding.

I know a dog called Pudding! He's a Yorkie, so yorkshire pudding

Placid, fluffy white cat called- Fang
Celebrity on TV (can't recall who) has a cat called- Chairman Meow

Chihuahua named Benny. Doesn’t sound special but he looked like a potato and in the park if we saw him we’d sing, ‘B-B-B-Benny the Potate,’ to the tune of Bennie and the Jets.

Tripod was a three legged cat.

That's actually reminded me of the ancient chihuahua who was around when I first adopted my dog.

He was called Mighty Zeus. Not just Zeus. Mighty Zeus.

When I knew him, he was nineteen years old, had about three teeth in his head, and has always pushed around in a dog stroller.

Apparently in his younger days, his name was befitting. But I only knew him briefly as an old man.

A spaniel named Jason. Perfection.

I’ve known a neighbours three legged dog called Tripod. Two goldfish called Sushi and Jaws. We had three corys (fish) called collectively The Politicians because they were scum sucking bottom dwellers.

My favourite is still a friend’s cat known as Beelzecat though.

We had stick insects called Hitler and Goering. Because one was big and the other tiny, I’d just done nazi Germany at school, and we really hated them.

A dog near me is named Anna which I find quite random. I also know a cat named Kath

A rabbit called Arthur. R for Rabbit.

A cocker spaniel called Jarvis. I imagine there are a few.

An extremely posh golden retriever called Sir Humphrey.

The Bloggess has fun pet names. Her dog is Dorothy Barker, her old cats were Ferris Mewller and Hunter S. Tomcat, her new kitten is Purrsy Bysshe Shelley

I had a crow called Edgar Allan.

A dog called... Dog.

The toddler named him. He wouldnt respond to anything else.

A friend of mine has a guinea pig called Elvis.

Friends had a cat called Baby Jesus. Great name.
