Is it okay for me to start a second thread of the highly entertaining viscous attack? Couldn’t see a sequel and don’t want to step foot on anyone’s toes
edited to add: I’m Cattery but with a name change x

It's defiantly good to have a second thread 😁

Catpiece · 15/08/2025 16:14

It is indeed @HopeSpringsInfernal Let’s hope for some corkers. I’ll start. Some people I once knew named their cat Blue. I asked for what particular reason? After the bear in The Jungle Book. I shit you not x

Brilliant! We really need the laugh emoji back for stuff like this 😂

Oh dear BBC Cumbria saying someone wasn’t phased when a hand grenade was dug up by a metal detectorist.
Do they not do a spell or grammar check. Problem did a grammer check instead.

The grenade on top of the stone wall. It is an oval shape and covered in soil with grid-like indents.

Kendal metal detectorists find live hand grenade in Flookburgh

The device is blown up in a controlled explosion after being found by a metal detecting club.

Twice on a thread today with the OP saying that she intimidated that she felt the service would be of benefit to her.

The trouble with spell checkers is, they won't flag it up if you've used the wrong word but spelled it correctly.

The BBC News site had a story the other week where something was "regraded as" instead of "regarded as". Same problem with spell checkers.

Hi everyone. Let’s keep our eyes and ears open for more abominations x

There’s a very recent thread - damned if I can find it at the moment - in which the OP refers to a “Jacqueline High” character. Some headscratching later it was interpreted as “Jekyll and Hyde”.

Ha ha ha - I saw that one too.

@ACatAsleepInYourHat 😱 That’s shocking!

Spotted today on another thread that was boardering acceptable.
On a different thread, he was board.

PendantScorner · 22/08/2025 12:13

Today's typo from another thread: headonistic

countdowntonap · 22/08/2025 13:21

Seen today Confused

It does make you wonder what’s happened to literacy. Too much online misspellings. Too much mishearing and assumptions. I find it both fascinating and depressing.

I e just read on here a post “When I was learning DS to drive….”

PipMartin · 23/08/2025 08:09

There’s a lot of these on local Facebook pages, surprising how many people have obviously never seen something written down but write what they’ve heard, having a stab at it phonetically eg a man looking for some “gladden” for his shed

TheaBrandt1 · 23/08/2025 19:34

Just seen a hotel described as “away from the maddening crowds” which was quite sweet and actually makes more sense than the correct quote!

Gonksmum · 23/08/2025 20:02

Saw "drug attics" online somewhere the other day. Could have 2 meanings, I suppose!

Pieceofpurplesky · 23/08/2025 20:27

Seen today 'maze well' rather than 'may as well'

JadedCat · 23/08/2025 21:49

Saw a post on Facebook where apparently no-one battered an eye-lid 🤷🏼‍♀️

Catpiece · 24/08/2025 10:12

Truly shocking. It’s laziness, lack of reading (apart from regurgitating what’s written on social media, which is “liked” but not corrected) and just attempting to write that which is misheard.

Have you got a tight nit group of friends though op?

Catpiece · 25/08/2025 11:22

Not really. Not even a click
