I just had a look at your profile for the nappy patches Octo (gorgeous kids) and am liking your subtle hints at what you do and your first pic .

Good for you 4 ; I kind of feel the same with bumble. I cut down on feeding DD from about 10 months as I was two months pregnant with bumble and as well as feeling utterly rough and nauseous everytime I fed DD, it was blinking painful and my supply took a really early dip but I kind of regret it as I was hoping to feed her until she wanted to stop. But, at least I have the cahnce to do it again with bumble, and it seems even more important to me now as we got off to a difficult start and had loads of problems.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 29/09/2009 19:48

mumface - I thought the same thing about the holes.

My MIL is very anti BF but I have learnt to ignore. When I stopped BF DD1 at 8 months she said "Good! About time"

LittlePants · 29/09/2009 19:56

Fluffy Post to die for! My Tirsokas order has arrived! I've spent the whole afternoon getting them listed , and am soooo excited!

Will try to get some piccies on FB now!!

Mumface I used to get a cream at the chemist called AntiPeol. It was absolutely fantastic for really sore blistered bums, once you got it on, as it was REALLY thick. It never damaged my nappies either, although it might be a good idea to use a flushable liner, if you can still get the cream. I don't even know if you can still get it, but it was used for burns, so makes sense that it would be good for nappy rash. I never used anything else if my LO's got sore bums.

mumface....egg white for the nappy rash!!! natural, cold and soothing, doesn't bother real nappies and forms a totally impervious barrier if you let it dry into a film before putting the nappy back on.

Just whisk it up a bit and then dab on gently. Provided you don't put the same finger back in the bowl, you can keep it in the fridge for the next time.

Octothechildherder · 29/09/2009 20:04

They are really for two parters, fleece or wool covers - am going to try on a pul cover to see what happens! They are much much bigger than I thought so some will fill the whole back of a nappy.

Octothechildherder · 29/09/2009 20:08

mumface - I have some samples of Pot of Gold baby balm - email me your address - would be good to know how well it works. Have been trying it on ernie - smells lush and lovely texture - he has been getting a rubbing rash on his inner thighs when he does a poo and it goes red very quicly - think it is citrus fruit causing it - have tried it but metanium seems to be doing a better job.

LatinDAISYcal · 29/09/2009 20:48

LittlePants; those nappies look gorgeous. what is the outer material? is it fleece or minkee?

mumface · 29/09/2009 21:08

Thanks Octo, have E-mailed you address. I was just looking at that cream earlier aswell

LatinDAISYcal · 29/09/2009 21:14

Octo, can I trouble you for a sample as well

DD has horrible nappy rash with large oval patches at the tops of her thighs. the only thing that works reliably for her is no cloth nappies and cleaning her with an emollient cream. I'd like to get her back in cloth as I hate the bin filling up with sposies; especially during our current refuse collector strike (almost four weeks since my bin was emptied )

ellielou02 · 29/09/2009 21:33

rachelinscotland its in perth and the forfar tartan co have designed a tartan to celebrate homecoming in scotland and I think its going to be a tartan nappy will try and get one tomorrow if thats the case. Think the tartan is going to be applied to different things as well though
daisy 4 weeks thats not on am for you.

LittlePants · 29/09/2009 22:34

Latin the outer is a VERY soft PUL. The inner is CoolMax. And they are the softest, lightest, quickest drying things you can imagine!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 29/09/2009 22:56

Has anybody used nature babies fleece wraps? I love fleece but find tots bots too thin for my heavy wetters. But WN/UD etc are all great and we never use PUL at night - always fleece or wool.

LatinDAISYcal · 29/09/2009 23:02

lol at the tartan nappy.....I know wool is good, but tartan might be a tad scratchy for delicate bottoms

Get photos at the least ellie

TheNattyTheHippy · 29/09/2009 23:25

i have so much fluffy post thats lost in the system

im so annoyed with postal strikes

my WN order was dispatched today, im a tiny weeny bit excited about it

mind you i probally wont get it till next month at this rate

jen babybots octo i like the look of those soakers, what sizes are you getting in? after an XL

quick question for everyone. if there was a real nappy shop (ie a shop where you could walk in an browse nappys) in london would you go and visit it? if so which area would you say would have the highest concentration on nappy users?
there is a reason behind these questions...

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 29/09/2009 23:27

I will have all sizes in

Babybots · 30/09/2009 08:23

Ditto.

Morning All

Natty, We have given this much thought recently too. I would go and visit it if i was in the area, i dont know that i'd go out of my way (as in drive 3 hours just to go). Don't know much about London areas tbh so couldnt suggest really. Im not sure that the margin on the nappies would leave much in the way of profit after all the overheads are paid and accounted for, you'd have to sell bloody loads. Well worth costing it all out though - Good Luck!!!!

Was just reading back about all your Bf stories, I didnt come accross any one who wasnt supportive of me feeding, other than the odd old granny in resturants etc!

Im waiting for Fedex with mega fluffy post i hope!!

LittlePants · 30/09/2009 09:06

Oh Nooooo!!! I forgot to activate the sale price on the Tirsokas last night!!! Hope no-one's tried to order!! If you did, and changed your mind, it's working now!
JennyPenny I've got a small red NB fleece wrap in. If you want to have a look at it or try it email me

LatinDAISYcal · 30/09/2009 10:32

LittlePants I am sitting on my hands to stop me from ordering one of your trikosas

I'm having an issue with one of my ebay buyers at the minute but if everything works out I may just order one.

Octothechildherder · 30/09/2009 10:47

Natty - I have bebeco here and LOVE going in! There are Green Baby shops in London but not sure where or where would be goodplace to have one.

No fluffy here yet

mumface · 30/09/2009 11:10

Littlepants I tried to order a Tirsokas last night but got thrown when the discount did not show and then paypal did not appear.
Have sent order now, hope I have done paypal correctly (It's Large hedgehogs & slimmastuff insert)

LatinDAISYcal · 30/09/2009 11:18

I have a few shops who sell fluff alongside other stuff round here, but no dedicated nappy shops. I've never been in any of them though as it's too tempting.

Clean Green Nappy have recently opened a shop in Hebden Bridge, but they were web based for years before opening up the shop once they were well established I believe. I've also not been there as it would definately be too tempting!!! I think considering overheads etc a bricks and mortar store would be a bit of a risky proposition especially in the current climate. Are you thinking of opening a shop Natty?

ouch grouchy baby....later.

MrsDimples · 30/09/2009 11:40

There was a stall on Greenwich Market that sold nappies, not sure if it's still there.

Yes I would visit, I live in Hillingdon & when I was investigating nappies it would have been a god send. My council doesn't do any incentives. I've been meaning to post on here for ages & pick your good folks brains for ideas / info to try & get the council to support cloth nappies financially.

When I rang the council & spoke to the waste deartment, the woman I spoke to said she'd worked there for x years & it was the 1st query they'd had.

Another new Mum I did ante natal yoga with is using cloth, so I now have an ally (sp?)

jenny Is this an area you are planning to cover with your sales? I noticed you'd said Bucks & London.

All thoughts / directions would be much appreciated.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 30/09/2009 11:56

You are in hillingdon!! Where abouts? I am only in New Denham! Right next to Uxbridge! I have had discussions with hillingdon council who say they have no intentions of starting a nappy incentive! I am JUST in bucks - which give £30 per child.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 30/09/2009 11:57

Sorry, but over excited as I never meet anybody local using cloth! Lol

mumface · 30/09/2009 12:00

It's Green me that goes to Grenwich market. I am too far away from London, am in Leicester.
