mine stink every time????? re lanolise???

LatinDAISYcal · 01/10/2009 21:29

Quick question...I have been looking at other sites to get ideas for mine and on one in the Nappy FAQs there was a bit about stripping nappies using washing up liquid? Either by hand, using a scrubbing brush all over the nappies or put the washing up liquid in the powder drawer of the washing machine. Is this right? I've never heard anything like it before....and can only imagine soapy suds filling the kitchen in short order

Can't afford a trisokas either

Hi all

I have come here to confess - we used dispos today as I was out all day, and DD started to poo after being constipated for 4 days. SHe filled 3 disposables and was changed once of a grass verge and once on the car seat - so in a way I'm pleased I went with dispos today. The car would have stunk and these were serious horrid poo [her special milk hasn't agreed - so we got some even more special milk today]

I have some size 2 fluffles I can list rusmum - they are bn and nippa version

TheNattyTheHippy · 01/10/2009 21:33

my disana only smell if they havent been washed well enough.
i buy 2 sizes larger to cos i wash quite vigourously, i use them at night only and find the amonia smell can really get into them.

daisy, never heard of that before!

TheNattyTheHippy · 01/10/2009 21:35

lol @ confession

ellen had a day like that last week, 5 nappies filled to the brim in one day, i actually had to scrape them with a spoon to get it off then rinse cycle on their own before putting the rest of the load in.

newspaperdelivery · 01/10/2009 21:49

Yes I think thats what I would have been faced with. Whilst trying to shop for parties etc! So am overall pleased with my management - I could have used washables, but choose not too. So it's not a reflection on them [my precious ones], more on my own laziness.

rusmum · 01/10/2009 21:50

we had a day likt that today!!! boak boak!!

Octothechildherder · 01/10/2009 21:56

Quiz time: Why have I got a pile of books sitting on a nappy cover? (jabula can't answer this!)

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 01/10/2009 21:59

Rusmum - how are you washing them? And what in? I have never had woolies smell after airing and TBH I don't wash very often at all as we have quite a few woolies to rotate.

Elouise went to bed with a huge bum tonight as she keeeps waking in the night and wanting milk so have had to mega boost to cope with it all. Its Talia waking her up crying so its not her fault.

Octothechildherder · 01/10/2009 22:06

I have opted for a boosted ellas house bumhugger and onelife popper cover

LatinDAISYcal · 01/10/2009 22:14

I've not put bumble in cloth since the other night. By the time bedtime comes around I'm sooooo frazzled (especially after the day I've had with DD whinging from lunchtime until bedtime) that it's easier to not have to think and just bung on a sposie. Must try harder though

wrap under a pile of books? Is it a wooly (does that have one L or two?) wrap that isn't sitting flat?

TheNattyTheHippy · 01/10/2009 22:18

crease in the embroidery? or smething to do with a nappy patch?

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 01/10/2009 22:21

Have you done like one of those transfer things? That Iron on? Or even glue(?) on?

In fact, that gives me an idea - do you think iron on transfers would work well on fleece wraps?

newspaperdelivery · 01/10/2009 22:24

wrap under books...you ironed it in a moment of maddness and it melted, so you have used an old puncture repair kit and the books are pressing the rubber patch down while the glue dries?

myjob - your DD is gorgeous!! Nappies look fab too! The wipes are the same as mine, except I have the pink ooga booga. Love em.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 01/10/2009 22:47

Anybody got any ideas for new thread names? We are nearly full again!

newspaperdelivery · 01/10/2009 23:50

Lovely pics myjobismum

'Please sort out the postal strikes - we need our fluffy post!' would be my suggestion as the post has slowed to a trickle where I am.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 02/10/2009 00:49

Sounds good!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 02/10/2009 01:30

Does anybody know how to set up a facebook group? I can't find the options for it? Want to do one for Nappyweb but can't find the link?

LittlePants · 02/10/2009 07:30

How about "General Chat for Impatient Fluffy Post Addicts"

newspaperdelivery · 02/10/2009 09:56

Not a clue Jenny, fb is a total mystery to me.

Put Lewis in a BBH minkee AIO double boosted with hemp last night & it was successfull I have a sick boy off school today
I am chomping at the bit for when Puddlekins gets all their instock stuff on site (5th Oct) I really hope they have a blue chicks sidesnap
Am also tempted by matching wipes but have enough now & like to keep different brands of wipes in separate piles so could get confusing when sorting out washing
