Sick of these XL bully owners

FreshCop · 10/10/2022 21:38

I’m just so tired not of these dogs, but the people that are attracted to them and how they behave.

My local area of Liverpool has loads of these dogs and most recently a lady got mauled to death by 5 of them that were kept in a house together. Literally round the corner.

Why aren't measures taken to prevent the unsavoury breeding and sale of these dogs, which clearly have no regard for the welfare of the animals or the safety of people? It is obvious that the average person is completely unable to guarantee that their dog won't harm members of the public.

Examples:

Neighbour who keeps two XL bullies in their apartment and has a one-year-old child. However, it's okay because they are only permitted in the kitchen. Dogs undoubtedly enjoy it, I’m sure. Don’t know what the father is thinking leaving his girlfriend and baby at home alone with two of those dogs, they’re absolutely huge.

A tiny woman who lives across the street has now made the decision to purchase one. He "stays by her side" as she very proudly walks him without a lead. The dog has jumped on me; he's still only a puppy but is already very strong. She appears to enjoy the attention the dog attracts and is proud of herself for walking the dog outside without a leash. My child was knocked over by the dog after it jumped on her. Once more, the woman believes it's all in good fun. There is no way the dog, who is only a few months old, will be able to be handled by her.

Another family on our street has two dogs, but neither of them can walk or breathe normally without stumbling. Both of the "hard" guys—father and son, I think—are exerting real effort and are literally being dragged by these dogs.

It is ridiculous. Moreover, I dread them.

They appear to believe that by frightening off onlookers, these dogs will offer them protection. The number of fatalities these dogs have produced and the fact that the same moron keeps purchasing them. I don't understand the hype because they aren't inexpensive either.

The owners love to have them off lead and then claim that "they are harmless," so i'm not being ridiculous.

Please tell me it’s not just be sick to death of this?

Theres a guy in our town who has two hugely fucking terrifying dogs. Pretty sure they are these XL bullies. To his credit he’s actually one of the most responsible dog owners I have seen. Dogs always muzzled, always on short leads and he goes alternate routes to avoid children or babies.

Grateful about that. He looks nearly as terrifying as his dogs but his actions show he’s a good guy. Kudos to him.

SophieIsHereToday · 27/09/2023 13:18

Really?

That's terrifying that he can't walk near babies or children. I like to walk with my babies, it's good for our health, does this mean the back roads are reserved for dangerous dogs?

A short lead is ok when the owner is stronger than the dog but if the dogs stronger then the rope is merely a barrier in the dogs brain and not their muscles.

Perhaps we need public spaces only for these types of dogs. Or perhaps it's better for people to pick a dog which is fit for living in a town. In the same way it wouldn't be appropriate to ride a horse or walk a lion in a town, not all dogs are fit for those environments

He does sound very responsible- and RARE!!

Fair play to him.

I do respect responsible dog owners.

Muzzle, short lead, and OWNER STRONG enough to hold them counts for a lot.

Too often, the weedy owner lets go and then it's terrifying for the small child or sweet pet or innocent adult in the big Pitbull's sights.

These aren't suitable dogs to have around other people, nice well behaved dogs, or society in general though.

They are hardwired to kill- that's what they have been created for.

CCTVcity · 27/09/2023 16:14

@SophieIsHereToday As in whenever i have seen him with my son he will cross the road, or once I was feeding on a bench and he went off path to avoid walking past us.

@oakleaffy Yes it’s still terrifying but I do have a respect for all the things he’s put in place to make it a bit safer.

More people are biting by chihuahua than any other dog

Believe it or not, the often feared American Pit Bull Terrier has been rated as less aggressive than the tiny Chihuahua in a study by Dognition. Chihuahuas were the most aggressive dog, leading to plenty of personal injury claims, while Pit Bulls ranked toward the bottom of the 35-breed list.

You appear to be spectacularly missing the point @Bigdogowner

How many people die due to Chihuahua attacks?

How many deaths due to XL Bullies or Pitbulls?

LynneBenfield · 19/12/2023 20:04

Classic dontbullymybreed type post.

Bigdogowner · 19/12/2023 21:34

I don’t have a bully xl I just don’t think it’s the dogs fault.
just like people they not born killers

Mantreatlikeshit · 25/12/2023 09:25

My partner decided to take on her sister XL Bullie or what ever the hell it is.

She lied to me and said it was temporary but told the kids we were adopting it.

The creature is awful, it's taken over the fucking house, it chases the cats violently (I'm a cat person) and invades the children's space.

I hate the thing, I hope the ban comes into place so the ugly thing gets executed.

If the kids get annoyed with it when it hurts them she sticks up for the dog. For some reason the dogs come first, it's totally bizarre as I think the kids should have the right to not have their space and toys not ruined by dogs especially by this horrible ugly nast dangerous dog.

I have said if it's not gone by the new year I will leave, but that still didn't prompt the riddance of the dog.

ThisOldThang · 25/12/2023 11:06

She's placing the dog above your children's safety. Will you ever forgive yourself if the worst happens?

I'd make it explicitly clear that it's the dog or you and the kids. She's got 7 days to offload the dog. After that, it will be illegal to re-home the dog and the only option will be euthanasia.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with somebody that placed a dog above our children in the family pecking order.

@FreshCop XL Bullies are basically large pit bulls.
They regularly kill cats and smaller dogs.
They have a very short fuse and can 'turn' at the slightest provocation without warning.
Mia Derouen {aged 4} was mauled to death by one that was supposedly ''Her dog'' - the stepdad whose dog it was said the dog was 'so sweet with the girl'
It turned one night while the little girl was simply watching TV.

Most of the XL Pits {XL bully is a new name for a large Pitbull cross} are genetically related to this dog ''Killer Kimbo''

the son of killer kimbo 'Nico' killed the little girl.

The mother saw the dog 'change' and tried to drag her daughter into the bedroom...the Pit broke down the bedroom door to get the little girl.

''like a Demon possessed him..he busted the door....he wanted her'' {Quote}

This video is by a ''pro XL kennel...and they are saying how human aggression is in a lot of them.

Edited

Nor me.
It sounds dangerous already if it's hurting the children.
Human aggression is in many of the UK ones as they are grossly inbred with ones related to 'Killer Kimbo'' initially imported here from USA.

Where do i even start with this?

"More people are biting by chihuahua than any other dog"

That's clearly not true. Chihuahuas aren't commonly owned dogs. Their bikes aren't even worth reporting because they do such little damage.

"American Pit Bull Terrier has been rated as less aggressive than the tiny Chihuahua in a study by Dognition"

Pitbulls are fighting dogs. They don't show signs of aggression, they just attack. When they attack, they keep attacking until the prey or the Pitbull are dead. If you stop and think about dog fighting, you'll understand why that is a necessary trait. When they enter attack mode, they don't respond to human commands - again that is essential when people are betting on the outcome of a dog fight.

Pitbulls have passed temperament tests almost immediately after killing humans.

They're ticking time bombs.

I have an American bully 14weeks old in training, I'm sick to death hearing the bad reviews about them, any dog can turn ! I know a friend of mines mum had a greyhound and attack my friends son, bite into his cheek, stop saying bad things about American bullies, it's how you bring them up ! I want people to walk pass and say what a lovely dog even though she's got to have a muzzle on, my American bully is from a living family (us) and I live with my partner and 14 year old son, I also have a cocker spaniel, even walking him I pass owners with dogs who have no muzzle and aggressive, I personally think every dog should be muzzled and insured, stop blaming the fucking dogs, blame the owners !!!!

Petehaines7 · 13/02/2024 02:24

Dangerous dogs ? Any dog can turn ! I have an American bully 14 weeks old, with my partner and son who is 14, she loves everyone, it's how you bring them up, any dog can turn, did you not ever hear as a child, told leave your child alone with your dog ? They are not dangerous dogs and guess what, rotties have the most powerful bite then a bully! Get ya facts right, yeah the drug dealers have bought this ban In for protection of the dog, but this breed is loyal and affectionate etc, yes they protect there family if someone knocks the door but so does my cooker spaniel too, fed up with it, it's the owners that are dangerous not the fucking dogs ;

It's hardwired into the DNA. They are aggressive as bred from fighting dogs.

No another type of dog that has killed or maimed as many people and other dogs that these grossly inbred XL Bullies.

Bigdogoner · 13/02/2024 19:06

It’s just taking the piss I have an American Bulldog who is a PTSD assistant dog and a Dogue De Bordeaux which is going through training to be an autism assistant dog both are big powerful dogs. Wait till the XXL bullies come over from the US. If you really read the article it say TYPE or SUSPECT to be XL bullies

Petehaines7 · 14/02/2024 00:59

There's also been over breeds what have killed in the pass, it's all been a hype for the XL bullies, they are affectionate dogs, and it's the drug dealers who have used them for fighting, stop saying there a bad breed !!;it's all how you train a dog ! Any dog can turn !!! Remember that !

Don't be an idiot. Of course any dog can turn, but a chihuahua is unlikely to rip your face off or kill you, an xl bully will. I hope for yours and your child's sake yours doesn't turn one day.

oakleaffy · 14/02/2024 01:22

We know what we have seen and experienced with these ''mouldy loaf'' looking XL Pits with their mean little eyes and mauler child attacking and maiming /adult killing traits. {Not to mention other innocent dogs}

I have been around dogs a lot and absolutely distrust these inbred unstable brutes.

It IS the dog type {a mongrelised large Pitbull}.

Petehaines7 · 14/02/2024 01:29

And I hope if you own a dog it doesn't turn either ! Rotties and kane Corsa have the worst bite then an American bully, I haven't got an American bully to be 'hard' I just think there beautiful dogs, and deserve a chance in life.

Petehaines7 · 14/02/2024 01:49

Mean eyes ? My American bully has the most beautiful blue eyes ever, no mean look in them eyes at all, I always have a cocker spaniel, they love eachother lots, and cats, she plays with the cats tooz no evil about her what's so ever! Such a shame you feel this way about these breeds, beautiful loyal dogs you could ever have

FreeZor · 14/02/2024 10:57

Ah. I see that the geniuses have turned up to regale us with their barely intelligible posts about how these monstrosities are just soooooo cuddly, gentle and friendly. It's perfectly logical that when breeding fighting dogs breeders would have selected for such character traits.

One can only hope that when their little cutey pie decides to maul someone it's the owner whose face it eats for a snack. How sad that such people's only achievement in life will be a Darwin Award and they won't even be able to collect it in person. 🎻
