New thread. Last one too long!

OP posts:

Have a hug, J&G and take your time. It sounds like you did do the best thing for you, although it's completely normal to have 'what if' type thoughts too. Right now, I think I'd do the same as you if I was accidentally pg, but it's never an easy decision.

Jewelsandgems · 05/03/2010 16:23

Hi guys

Well I have been having a very busy week and have a childrens party on sunday at a soft play place. And the birthday is not a little boy so I am having lots of fun looking at boy things (having 2 girls, I have never had the opportunity!) so any ideas? Dinosours? Super heros?

Other than that all quiet, have Izzy an appt at doctors for that lump on her neck and DH and I are going out saturday night for a few drinks

How are you all? xx

tracyface · 09/03/2010 16:37

Hi Everyone, sorry had computer problems and been a busy time with both my little ones birthdays on Wed and Frid or last week so it was a bit of a wirlwind birthday week.

THey had a joint Princess and Pirate birthday party on the Saturday for friends although all the friends are really Melissa's age but I am on a mission to get Isaac some friends of his own by this time next year!

THey had a nice time though and I was really pleased when everyone went home but at least thats it for this year now.

I went to loads of trouble theming the whole thing and then forgot loads of things like pirate ship jellys in orange skins and princess icecream cones and then I left them in the fridge and freezer .....der!

Still they had plenty to eat and the cakes where a big success even if I was up half the night making and decorating them. Melissa had a pink sponge princess castle and Isaac had a chocolate treasure chest.

Being a princess has however gone to her head and she has been a real nightmare with major tantrums most days so we need to get back to the real world so Im being strict mummy this week and finding it really hard work.

J&G - big hugs from me too , its the right thing for you then thats all that matters x
Isaac loves anything trains if that helps present wise for the party?

Anyway off out to do a school run will catch up later

Hi Ladies

Tracyface - your party sounds amazing. I haven't even thought about such things (I am filled with fear) but at the moment DD has one friend (or possibly two) so I can probably keep things simple .

DD is exhausted as she's been at nursery and softplay, but is steadfastly refusing to try and have a nap (despite being so tired that she took her top off to go to the toilet not her trousers...). I have a fun evening ahead.

Chaotica · 12/03/2010 17:12

BTW Can I have a prize? I just got both DCs to do something quickly that they'd been difficult about by threatening to eat all their chocolate

(They don't have much, but... )

tracyface · 15/03/2010 21:19

Chaotica - thats such a good idea only i think Id just send Melissa over the edge if I threatened to eat her sweets.

We have had major meltdown tantrums here today because of a late night out for mothers day last night so off to bed early tonight which will of course result in an early morning.

Both of mine have been getting up about 6.30 for a week or so. IT used to be closer to 8 so I am a bit confused as to why they have changed. It still hasnt helped me be early for playgroup either. We are always late.

Off for an early night - had a very stressful shouty mummy day

Chaotica · 17/03/2010 16:59

Hi All

Just went to a farm with nursery (taking both DCs even though only DD goes there). But now I need a nap. The piglets and the lambs were cute, but DD couldn't have cared less. I was glad I took DS as he thought they were sweet.

He did keep putting his fingers in his mouth though (new molars...) so I'll be the one in A&E if the handwipes didn't work...

Tracyface - I'm expecting earlier mornings from DS now spring is here. (And he now has a bed, at last! So that means he can climb out of it when he wants.)

tracyface · 19/03/2010 16:48

Hi all , not sure Im brave enough to be visiting farms just yet as mine are both ill and grumpy again and dont want to catch anything else!

Just the usual runny nose and cough but making them both very temperamental . Thank goodness its the weekend and I can share them with their daddy!

Have a nice weekend all

Chaotica · 19/03/2010 17:11

No major illnesses here yet

Have a nice weekend.

Chaotica · 19/03/2010 17:12

...I shouldn't tempt fate like that, should I?

tracyface · 25/03/2010 14:50

Did the dreaded lurgies get you Chaotica?

We are still ill infact worse than last week and I feel rubbish , what with both of them couching all over me it had to happen and I also have conjunctivitus from one of them too so feeling miserable, thankfully no school runs for a few weeks may help me recuperate .

Hellish tantrums here from Melissa - she is starting to wear a bald patch on the bottom stair - trying not to be shouty mummy!

_Where is everyone ?

Obviously everyones children are being little darlings and no need to report on here

Chaotica · 25/03/2010 17:43

Hi All

No diseases here, just colds and the dreaded arrival of molars (in DS's case). He is nightmare boy for much of the time and I am fed up with the tantrums (so you have my sympathy, Tracyface).

DD OTOH announced that she's leaving home and not coming back, so I don't know whether I really belong on this thread anymore. (She is four soon...) Fortunately, when she last said it there was a police car right next to us so I said I'd tell them...

tracyface · 01/04/2010 12:41

Oh Dear Tantrums not improving, but fortunately its just Melissa and Isaac has yet to really throw a proper wobbly altho now he is two I guess its only a mater of time.

we have just been on an easter egg hunt with little baskets that we a made and decorated so that was lovely but now melissa is being greedy and trying to share Isaac's so as usual it turns into an arguement.

Dont you just love toddlers!

Have a nice easter, everyone x

Jewelsandgems · 03/04/2010 19:32

Hi girls

Sorry not posted for ages.

Had Freya's birthday party last weekend and was a knightmare. The children enjoyed it, the parents ate the childrens' food, the boys were whinging little mummies boys and the girls were total angels. Thank god that's over with!

Otherwise, we have our jobs for holiday tuesday (hep A) and I have a cold and cough. Think girls are starting with it today as well

Everything else all fine really, the clocks going forward have just meant e all wake later and the girls arn't ready for bed at 7pm so I am going to make a real effort next week to be up and about at 7am [good intentions emoticon]

A few of the children ar Freya's nursery have had a sickness bug (so why are these children even near the nursery FFS?!!) so I am really hoping we don't get it.

Have a great easter y'all and now Freya is 4 does that mean I am struck off this thread?

J&G

tracyface · 15/04/2010 16:38

Chaotica & Jewels of course you are not struck off this thread!

Please dont leave me to cope with the tantrums on my own

As usual we are all still fighting off a cough which only seems to come on at night time but makes everyone a bit tired and grumpy the next day. Roll on the sunshine and warmer weather

Quite looking forward to the easter hols being over and getting a bit of peace while they are at nursery.

Jewelsandgems · 22/04/2010 14:10

Hello Tracey and Chaotica,

Well I do hope the cough has subsided now tracey, I know it is very annoying for all (the cougher and the coughees!)

Well we are spending the day at home today, we are trying not to spend any money as we go away next week but that is no easy thing. DH bought the girls trunkies the other day, so that was god knows how much and then he tells me to try and save m oney!!

All is fine with us, Freya is now firmly over her sickness bug except that now I am obsessive about it comng back/us getting it. There are lots of bouts of hand-gelling here as well as lots of hoovering and cleaning (which is different for me, because although I do get around to hoovering once a week and the usual stuff, I am by no means a domestic goddess at the cleaning stuff) I did mention to her nursery teacher that I would really appreciate it if any children came in with any sign of tummy upset that they be sent home and she gave me a look as if I didn;t know what I was talking about (although when in queue for the nursery it is rather common for one of the mums to say 'ooh james has been sick all night but he seemed ok this morning so brought him'. Well, I told her that if I hear any mother saying this, I will just take Freya back home. There is no way I am risking 3 weeks in asia being bloody sick!

How is everyone else?

And the dreaded question....do you think our little thread has ran it's course? No one seems to join us anymore and those who do only do for a few posts and then no return and I thought were very welcoming?

Anyway girls, hope you are well,
J&G

tracyface · 22/04/2010 20:31

Hi Jewels - Glad Im not talking to myself then ,

I have just been very busy as started childminding so not much time to do imprtant things on my pc mumsnet anymore.

Isaac been poorly and may have to have an op on his thyroid so been pre-ocupied with that poor mite, but I fear you may be right about this thread as I feel a bit silly talking to myself

I hope you have a really lovely holiday - im very as our holiday is not till july.

Come and tell us how it went x

Chaotica · 22/04/2010 20:43

Hi Ladies

Much as I love talking to you, I too don't seem to get the time too much (added to which I feel like I'm just repeating the same old moans over and over again). So much as I love talking to you guys, I don't get into posting so much these days. I know that Freya turning 4 doesn't actually change things, but I still feel that I'm moaning about her turning into a teenager rather than just being a toddler anymore...

Tracyface - I hope isaac is OK, poor guy. Is the op serious?

Jewels - Have a lovely holiday. I am and very glad you weren't going last week.

Chaotica · 22/04/2010 20:44

Actually, it's amazing we've kept these threads going so long with toddlers on the go

girlsyearapart · 24/04/2010 07:29

Hi everyone

haven't posted in ages. Now 25 wks with dc3, all going fine and wishing away the next 15 weeks so I can have (a beer) my baby

The dds are fine just over 2.5 and 1.5 now. Feeling a bit guilty some days about having a 3rd as they play so nicely I don't want to spoil it..

OP posts:
Jewelsandgems · 25/04/2010 08:48

chaotica we have done keeping this thread going all this time. I think we are all lacking time now, with the nursery run and the younger DC approaching that nursery age too. We find out if Freya and Izzy ar into the school Freya is currently at (we are now out of the catchment area) and the teachers are being very tight-lipped about it and I happen to know they have not been so tight-lipped with other mums so I am taking that as bad news

GYA wow your pregnancy is going so fast! I know it is an unknown having another to 'upset the apple cart' but it won't take long for your new DC to be included in their lives, I sure you will be fine (infact hats off to you GYA! It is something I am not prepared to ever find out! My neice is pregnant with her 3rd and she is very because she feels like she has her life back, and then it's all turned upside down again)

We are off on holiday next weekend so, just incase of sickness bugs, I am not taking Freya to nursery next week at all, or soft play. I am sure she may get a cold on the plane but that I can cope with - the sickness I cannot!

Chaotica · 27/04/2010 17:14

J&G - hope you get the school. Our teachers aren't allowed to talk about it, but we got the one we wanted (although we did go for the nearest one, so I might have been if we hadn't).

GYA - wow - time is really going quickly. It's good to know you're doing well.

Jewelsandgems · 29/04/2010 22:01

Hi ladies, have had a manic day jut getting ready for the bloody holiday and I almost wish we'd have booked to go camping in the UK!

I am currently having problems with Freya going to bed. I mean, she goes but then she plays in her room for ages, and the other night we found hr in Izzy's room trying to shake her awake because she wanted to play with her! (which was kinda sweet in a way) So, I have told her she is not allowed her laptop at bedtime, and jut her leapfrog books so lt's hope this worked better.

Any of you finding your older one is getting too young for bedtime? Are you keeping them iup longer? My worry is, if we did that then Izzy would want to stay up too

Any advice greatfully received

Have a great evening y'all.
