Do we have an OU support thread and if not, shall we?

Cos studying with the OU, esp around kids, is soooooo hard

I am preparing to do S205 (The Molecular World). I cannot get my head around thermodynamics. I need about 2 hours just to sit with NO DISTRACTIONS but between 3 HE'd kids and a partner who works daft hours I am not getting a chance.

Also I cannot for the life of me remember WHY I am doing this

I'm sure I can forgive you for your wee lapse, especially as you didn't post on the thread elling! Now come on! You can do it. In the immortal words of HSM.... "Get your head in the game!"

Well done leo. I hope you finished in time for the midnight deadline...

leothelioness · 28/05/2009 07:41

Ah balls I just remembered I didn't mentioned scaffolding anywhere...oh well!

ellingwoman · 28/05/2009 19:19

lol Juney

I'm just looking in for some sympathy

I'm only halfway through part 3. It's taken me 6 hours to write 350 words about Schema. I'm just SO pathetic. I'm now going to attempt to write something insightful about Reggio Emilia. Eek!

Do you think you get points deducted if you mention the word 'facilitator' too often???? It seems like every sentence I'm mentioning facilitating/facilitator/facility. Even I'm fed up with it!

How are you doing Leo?

juneybean · 28/05/2009 19:21

Hmm is there another word you couild substitute for it?

bet you can't wait for a nice glass of wine!

ellingwoman · 28/05/2009 23:41

leothelioness · 29/05/2009 13:30

Hope its going well elling.
I sent mine off a 23.59 yesterday I reckon it was a load of crap but its the best I could do now I need to catch up on some sleep and start organizing our internationnal move which is just over 10 days away.

ellingwoman · 29/05/2009 14:51

Oh well done leo!! A huge pat on the back for you!

I realised this morning just as I was settling down to start the final part that I hadn't even read the last study topic

Anyway 500 words to go. Last night I filled in all the references for the work I've already done which will save me time tonight. DP buying a bottle of Baileys for us to swig when we collapse in MK tonight.

Yippeeee!

juneybean · 29/05/2009 19:16

EW, I didn't really read any of the study topics, I just glanced over them when I needed a reference

ellingwoman · 29/05/2009 20:26

I don't feel so bad then!

I've just finished!!!!! Minor snag - I haven't got an envelope so we will have to go via Tesco's - I hope they haven't sold out!

I've just looked in the kitchen for the first time in 3 days....... I knew I shouldn't have! Good old dp is out there clearing away mountains of old food and crockery while I'm sipping Baileys.

It's such a relief! I just hope I pass. Mine's a load of crap as well and the mawkish comment I put on the end about Every Child Matters.... I expect whoever reads it is going to want to throw up!

ellingwoman · 29/05/2009 20:27

Meant to say - thanks for all the encouragement ladies!

juneybean · 30/05/2009 00:08

Well done for finishing!! I was worried mine wouldn't get there but have seen "your examinable work has been received" on the OU website today so a bit releived.

Do you live in Milton Keynes or quite close?

MarsLady · 30/05/2009 11:24

Well done ladies! I hope you get great results.

juneybean · 30/05/2009 11:40

Thanks Mars!! I know I said I didn't like OU but I've already been looking at new courses it's addictive!!

There's one I want to do but it's over £1000 :/ I wonder if I could get some help!

Molesworth · 18/06/2009 17:00

We're all very quiet in here, but then I suppose it's exam season. Good luck to all those sitting exams this week!

Has anyone here done DD305 (Personal Lives and Social Policy)?
