i believe i can, they are investigating it! what pisses me off most though is my future mil paid for it - i have her card and address on my paypal acc, and i accidently used her card instead of mine!! so now i get her ringing me daily asking whats happening!!!

the ring website looks amazing! their are some lovely rings.

saralou · 10/09/2008 18:44

oooh, my jewellry i oredered today has been posted already, should be here in the next 2 days!!

i'm happy relaxed non-bridezilla again (who'd have thought a necklace could of turned me!!!)

fingers crossed!!!

LoveMyGirls · 10/09/2008 19:39

Hi,

Glad your jewellery will be here soon, it's beautiful! I think we all have bridezilla in there somewhere, I had a bridezilla moment today (bridesmaids keep letting me down and I end up going to dress shops on my own feeling like no-one cares, silly i know!) and I've got a year to go, god knows what I'll be like with 3 weeks to go!

Thanks for the link masala but I don't think its quite what i'm looking for.
I tried the make up that's supposed to cover them and it didn't work (cracked and it was like my tattoo was wet and seeping through in places) so I have to have a dress that covers it, I think I have almost found the one but I'm just going round the last couple of places now making sure I can't find one I like more or that is cheaper, I haven't got round to breaking the news to my dad how much it will cost.

I do have some particularly fabulous most amazing news though that I wanted to share and that is we've chosen our honeymoon place now and it's lovely and the best bit is that pil have offered to pay for it so that is a massive weight lifted and we can really look forward to it, I'm so excited!

saralou · 10/09/2008 19:55

LMG, where are you going? i've always wanted to go to bermuda for our honeymoon

instead i get a night in sandbanks!!! lol

LoveMyGirls · 10/09/2008 20:09

We're going to corfu for 2 weeks while pil take dd's to halkidiki we all fly the monday after the wedding. We're coming home on our wedding night though which I hadn't imagined doing when I was a little girl i always imagined walking up a sweeping staircase to a hotel room on my wedding night but now im older and wiser and money is tight I thought it's a waste when our house is literally 2 mins from the reception venue and the dc's are going home with pil.

Hi girls!

Well...the drama with the registry office continues

dp rang today to see whether we could have music and to not have our interview together, but they said no. Even worse we're not allowed to personalise the ceremony with a reading either. It just keeps getting worse. I've been crying my eyes out all day, partly probably because i;ve been really ill since sat and feel shite. dp has been great though, he went down there and has spoken too them.

Apparently:
We can't have music because of copyright laws. You can at an approved premises, like hotels, because they have the correct liscense for playing public music. We can only have the arrival of the queen of sheba

We can't do the interview separately, simply because we can't! Don't know why. BUT they said dp can come in and sit down at the front of the interview room, and I can come in the door after so i am behind him

We can't have a reading because there's not enough time. They book them in every half hour conveyer belt like.

I am quite annoyed as well as sad, because they said at the one we gave notice to that we could have these things. Now we can't, I feel like i'm missing out, rather than knowing it wasn't posiible from the start, IYSWIM?

I suppose i'll get used to it, but at the moment i'm not happy. Keep feeling like that's all i'm going to be thinking about on the day.

Sorry for doom and gloom! Hope you all are ok.

stretchmarkqueen · 10/09/2008 22:28

oops!

LoveMyGirls · 11/09/2008 14:01

Hi smq, what a total nightmare for you I really don't know what to suggest but wanted to give you some support and a hug (((((((smq)))))))))

I'm guessing it is definitely too late to get married somewhere else? I know you can get married in a church for as little as £200 which is more than a registry office but at least you would have the things you want most on your special day.

saralou · 11/09/2008 17:24

corfu sounds nice LMG!

i'm going here next week with my fab mate! so excited!!

haha, i heard from the necklace lady today! she's been to a funeral and asked her sister to do it, which she did.. but it's got lost maybe? she's put another one in the post today (in a special box rather then a standard!!!!!)

the other one i ordered turned up today, so it looks like i may have 2!

serves me right for being bridezilla!!!

saralou · 11/09/2008 17:28

and..

im sorry SMQ, thats so sad! could you get married somewhere else? our reg is nothing like that, we can have approved music and readings as long as they approve them, and we can be interviewed seperately on the day!

it just seems so unreasonable!!

i would be stamping my feet like the very best toddler!!

MerlinsBeard · 12/09/2008 13:08

SMQ - i am so sorry you are having this stress

could you go in first and hide behind one of those partitions that are supposed to be used to get dressed behind?

Could you get a friend to write an original piece of music to walk down the aisle to? what was your preferred piece?i can't remember? DP is a musician and would be able to base an original piece around a track you LOVE so do you know anyone who could do that for yoU?

saralou: - LOL @ your necklaces, are you going to return one? or keep it as a spare?

teafortwo · 15/09/2008 10:24

aaaawww - Mumofmonster - you are lovely - SMQ hey (shouts across the room) SMQ - come and listen to these fab ideas!!!

MerlinsBeard · 15/09/2008 10:41

oh no! I killed the thread!!

I have been having underskirt and dress traumas but all sorted now!

I ordered an underskirt from ebay to "flump" my dress more but it looked really crap under my dress, took it all to mums and we figured it all out and now it looks stunning(if i say so myself) i need either a FABULAOUS push up bra or some HUGE chicken fillets as i have lost too much weight and the top is too loose!!!

is TSM back from hols yet?

MerlinsBeard · 15/09/2008 10:53

oooh iand i have exciting news!!

We have been struggling to find nice rings in our budget(ie as little as poss!) and we went to a crappy wedding fair and saw this lady who will bring rings to your house and you can pretty much design your own, she is doing us a FAB deal and coming tomo with some rings for us to choose from. SHe is kind of in between argos prices and jewellery (sp?) shop prices

stretchmarkqueen · 15/09/2008 10:54

Hi! I'm starting to perk up a bit now! Thanks for all your suggestions.

We are going to be able to have dp behind a partition, so thats ok, thankyou for whoever suggested that! It means I won't have to risk him seeing me, as they said I could stand behind him, but there's a big mirror at the front!!

And i've been training myself to like the 'arrival of the queen of sheeba'!! They said the reading may or may not be allowed, we will have to se on the day! Not too much stress then!! If my bridesmaid can't read it at the ceremony, then she'll read it at the reception!

TBH, I was quite upset with my mum, who said to just try to get the ceremony over with, then concentrate on the rest of the day!! Ermmmm..... Isn't the ceremony the most important part!

Ho hum! Trying not to be too bothered about it. Difficult because I'm usually in floods of tears at random points of the day anyway!

Next on the agenda is trying to express 32 ozs of breastmilk for the wedding day!!! 2 ozs at a time!!

MerlinsBeard · 15/09/2008 10:59

SMQ how old is your LO again?

DS3 will be 8 months and isn't too keen on formula and i can't express! I have visions of me BF down the aisle!!!(now that would be one for MN lol)

Glad everything else is sounding more positive, i asked about tha meeting when we emet with the registrars on Fri,. we too have to have it but it can be seperatly -phew!

stretchmarkqueen · 15/09/2008 11:00

x-posts MOM! Sounds great on your rings!! We were lucky, the only reason we were able to afford nice rings was because my dad gave me some money towards the wedding, and we decided to get some nice rings with it. Although the money was part of what my nan left when she died Will be nearly a year that she died when we get married.

Sorry, I'm really depressing at the mo. Will come back when I am not so miserable!

MerlinsBeard · 15/09/2008 11:27

SMQ, i just had a thought. why not have your choice of sing played as you make your entrance to the recpetion instead?

SOrry about your nan

hughjarssss · 15/09/2008 18:34

Hi everyone, just got back. Haven't had time to catch up on thread but I wanted to post, I'll have a good read of it when I'm less tired.

Wedding was Fab!! The weather was absolutely perfect. It rained all week but saturday was glorious sunshine.
The ceremony was beautiful and conducted by a really lovely lady. Our photographer was great fun and I'm really looking forward to the photo's. My dress was great although I had problems with the wrap - the less said about that the better! I had a simple hand tied posy made by the local florist.
After the ceremony we went back to the chalet and had champagne and I had laid on a traditional cornish cream tea. I thought it was fitting as that's where we were. I brought handmade scones from the local baker and homemade jam and clotted cream. Champagne was gorgeous (I made sure it was very cold T42!)
We didn't want to have a traditional cake so we brought a chocolate cake from the local bakery and they personalised it for us.When we reserved it, we told them it was for our wedding and left our names and when we picked it up it was a lovely surprise!

Then we all headed down to the beach, relaxed with a few drinks and just chilled after a hectic morning. dd had her first little paddle in the sea helped by dp dh!

That night we all went out for a lovely meal and a very late night!

For us, it really was the perfect wedding day

teafortwo · 15/09/2008 19:05

Sounds idyllic!!!!

Congratulations Mrs Hughjarassss

x x x x xx

teafortwo · 15/09/2008 19:13

smq - I don't know what your beliefs are but I believe that your Nan lives on through you and your children. So in some way she will be there on your wedding day! A year is forever and hardly anytime at all. Thinking about you!

teafortwo · 16/09/2008 08:47

We will need to make a new thread for this soon - shall we give it a name with Tillyscoutmum in the title to give her a nice surprise when she returns from her holiday.

Something like....

"Tillyscoutmums brides and wedding chat thread!"

What do you think????

stretchmarkqueen · 16/09/2008 10:00

Thankyou T42! That's really lovely. I'm hoping my dad will say a few words about her when he does his speech, (his mum). She could be a bit cantankerous at times, so I bet if she's watching, she will be moaning about me not doing it 'properly'!!! I will also be wearing her ring on my ankle on the day. Sorry hughjarssss! Nicked your idea!!!

Congratulations Hughjarssss!!! Your wedding sounded perfect. Can't wait for the pics!!!

stretchmarkqueen · 16/09/2008 10:02

Good idea T42! When's she back?
