New thread. Last one too long!

Well I went down to the GP at 830 this morning and got the girls in at 11.

They both have a chest infection and are on antibiotics.

Dd2 had a temp of 38.5 when we went and the doctor said that's why she may be being sick.

Fingers crossed that the antibiotics clear it.

Thanks Chaotica I hope you waved at the firemen for me..

Evening All

Sorry to hear about the chest infections, GYA. I hope the antibiotics kick in fast.

I'm just doing damage limitation washing because DD was sick just as I said a final 'goodnight' (which turned into rather a long goodnight as I changed the bed etc). Luckily it wasn't too bad as I saw what was coming. I just hope she isn't sick again. (Don't know whether to keep her off nursery tomorrow - there's a possibility of firemen and the DCs would be heartbroken. I suppose I'll leave it to see if she's fine in the morning. (Just my luck that DP is out tonight. I seem to remember that he was out the last time DD got sick and ended up in hospital... ... do I see a theme developing here??)

Otherwise we had a great day and went for a long walk in the cold wind (too cold to stay in the playground as planned) and jumped in a lot of puddles... I discovered the hard way that I have holes in my wellies

Kaybeeand2boys · 26/11/2009 01:03

Hi
sorry to hear about all the illness around at the moment. I am the only one ill in our family, i have a horrible cough that actually made me sick yesterday

Some very good news in the Kaybee household this week, DH got that job he went for....it took them ages to come back to him so we'd give up hope! So he starts in a week and a half - whoopeeeeeeeeeeeee . Christmas no longer cancelled here. It's come just in time, it's just over a year since we moved here, and the inlaws are coming at Christmas and would be on at him about moving back to London etc if he still had nothing permanent. At least now we can try out life here earning a normal wage and see how it goes.

DS1 has started at Kindergarten and is there now, while Ds2 naps in the pushchair in the hallway. I actually have a few mins to myself, it's unheard of!

LOL at your 37 returns to bed Tracyface. When DS1 first moved into a bed he once got up in the night for about 2 hours, over and over and over I put him back in bed....felt like about 100 times. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. DS2 will be in a cot until he is 5 . The two of them used to go down to sleep nicely, with a few mins of mucking about. Lately we have seperated them as they are both being so naughty it's driving us crazy. DS1 now has to go to sleep on a kids fold out sofa in our room and then DH transfers him into his bed later. Otherwise the two of them just aren't getting enough sleep as they still wake at 6am even if they haven't gone to sleep till 8pm. Sigh.

Got chores to do but can't make any loud noise so think I will just have a wee lie down on the sofa till DS2 wakes........

Afternoon Ladies

Aaaargh - my laptop just died! So I might be scarce around here for a while (or else on here all the bloody time as usual on DP's computer ).

Hope you're all OK.

That is so good about the job, Kaybee . Now you can give the move a proper try and quit worrying about whether you can stay. Have fun once the first pay cheque comes in.

Chaotica · 27/11/2009 16:00

DS moving into a big bed aswell soon. We'll be sharing sleepless nights...

girlsyearapart · 28/11/2009 08:12

Can I join in? I have three DC's, including 2 under 3 so it can be a real handful, especially as DS2 has ASD.

Chaotica · 28/11/2009 22:31

Hi MarioChristmas (great name btw) - nice to meet you. I don't know how you manage with 3...

And evening all Don't have time to post much as it's not my computer Might try later... Hope you're all having a good weekend.

MarioChristmas · 30/11/2009 11:16

Thanks for the welcome Chaotica. In fairness my eldest DS is 8, and he is fairly easy going, so it isnt as difficlut as it could be. My other DS is 2.9 and my DD is 14 months so the small age gap has caused a few problems

Chaotica · 30/11/2009 12:37

Morning All

(Computer working again - DP is a genius! )

MarioChristmas - I have a 17m age gap so I sympathise (this thread started out as 2 under 2 once upon a time when we couldn't cope at all).

DS is busy being 2 this morning (which is his job) - he has refused shoes, clothes, coat, put his hat on backwards, burst into tears when I've had to pretend to leave him, sat in puddles and ignored me when I've pretended to leave him , shouted 'I don't like CM' at our lovely CM, insisted on wearing one pink glove and made me late for everything.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! (OK - so I know it could be worse.)

girlsyearapart · 30/11/2009 12:37

hi everyone..

recovering from yet another rubbish night of non sleep.

urgh.

more later.

Morning MarioChristmas I have a 12 months gap between mine and it does get easier I promise

GYA - bad night here too. melissa up at 3 and 5 looking for her Sindy dolls who hadnt gone anywhere and were in bed with her all along.

She is not sleeping well still and up every night but now i dont think its santa she is afraid of but the dark. We bought her a low energy light bulb to see if that would work but actually I still think its too bright in her room and is stopping her from sleeping properly.

Can anyone reccommend a nightlight that is really dim?

My two are ill again this time cough and cold and Isaac still has upset tummy. but waiting for his results back?

We put up our Christmas tree yesterday because Melissa was so excited but now im regretting it already because half the baubles are being kicked around the lounge by Isaac. We normally do it Dec 1st but I figured another few days wouldnt hurt ....now Im not so sure

MarioChristmas · 30/11/2009 13:32

GYA - I can sympathise with you, DS2 hasnt ever had a full nights leep, and to top it all DD has a bug at the moment which has meant her waking up every 2 hours or so for the last couple of night.

tracyface · 30/11/2009 13:42

Forgot to say Kaybee - well done to your oh getting that job - thats such good news and I hope it works out well for you.

Off to find a thermometer that actually works. we have three but all saying different things, not sure if Melissa is just addicted to calpol or really needs it.

MarioChristmas · 30/11/2009 13:54

Oh Tracy, I wish we could have our tree up already, but DH wont let us until atleast next saturday. He is such a Scrooge!

On the plus side we are off to see Santa this Sunday. I cant wait. Im really getting in the Christmas mood after being a bit meh about it up until now.

girlsyearapart · 30/11/2009 16:30

thanks. went for a run earlier so i'm feeling a bit better. have dd2 asleep on my lap - excuse the rubbish typing.

They both slept really well when we were out sat night dd1 at my sisters 7-7 dd2 at my mums 730-630 and dozed in mums bed till 715!

last night for me

dd1 awake at about 10pm burbling on about door being shut.i had just fallen asleep too which makes it worse.

dd2 awake from about 12-2 having done a poo then not wanting to go back to sleep.

glad they slept well for their hosts but i just feel like it never happens for me!always one or t other awake. grrrrrrr.

rant over.

xmas tree going up at our house at end of the week- rule is after dhs birthday which is in 2 days.

tracyface · 30/11/2009 18:57

Ok I can moan again now both of mine are really poorly again. found a thermometer that worked not that I needed it to tell me they had temperatures as both went steadily downhill this afternoon with bright red cheeks, red rimmed eyes and runny noses. No sickness yet so hopefully not swine flu.

Melissa worse than Isaac as she was asking to go to bed at 5.30 as was asleep by 6,

Isaac much more energy but still managed to get him off by 6.30 so hopefully they will sleep it off till morning

Rang docs about Isaac's poo who said its all clear of bugs which is great but does not actually tell me why he is still having awful nappies? SO I am going to have to put it down to teething but its been over three weeks and I am going to have to replace most of his pj's and vests as they are so stained its a bit of a joke as I cant tell if he needs changing from his vest as they all have poo stains!

Jewelsandgems · 30/11/2009 21:41

Welcome Mariochristmas

Tracy sorry to hear about the sickness. My two are fine right now, because of the move Freya has not been at nursery so no bugs. Nut my friend's 1 year old has got swine flu, so hopefully she will be ok (am actually thinking aboit keeping Freya off nursery will new year, just to we can be sure of a bug-free christmas.

Kaybee well done ot your DH on the job and very happy you can now expand your life there and look forward again

Chaotica glad your laptop is feeling better w

GYA sorry to hear the sleeping no better for your DCS and must be very annoying for them to be good as gold for other people!! That OR they are the same for those other people, but they just don;t want to admit it

Well girls we have moved into the big house. I am sitting in the study (get me emoticon] and we are having a cheese and wine party for the neighbours (they are increidbly curious, so we thought may as well just invite them over) The girls love the new house. Honestly, what was I worrying over? I am bloody glad I can drive out here though, but am fed up of bloody high-powered cars/4x4s being up my arse on bendy swervy roads at least at my old place is was vans, here it is other mums and their businessman husbands!

Not much else to say, got one over on my mum the other day but will tell you tomorrow

night ladies

Evening All

Poor you, Tracyface (or poor LOs) - DS has not been having a good day (even the CM commented and she can usually deal with anything!), and DD is rather sick too.

But then the thread title did say 'snot till march'!

GYA - I think you just need to send your DDs away if you want some sleep. Come to think of it, DS is usually sweetness and light when I'm away

girlsyearapart · 30/11/2009 21:45

Good plan book me a ticket too. If you go with BA my friend can get us an upgrade.

Hi girls had such a busy day, it all started out so well; went into the nearby larger village for supplies, post office etc and girls were so well behaved (and got lots of admiring glances in their little boden coats) and then I drove home and attempted to park. Well, a few days ago my DH was parking my car and pulled the handbrake up that much it snapped but he told me it still worked perfectly. Not so, and nearly rolled right into the garage of our new house. I screamed and slammed on the footbrake, but was really shuck up. My Dad came uo and took the car in to be fixed, but I am really scared to use the handbrake now!!

DH also came home with a tummy bug today, so I am hoping we don;t all get it

We have had snow today which was very exciting for the girls, and who wanted to go out and play in it, in their nighdresses. Needless to say, that did not happen

Otherwise, all quiet here.

J&G

Chaotica · 01/12/2009 21:41

Evening All

Wow - J&G congratulations on the house. You must be glad to be moved. at [get me emoticon] ...'in the study', indeed. I'm just this moment sitting in the drawing room before dinner (to be taken in the dining room of course ). OK - so it is the drawing room as the DCs draw in here (on the wall occasionally, although not if I can help it).

Just had bed-time-nightmare - the days I work are far too much for the DCs, even though they don't go to bed later they are always tired (and DD yelled all the way home from the CM's as I told her off for trying to get DS into trouble...). It is finally peaceful, and I hope it lasts.

See you in the Bahamas, J&G. Maybe we should have a thread meet there

Had to work today in a room with no heating - I am still cold now. Maybe wine would help.

girlsyearapart · 02/12/2009 15:49

Wine is ALWAYS helpful.

I'm freezing but have to go all the way up to the loft [another get me loft conversion emotcion] to turn the heating on.

Dds actually both slept through last night thank the lord. Though dd2 was up for the day at 530.

Not sure if that still counts as night

J&G- know what you mean about the car. Mine broke down in the multi storey the other day and cost me £132 to fix.

ps- DH nearly had Andy from CBeebies in his cab the other day but he took the bus instead.
