She not due for 10 weeks so we will see!

PPs what is trolling??

lollipop do you think lovable worth a try??

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 21:25

My big bruiser is fast growing out of all his size 1 nappies ; he is only ten weeks!! I've already had to go up a size in wraps, so I have several size 0 pristine wraps (tots and nature babies) to put up for sale.

I had him in a diddy diaper earlier and it was like little hipster briefs, so he got put in a size 2 tots instead.

lollipopmother · 09/01/2009 21:32

Rusmum - I love the Lovables, it's a microfibre fleece pocket, nippa fastening. I think they're mega absorbent, they're not particularly bulky but they're not slim either iykwim, but they're perfectly fine for daytimes. I think it might depend on the size of the baby though, DD is 13lb and they fit fine with loads of overlap at the waist but they're not massive in the rise, just normal really.

Sorry to hear of illnesses.

Hope the nocturnal babies get it turned round soon.

4andnotout: Not exactly sure what the nappies are like! LOL Been toooo ill to be able to think about them. Woke up yesterday morning vomitting as well, and by evening my 3yo daughter and husband were both vomitting. So we're a mega ill household at the moment. Was in bed all day & night yesterday and only just up for a few minutes now. Trying hard to keep liquids down, as can't have myself dehydrated when pregnant. But not very easy to get rest when you have 2 toddlers to tend to, and sort out once they've vomitted, etc. Thankfully Benjamin is lots better today, with enough energy for us all!

But I do think the nappies are a bit better after both a rinse & long wash with bicarb...not perfect, but better. However, for the moment he's in disposable with Airflow cover on top, as can't really cope with washing out nappies, much less making sure they're clean/stink free after being washed!

ilovelovemydog · 10/01/2009 12:40

Daisy Tell BBM I said hello.

Ugh - am struggling with potty training DD. She does brilliantly, and then has massive accident - poor thing. She gets really upset about it, so I am wondering whether to give her a break or continue?

And at the same time, DS is managing to leak at nighttime - even boostered, he leaks.

Am wondering if I could, um, booster his willy strategically?

treedelivery · 10/01/2009 16:24

Rachel - hope it passes soon you poor poor thing. Sip water if you can. I had this back in Nov and ended up in antenatal for a few nights for a fluid drip. If you notice your wee decreasing dramatically get yourself seen cos honestly it's sooooo hard to shake off dehydration when pregnant. ANd you feel sooooo shocking [much more than non pregnant] I feel for you!!

lollipopmother · 10/01/2009 16:28

Dog What nappies are you using for nights?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 10/01/2009 18:38

treedelivery: Thanks! Yes, I know - talked to community midwife yesterday and she thought if I was still having trouble with fluids today I should go to hospital to get checked over and possibly need drip to re-hydrate me. However, wasn't really sure how that would be possible, with husband and 2 toddlers all ill, vomitting etc at the same time - can't really leave them, nor get to hospital! But thankfully I'm doing a lot better today - no vomitting since about 2am, though runny bowels started today...so still have to watch loss of fluids. But I think I'm on the mend - I hope!

ilovelovemydog · 10/01/2009 20:28

Lollipop It's been all of a sudden that he leaks, or rather the nappies do! At night he wears:

  1. Bum Genius
  2. Tots Bots Flexitot
  3. Tots Bots Cotton
  4. Lollipop Bamboo

(all seem to leak, but Flexitot leaks less )

lollipopmother · 10/01/2009 22:44

How old is he, I wouldn't trust my DD in a Tots cotton for more than 4hrs there's no way she'd make it through the night with one. Are your wraps ok in the day?

swampster · 10/01/2009 22:47

I booster DS's willy strategically - I thought everyone with boys did? And I wouldn't dream of using a BumGenius at night though I love them for day.

I have found my Holy Grail of night nappies: Baby Beehinds bamboo with a lovely fleecy Stacinator on top!

swampster · 10/01/2009 22:48

Also wouldn't trust a Tots cotton at night - not tried the other two.

lollipopmother · 10/01/2009 23:08

Swampster - What do you do for fleece insert for your Beehinds? I'm thinking of cutting my own huge ones because the normal size ones seem tiny in it.

lollipopmother · 10/01/2009 23:09

Do you use the same nappies during the day and they don't leak? Have you been using creams or anything that might have coated the nappies?

swampster · 10/01/2009 23:18

Lollipop I gamble on DS not having a poo in the night and he never does (never say never, tonight could be my lucky night) - the Beehinds are quite fleecy in themselves.

MatNanPlusAbroad · 10/01/2009 23:19

Get better soon the Rachel household.

MatNanPlusAbroad · 10/01/2009 23:21

Swampster explain strategic boostering of willy please

lollipopmother · 10/01/2009 23:25

Swampster - Doesn't he feel wet though without a fleece liner?

swampster · 11/01/2009 00:15

MatNan Just LOADS of extra padding to the front of the nappy . Baby Beehinds have that extremely looooooooong snap-in booster which I have folded in three to the front with the little snap-in lying flat from back to front as general reinforcements. I used to stick a bamboo and a microfibre booster between nappy and wrap to the front of the nappy and they were always quite sopping by morning but I find the nappy does the job without.

Lollipop I find the bamboo of the BBs is so fleecy it does the job of a fleece liner - his bum really isn't especially wet, not like it would be in an unlined cotton towelling nappy.

Having said that, he is two-and-a-half and getting interested in potties and I think he is peeing a lot less at night now.

lollipopmother · 11/01/2009 00:56

I am still so undecided on night nappies. Really I want a fleece pocket because I get nervous that the fleece liner has slipped and DD does get a bit red if she's left wet for ages. I'm using Pop-Ins which are good, I've got the Beehinds which is great (rarely on the 2nd hand market tho), I've been using Wonderoos but I'm selling them and I've tried a Real-Easy which was really good but I'm just held back by the fact that I'm always suspicious of the Wonderoo legs and the Real Easy are the same. I've tried a Fluffle, can't stand the stench, same with Bumhuggers. I've heard that Dry Bees Nights are good but I've never seen any 2nd hand.Hmmm, i'm bored of worrying about night nappies, I just want to find one I'm really liking, or at least, more Beehinds.

rusmum · 11/01/2009 10:46

lollipop i just use sandys at night!! with microfibre cloth- never any leaks- very wet though in morning - but dd never sore.

ilovelovemydog · 11/01/2009 10:58

Lollipop DS is 10 months. Like Swampster strategic boosting... was wondering how to, um, wrap the willy....

Tots Bots Cotton are definitely not a good night nappy -- the Tots Bots wraps are quite good.

Will try boosting Sandy's tonight - (the colored ones! )

treedelivery · 11/01/2009 19:53

Bought more microfibre cloths today. Lilac ones from Aldi. Very pretty colour.
Also tried to convince TKMax they wanted to sell the tots bots day pack for a fiver not £25 [they've been there ages] but no dice. Not giving up though....
39 weeks in 4 hours. I think a labour would be reasonable now!

So are we liking the new tots bots wrap? Looks like a ME to me a bit, and I really have failed to bond with the ME prints. Lets all email them and tell them to cheer their patterns up.

ilovelovemydog · 11/01/2009 20:07

Yes, like the new Tots Bots wrap. Doesn't cut off the blood supply in DS legs
