MrsDimples, Good Luck with the Councils! the government has withdrawn funding for nappy incentives last year i think it was so the councils are having to fund any schemes themselves. We just about managed to get ours to support a nappy alliance!

I've just noticed the similarities between Tirsokas & Hahtuvahullu side snap pocket nappies coming soon at Jabulla. Both Coolmax inner, same fabic design. They look almost identical. Are they the same design under different brand names?

Mrs Dimples - check with Real Nappies for London as to who is doing what - it changes all the time!

The new bags for october are now listed and will be sent when they arrive- if you have reserved one, please order now through site.

myjobismum - will put a BG aside - not going to sell all in ones through site anymore as focusing on two parters as think they are the best and most leak free - but do have some left.

No fluffy post came - off for a curry!

Octothechildherder · 30/09/2009 12:24

They do look similar - sure jabula/littlepants will clarify!

mumface · 30/09/2009 12:25

Myjob I love wool Ecobubs, I ended up getting 3 for Lewis for nights. I've never known another pocket that lasts the night and they are really breathable, he wore one last night with plenty of Sudocrem & the nappyrash looked much better. They are quite expensive though.

hello {shakes hand due north] I'm in Yiewsley

thought hillingdon would have talking out of their behinds - have other issues with them too {rants to self} - so partly cos we are really skint & partly cos I'd like extricate every single penny out of them, I really want to push this. I'd feel satisfied with a fiver!!!

MrsDimples · 30/09/2009 12:40

Babybots what's a nappy alliance?

octo I contacted RNFL when I wa pregnant & all they said was that Hillingdon wasn't part of it, which I knew anyway. Maybe I should try them again & see if there is any support regarding trying to get the councils to support cloth.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 30/09/2009 12:47

MrsDimples - I was thinking about setting up some sort of list of people who would be interested in cloth nappies if there were an insentive scheme to help mums get started. Do you think it might help? They told me that there isn't enough interest in cloth nappies to justify the cost.

And if you hear of anybody looking for a nappy advisor locally

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 30/09/2009 13:08

For anybody who doesn't know our area - me and mrs dimples are litterally a 10 min drive from each other! Lol. Small world

Jenny I think it's really easy for them to say there isn't enough / any interest, when they say that to everyone . . . & there's bound to be less interest if there is nothing there to start with, (iyswim). If they had done a trial & promoted & there was no interest it would be a different matter.

I wonder what the take-up rate in areas like Hackney are, where there are a lot of poor familes & a lot of urban trendies?

Hillingdon is definitely a borough of 2 halves, with, generally speaking, the southern half being poor working class & the northern half affluent middle class. You only have to look at 'baby' classes on offer to see the social economic distinction. My thoughts re hackney are, if the poorer familes take up the scheme for saving money, it would be a useful arguement on top if eco / landfill - not even sure Hillingdon landfill, will have to check.

Exciting Weenotions news Mumface
Bad Weenotions news Myjob

mumface · 30/09/2009 13:50

Finders, keepers

Babybots · 30/09/2009 13:52

A nappy alliance is made up of nappy sellers and the conucil in our area. We run trial kits that we all contributed too and a weekly clinic with the councils backing ( a tiny bit of funding and advertising!)

So its not an incentive but still helps people looking to use cloth.

Theres a link on the home page of our website if you want a look.

MrsDimples · 30/09/2009 13:55

quick question

I need to raise a cheque for my weenotions order, does any know who to make the cheque payable to & address to send it to.

Have emailed WN but there is a delay in getting a response, (I'm not moaning),& want to get it off ASAP, (away next week .

thanks

Jabula · 30/09/2009 13:57

Octo/mumface,
I don't know - I noticed the similarity between them, although Hahtuvahullu's are cheaper. I'm going to ask my supplier. I don't think it is the same one...

mumface · 30/09/2009 14:01

The address is under Contact us on website. Try ringing 07968258699. I rang yesterday and someone answered straight away.

MrsDimples · 30/09/2009 14:13

thanks Mumface done

Jenny I think a list of people would be great.

So far health visitor & trainee & Dr hav been shocked - impressed - want to know where I get my cloth from . . . they no nothing about it . . . is it any wonder there is no interest? / why would they know when council isn't interested . . .

mumface · 30/09/2009 14:24

My health visitor looked at me like I was mad and just said 'How do you cope with all the washing?' I cope just fine. I actually enjoy washing my nappies!

Octothechildherder · 30/09/2009 14:38

I have spoken to WN today - they are def in lol - I have WN

Babybots · 30/09/2009 14:44

See that is shocking really as there was a big article in the BMJ a couple of months back about how all medics should be encouraging the use of cloth! and yet still they have no idea and turn their noses up!!

Babybots · 30/09/2009 14:46

Octo i want one!

Are you doing nappies as well as wraps?
