Photographic work being done in early feb with some other stuff so shouled look super cool Labels etc being printed. Then just need to launch them properly

Busy weekend here - day off - well working from home - but no kids DH in newcastle til weds again - food all cooked and ready for the next three days - washing done - house relatively clean so can crack on with my own work.

just bookmarking this thread - and must make sure I don't do any links to my sewing! I'm sure it's the first time I've ever had a message deleted here! oops!

BosomsByTheSea · 25/01/2010 13:27

Hi chaps,
Any tips on what's good for nights? We have ittis and a stuffable pop n gro type for daytime. It needs to be very absorbant, but not soggy next to baby's skin. Any ideas or should I stick with ittis with the extra booster? DTs are 4 months.
Thanks!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 25/01/2010 13:35

Rachel - I didn't click the link in time before it got deleted, was it for sale stuff? If not, then I don't see why it got deleted. If it is for sale however, if you could send me a link on facebook I would love to see them! If its anything 1-3 years girls anyway.

Octo - what a nightmare. Hope they get here soon!

My new BG flips didn't come today. Hopefully tomorrow! Got so much washing to do anyway so I guess at least I am not doing the prewashes too! Although actually microfibre doesn't seem too bad without a prewash...

octo/babybots....sorry I haven't been on sellers since i posted my long problem! Lol. Will be on there tonight when I can post properly. Thank you for the support though, have read replies, just trying to stay off laptop a bit during the day ATM!

4andnotout · 25/01/2010 13:37

Bosoms i use bamboo baby beehinds which are onesized nappies, they aren't fleece lined though so do need a fleece liner if lo is sensitive, dd4 has a bum like a rhino so is fine without!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/01/2010 13:39

ah found you.....realised finally that the old thread had no more room

I am inspired to get things up and running again and chase up some business...although we are in sposies due to bumble's ongoing bottom issues. bumble had the most horrendous nappy this morning; much overspill down into the legs of his babygro and a puddle of runny poo in his nappy....

Ended up cutting him out of his (getting too small) vest, rolling it all up in the babygro (old and tatty with a hole in the back) and chucking the lot....too too much to clean up

have pulled something in my foot; fell over on a toy feeding bottle and went flying across the room and faceplanted on the front of the sofa....very elegant.

got a fabulous benetton kiddy sweater in the charity shop for 75p and am eyeing it up for a pair of woolly trousers! Probably a bit too small to make something for bumble though!!

octothechildherder · 25/01/2010 13:42

bosom - what about a weenotion onesize - nice and will fit all the way through.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/01/2010 13:42

bosoms, I use either cotton/bamboo nappies with a fleece liner and a fleece wrap at night, or esle ?a Lollipop micro-fibre and a woolly wrap. The micro/wool combo is fantastic and the nappy is barely even damp in the morning. Someone esle swears by that combo as well....tree? myjob?

Babybots · 25/01/2010 13:46

Hiya All,

Its me I swear by the Nappy and wrap/ fleece combo at night! although the fleece has let me down a bit recently However i think that's a boosting issue so my fault!

Having another hectic day so will be back later ladies

Babybots · 25/01/2010 14:09

Just popping back quickly whilst DS plays.

Rachel - i was just having a think! How did you finally manage to clear up Ds's Thrush and rash? My Ds had thrush and although i thought I'd killed all the gremlins in his nappies its looking like its flaring up again just wondered what you did in the end? I think its night nappies tbh as his others are all quite new. (runs off to see what i can pinch form stock to try for nights! lol)

I didn't see the link either would love to have a look!

Octo - Hope E is ok?

Daisy hope foots better soon!

Right really must get on, have loads of washing to sort.

Byeeeeee

mumface · 25/01/2010 14:13

Bosoms My latest discovery for nights is a Drybees night fleece pocket, stuffed with a GAD microfibre and hemp. It's quick to put on so great for last minute, too tired bedtime changes. Other than that I am a Holdens landing Bedbug and WeeNotion Night Notions fan, with wool or fleece longies/shorties/ soaker.
Octo can't wait to see some of your latest new products coming from Golly Gee Baby!

BosomsByTheSea · 25/01/2010 14:19

Thanks all!

Please will you tell me more about the fleece with wool outer. The fleece I've tried doesn't seem very absorbent at all - and is wool waterproof? [dim emoticon]

thebluefoxategreensocks · 25/01/2010 14:24

jenny: yes, it was dresses for sale . I've listed stuff on DaWanda, Folksy, and Misi. Will send you a link on FB.

babybots: Yes, we battled rashes for a good while with Clement - and he kept getting a rash coming back as soon as he was in cloth again. But I think the later rashes weren't thrush, but that he became sensitive to wet cloth next to his skin. We were using paper liners because he is allergic to fleece liners and fleece pockets (make him go red). The rash kept coming back just below his tummy, where the folded area from the booster on his Tots Bots was, so I think the rubbing of damp cloth next to his skin was making him sore. He has very sensitive skin, and my clothing against his face makes him go bet red!

Anyway, once we switched over to GreenKids and Bumgenius pockets (which both have suedecloth inners) the rashes went away and haven't returned! Well, he did get a bit of rash about 2 weeks ago when he was sitting in his carseat for too long without having his nappy changed!

But as for night nappies, I could only get the Bedbugs clean enough by using detergent, but that makes my boys eczema flare up (esp Benjamin) so I can only use my soap flakes mix for washing nappies/clothes, and that wasn't enough to get to the core of the Bedbugs and rid them from ammonia build-up. So I had to sell them on (once they were stripped and washed in detergent, of course! LOL) Benjamin is in disposables at night, and Clement does perfectly at night with a Bumgenius v3 (the extra inch of PUL down the front of the inside of the v3s mean he can go all night with no leaks/wicking). Usually I stuff with a hemp Wonderfuls inserts and a 1/2 of bamboo terry square, both are soaked by morning but no leaks. But last night he was in a BGv3 with 1/2 bamboo square and 1 microfibre insert, and it wasn't even totally soaked, so might try that again tonight. And his skin is lovely & ok with the BGs overnight. I think using pockets all the time means I'm able to get them totally clean with soapflakes, since we don't have any thick nappies to clean - just flat inserts and mostly thin microfibre. (I do find the BG microfibre inserts get build-up a bit more easy since they're thicker tho.)

But hope you manage to find something that works! Rashes aren't nice!

mumface · 25/01/2010 14:27

The fleece/wool bit is the outer. It's water repellent (wool is treated with lanolin) and breathable so a lot of wee evaporates aswell. It doesn't sound like it will work but it does. Microfibre/hemp/bamboo/cotton are the nappy or inserts for the fleece pocket.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/01/2010 14:48

Ah, the wool is magic bosom . Not waterproof, but it allows the wee to evaporate as it is infinately breathable. It needs to be lanolized regularly, but doesn't need washing unless it starts to get stinky or it is damp in the morning. I haven't tested mine to the extremes yet though and re-lanolized before they got to that point. Others are much more woolly experienced than me.

The fleece nappies I use are Lollipop microfleece which I find pretty absorbent.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/01/2010 15:37

bosoms, I can lend you a lollipop micro and a wool soaker if you want to give it a go?
