PurpleSal - I personally think there is a market for cheaper and midrange wooly stuff, as the custom stuff can be mega £££. Yet when you factor in wool and time....I can see how the cost arrives where it does. Some places use very exotic and therefore expensive dyes and dying techniques.
Maybe it could be an arrangement with the lady where it is knit to order? Then there is no risk!
