I wpersonally wouldn't rely on the disposable cameras...have you thought of a polaroid guestbook?

We are havng one so as well as the guests signing a book we will have a photograph of them above their signatures etc
That way we are guaranteed to have a pic of everyone there nd a nice way of remebering what they were wearing/what they looked like!!

stillovefoxes · 02/07/2008 11:04

TSM - You are my resident expert!

Dropdead - polarid guest book sounds like a fab idea, but they are inly 4 adult guests at my wedding so it would be more like a memo than a book!

Going to start emailing photographers today

peasoup · 02/07/2008 12:38

At my wedding I had a fantasy about setting up a video diary room where guests could pile into and give little video messages . Thought it would be hilarious to look back at it. Especially if folks have had a few drinks and piled in there. Was too complicated to figure out how to set it up and too many other things to sort out so we never did it.
Thanks tillyscoutsmum glad you liked the site. Am thrilled to be resident expert!
Stilllovefoxes Am happy to work as Tilly Scout's deputy!
We did have a friend take a super film of the ceremony itself. Super 's great; it's only three minutes long so can never be long and boring; it's lovely and griny so really retro and everyone looks good a little bit grainy! Especially at my age! Also it has no sound so nice and atmospheric; you can't hear anyone muttering "Is it switched on yet?" for example. We love watching ours.

peasoup · 02/07/2008 12:40

That's Super 8 film I mean. And Grainy, not griny.

SmallShips · 02/07/2008 17:30

Well its DPs stag night! Hoping for no elf pooing incidents!

babyinacorner · 02/07/2008 19:30

SShips - hope your DP has a great night - what are you up to in his absence?

SmallShips · 02/07/2008 19:42

im having a glass of wine and just hanging around here, just put the children to bed and am now relaxing!

LoveMyGirls · 02/07/2008 21:04

Hi SS, is your dh2b staying out all night? Do you know where they've gone? Are you worried about the load of washing you'llhe'll have to do tomorrow?

TillyScoutsmum · 02/07/2008 21:12

Hi SS - Hope your H2B is behaving him elf

DP is off on Friday for 5 days on a lad's holiday - dread to think the sort of state he'll come back in

SmallShips · 03/07/2008 10:08

Morning all.

He stayed out all night, but didnt make it past 10pm, they all want back to the Naval base and crashed out lol. Bless.

Got a picture message of him in the same elf suit, tied to a lampost in Portsmouth Harbour.

Thankfully he has managed to keep full control of his bodily functions, or if he hasnt no one is telling me.

TillyScoutsmum · 03/07/2008 10:18

Ah - be thankful for small mercies eh ? Just hope he manages to retain control on the wedding day

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 03/07/2008 11:13

EEEEugh, how did the elf suit get laundered after the last 'airing' lol...?

SmallShips · 03/07/2008 11:31

Good news is, after they stuck him to the lampost they stripped him naked and threw the elf costume in the sea (gone forever) and left him until a friendly local fisherman took pity on him and gave him his wax jacket. They then borrowed a ladies ball gown and hat, dressed him up in that. He got to weatherspoons and passed out, had to be carried to the dockyard!

He is so very embarrassing!!

Dropdeadfred · 03/07/2008 11:33
Grin
teafortwo · 03/07/2008 12:02

oh smallships - you are very cool about all that drunken behaviour!!! Luckily my dp is quite private and hasn't got round to telling many of his friends about our wedding... (he didn't tell any of his work friends about me being pregnant even - only when he didn't turn up for a meeting because he was holding my hand during labour did he explain!!) no stag do planned - sounds like lucky lucky me!!!

teafortwo · 03/07/2008 17:54

I am just back from the beauticians with silky smooth skin, fluttery eye-lashes and the prettiest feet I have ever owned!!!!

BUT my babysitter was late coming to my place and that made me late and so the beautician said she didn't have time to do my hands (sob, sob(sad]) after she had spent an hour on my feet! Oh well. Thats life ! Was hoping on getting out of the washing up tonight - no luck there though!!!

differentID · 03/07/2008 18:49

are you a fairly relaxed bride tft?

teafortwo · 03/07/2008 18:56

ha ha ha - well it is a relaxed wedding really! No stress!

So, how are you differentID?

Are you planning on having a honeymoon?

differentID · 03/07/2008 19:45

no- can't afford one. We've had this week more or less to ourselves, so that will have to do.

teafortwo · 03/07/2008 19:49

plus why go on a honeymoon if your whole life is one- hey!!!

differentID · 03/07/2008 19:52

exactly. He's currently cleaning his golf shoes with a bamboo skewer.
Wedded bliss eh?

teafortwo · 03/07/2008 20:21

I am trying to find a black cab for Saturdy and dp and dd are topping and tailing french beans and kissing to celebrate each one finishing - why are we bothering to say "I do" we are an old married couple already!!! He he he!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 03/07/2008 20:59

T42 - just wanted to wish you a fantastic wedding. Enjoy every moment and don't forget we'll need full report and pics when you get back

teafortwo · 03/07/2008 21:34

Just realised I have no cardigan to wear for if it is cold on Saturday... and my dress is a really summery one... am busy trawling my wardrobe for a cardigan that goes!!!!! Eeeek!!!
