Catpiece · 15/08/2025 11:23

Is it okay for me to start a second thread of the highly entertaining viscous attack? Couldn’t see a sequel and don’t want to step foot on anyone’s toes
edited to add: I’m Cattery but with a name change x

"I’m currently trolling the internet for old stock."
I think she meant trawling.

Redtop article on a chip shop favourite?

NamingNoNames · 14/02/2026 15:32

On Nextdoor today:

"HI Neighbours, i m [Name], i m on dependent visa status looking to find a part time job for me, during my daughter school hours from 8am to 2:30 pm. i was a teacher back in india did my master degree with distinction in my subjects which was Master of Education. if you can help me find a job will be grateful FIY i don't have QTS Yet "

(I fully accept that English might not be her/his first language but the English is not good.)

This article proofs it’s the UK government once again failing.
It’s a debaucle.

Or barmy.

Allseeingallknowing · 17/02/2026 15:10

Yet another from a Mumsnet thread, about hotel bottom sheets not being completely “taught”
Yep - some of those sheets sure are thick!

Thick as a pile of blankets as we say here.

Edited

I think you're being really harsh there for someone who is obviously not writing in her native tongue. You say you "fully accept" that she's not, but you're making no allowances despite your acceptance (whatever that means).

NamingNoNames · 18/02/2026 22:56

@Emptyandsad , she's claiming to be a teacher and the English is poor. English is an official language of India. She's hoping to get Qualified Teacher Status to teach in the UK.

I'm not being harsh.

TerminalMoraine · 18/02/2026 23:49

It makes sence to run for a seat in Parliment.

NamingNoNames · 19/02/2026 09:09

In the UK, you stand not run for a seat in Parliament.

Poster saving for "DC and I's" future.

HessianRug · 19/02/2026 14:28

Saw someone saying that an intelligent kid was "streaks ahead" of their peers.
I had to Google to confirm I hadn't been saying it wrong for the last 40 years!

FawnDrench · 22/02/2026 17:39

It’s RITE of passage, not “right of passage” - have seen the latter today on a thread.
That is all.

Funnywonder · 22/02/2026 20:14

Oh dear, apparently someone is hiding ‘in plain site’. Not one of those fancy sites😆

Borgonzola · 22/02/2026 22:13

I saw a fantastic error in an Instagram comment yesterday. On a post about the Wales coastal path, someone had commented that they’d done it and it was fairly easy - ‘you don’t need to have gravitational skills’ Grin Presumably they’d floated the whole way Grin

Allseeingallknowing · 23/02/2026 18:50

Seen on online newspaper.
A nice jester( gesture)

TerminalMoraine · 23/02/2026 23:27

He was a troubles sole and turned to violence.
He was being very difficult about the cituation.
The late Queen had an inclin when she bailed him out.

Allseeingallknowing · 24/02/2026 21:07

Seen on Mumsnet tonight on a thread about choosing a dress” it has a rushing to the side” Can’t wait to wear it, perhaps!

Catpiece · 25/02/2026 12:59

Currently attending jury service. Another attendee referred to the barrister as the “barrier”. My mind boggled

Maybe he'd eaten some raw chicken gudgeons (seen on a thread today)

Chersfrozenface · 01/03/2026 16:34

A thread title I've just seen begins "Anyone done peace work at home..."

I genuinely thought it was going to be a thread about campaigning on the conflict that's just kicked off in the Middle East until i read the rest - "..with United entertainment work?"

Oh, piece work!

NamingNoNames · 01/03/2026 16:37

Don't most of us do peace work at home? Smile
