Do the amber necklaces help?DS2 is teething and in a lot of pain with it.

Salbysea · 16/05/2010 15:54

I got given an amber necklace and wasn't sure till I had a sort throat and put it on myself - not only did it ease my sore throat but it also soothed chronic jaw pain that I have too - felt warm and soothing.

my LO has had uneventful teething since having it too. I think they work, worth a try anyway eh!

Hi BabyDrip - nappinippas are basically replacements for pins - very effective nifty little gadget! Work very well. Sounds like your nappy stash is building up well!

I have two free tickets for the Baby Show this weekend in Birmingham if anyone wants them - email me on [email protected] and will send out first class tomorrow. Have asked other people to say which bags they like - but I know which ones you all like

Am teaching this afternoon so need to get shift on! Beautiful sunshine here too.

Afternoon all, been very busy. Went to a doll show on Sunday and acquired another baby called Bluebell. Bought some weeny terries and pins for them there for £1.30 each!
Lewis is 3yrs 3 months and STILL in nappies will only go toilet half the time, nursery think it's a security thing. He keeps asking where T (who passed away) is

Still getting leaks from easy fits. Have sold all but my fave LE print Itti's. Fell out of love with them.

Oh and forgot to say, bought some disposibles as was out all day sunday and Connor had a nasty reaction to Boots super dry. He had big dry sores like chemical burns over his bum. He had one on over night as I wanted to cover him in cream, then I realised it was those causing it. Put him back in cloth and vaseline as it was like peeling dry skin and he was peachy 2 nappies later.

Hi

Am new to Mumsnet as well as cloth nappies!

Wondering if anyone has got advise on how to clean dirty as in poo nappies! They are very yellow, very stained - help!

mumface · 19/05/2010 14:27

Hello mrspear, I think hanging them out in bright sunlight (if we get any) can do a lot for nappy stains.

OP posts:
mrspear · 19/05/2010 14:36

Oh thanks for a quick reply mumface - that is my other problem; i live in a flat and have no outdoor space.

littlesez · 19/05/2010 15:05

mrspear stick them on the windowsill when its sunny, or peg them to your blinds/curtains. The sun will still get them nice again. I wash at 60 too which means hardly any stains.

mrspear · 19/05/2010 15:28

Oh thanks that is a good idea - thanks

octothechildherder · 19/05/2010 18:31

welcome mrspear - window sill is good or try some sanitiser like pure or bioD to help them get a bit cleaner. Fleece liners may be better at a younger age as washes out easily and protects the nappy.

Hello Mumface - hope you are okay!

Nice to see you again littlesez

What lovely weather here! -a best nappies and little T-shirt day I think.

Connor started crawling yesterday and I am feeling the need for a WN AI2 with some gorgeous embroidery on the bum (like the green and blue one with ladybird and bugs all over) Does anyone have any advice what difference having insert snapped to front or back makes? I am thinking front is for boys.

Hi all.

Had a weird nappy washing thang going on today. Only had a few but thought I'd do them as we have major build up and one was smeared in poo. Yum.

They got washed from 10 am till 5pm! No idea what went on there, but they seem clean

Fantastic using real nappies in this weather. Has made me though as because they aren't slung on radiators and all over the place drying, I can see I have rather a lot of them!

Go for it mumface, great news about Connor

Am thinking of selling my Hollow Oak nappy and wrap, my Blueberry pink onesize, and an UpsyDaisy beach scene pocket. It's lush, it has seaguls and a desert island. Maybe my PuddlePants nappy too. Soooo hard to part with them though, even though I hardly use them.
