4, is DH listening to his family about weaning? If they are getting to you, you can always tell them that the WHO say until 2 these days! or failing that, tell them to mind their own! My MIL is making "still feeding him yourself" noises at me every time she sees me do it. I just smile beatifically and say yes in a way that makes it clear to her that I'm not being drawn into a conversation about it. I know her questions will ramp up a gear after he is one, but at the end of the day, my baby my rules as it were. DH makes the odd bleat about getting his "boys" back, which I assume he is joking about, and if he isn't he knows better than to make an issue of it as in a him or BFing situation the BFing will win hands down!!
Sorry getting all soapboxy there, but it irritates the hell out of me that some people think they can comment on other people's parenting choices.
I would love to do midwifery, but fear I'm waaaaay too old. I did look into it when DS1 was a baby but I was a single parent then and it would have been impossible with childcare the way the course worked at the local college as it was done on a block release basis and involved 12 hour shifts at the matenity hospital.
