See also "I am defiantly not pregnant".

Even reading this thread is disturbing me.

America12 · 04/01/2023 16:44

Your instead of you're 😬 it's in every thread.
Should of , would of , could of.
Defiantly.

I actually like bare with me, it makes me think of some sort of communal nudity, makes me snigger

Me too!

TheShellBeach · 04/01/2023 16:37

Can someone explain "Wallah" to me.
I do not understand.

I'd like that, too!

Oh, is it 'Vois La!'? It's been a long time since I did French, so I have probably misspelled it. 'Et, vois là! C'est magnifique!'

paintitallover · 04/01/2023 16:55

It's "voilà"

DomesticShortHair · 04/01/2023 16:57

What if they are defiantly not pregnant though? Perhaps they are under pressure from their own parents, who are desperate for grandchildren?

Lilibert456 · 04/01/2023 16:58

Definitely could of/should of.

Voila

swanling · 04/01/2023 17:00

Using "lead" when it should be "led".

DuncanBiscuits · 04/01/2023 17:05

‘Hey wallah!’ has made me smile.

cptartapp · 03/01/2023 14:30

RIP. Fly high with the angles.

😁

Please, how do you get the accent? I am on a laptop keyboard, so maybe I can't.

TheShellBeach · 04/01/2023 17:46

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh...............Voila!

I would never, never have thought of that myself, not have I seen it on a thread.

Well, that's possible - except I generally see it on those weird threads full of POAS addicts, when they announce gloomily that they're "defiantly" not pregnant.

OP posts:
GimmeBiscuits · 04/01/2023 17:50

All of these.
Also, "in the car, and had to break hard because of ..."

TheLeadbetterLife · 04/01/2023 17:51

Some interesting ones I've seen recently:

Rest bite
Mind field
Mine-blowing

These mistakes are eggcorns, perhaps? You can see the thought process behind them.

IglesiasPiggl · 04/01/2023 17:53

America12 · 04/01/2023 16:59

Voila

I do find the anglicisation of foreign words interesting. Someone on my local FB page was offering a "sheec shayslon" which upon inspection of the photo turned out to be a rather chic chaise - longue.

TheLeadbetterLife · 04/01/2023 17:53

What's really annoying me at the moment is "lay" instead of "lie", though.

Bloody everyone is laying down, or having a lay in. How has that happened?

Well if, despite their defiance, they do indeed fall pregnant, they may have to ditch their high heals. Just like a number of people on a certain Facebook group I frequent are.

Argh - that is my absolute bugbear, the worst of the worst.

Whenever there's an American true crime show, and someone says "the body was laying on the bed" I scream at the telly "LYING ON THE BED!!"

DH sniggers now whenever he hears it.

I get irrationally angry over 'kerb' and 'curb'. And the eternal 'they are', 'their', 'there....probably more variations of this.

In America they use "curb" where we use "kerb".

Not that that is any consolation to a pedant like moi.

@IglesiasPiggl needed your explanation for that 😂

America12 · 04/01/2023 18:05

'I am sat waiting ' no , you're sitting. You sat previously.
