Is anyone else working on an essay over the next couple of weeks?

In my second year, and planning on being organised this year with working towards essays etc (as in not completing it the night before!).

So, I've got an essay to be in on the 17th November, and started to work on it today.

Anyone else wanna join in this thread? Either for a moan, if your stressing about it, or just for a kick up the arse?

I need the biggest kick up the arse ever.

I still need to get started properly on my dissertation.

jofeb04 · 30/10/2008 15:47

How is it going with the dissertation? Thats the one part I'm not looking forward to next year!

What is your topic on reikizen?

jofe- not going very well ( I have hundreds of things to do, plus im on placement-argh!)

Mhamai · 30/10/2008 15:56

I've no deadline as such as I have deferred, having said that I need a proverbial kick up the jacksie support thread to get the ball rolling so count me in too.

I have 5 third year essays, a proposition essay, and two module essays from fourth yr to complete.

brightwell · 30/10/2008 16:06

I'm working on an essay that has to be in on Nov 3rd...so far I've done the housework, sorted out the airing cupboard, carved 2 pumpkins...and managed 256 words of the essay.

tiredemma · 30/10/2008 16:07

Procrastinating Brightwell...You cannot beat it.

jofeb04 · 30/10/2008 17:51

I did two hours this afternoon, and planning on another hour tonight.

I find it hard enough just being in uni and with the family, let alone having todo a placement as well!

The problem with me is planning and actually doing

OH dear brightwell....how many words is the essay meant to have and what is it on?

mhamai that sounds a fair bit of work...that would make me gulp, too....

well, I jsut handed in my first essay on Tuesday and had a terrible nightmare last night, in which I dreamt it was so terrible, that they told me not to bother coming back (even though this is only a diagnostic essay and it doesn't even get marked, lol)...
haven't got any essays as such do...however, have to work on an Exhibition piece of my occupational journey from infancy to now, whilst doing it I have to keep a reflective diary. With the exhibition piece I have to hand it a A4 sized sheet explaining my project, and a few weeks after I have to hand it an reflective essay (based on the reflective diary), and whilst this is in the first person, it still needs literature to back it up and references, etc....so, whooopie...
the exhibition piece has to be in by the end of november and the "essay" (1200 words) has to be in beginning of december....and in december we also have to hand in a Moving and Handling Leaflat....all good fun....
lol....

brightwell · 31/10/2008 18:27

My essay is a 1,000 word draft, it's got to be in on Monday, full essay due 10th Dec, so far I'm up to 618....I really need to get a move on. I've been spending too much time on MN. Hope everyone else is a bit more motivated.

FreakyLadyFrightALot · 31/10/2008 18:42

well...it's going the right direction...what is that about draft essay...is that where the tutor will look through it and give you pointers as to where you stand and if you are on the right path, etc.? Our Uni does not offer that...we get a tutorial for the whole cohort and then may get another opportunity to ask questions and then that is it....and well, you have to hope for the best, lol!

MarsLady · 31/10/2008 22:05

Well my assignment is due in today. I have to send it off into the ether by midnight! I'm 550 words short and keep thinking that a lovely glass of wine would put me in the mood. In reality that lovely glass of wine might put me to sleep as I'm rather tired.

So... I need to put MN down for a bit, save the wine to celebrate the end of the assignment (study day tomorrow) and kick tiredemma up the proverbial!

MarsLady · 31/10/2008 23:43

Done! By the skin of my teeth!

brightwell · 01/11/2008 06:28

Well done MarsLady....I'm now having a bit of a panic about mine....hence working on it at this hour! It's about learning & teaching styles, yes it's so the tutor can see that you are on the right track.

MiaWallace · 01/11/2008 10:14

Have to write a 3000 word essay by the 10th. Hope to get at least half of it written this weekend while dd is with her dad.

Haven't even started it yet mind. Will be back with progress updates throughout the weekend to keep me on track.

Cupofteaplease · 01/11/2008 15:46

Me! I have 2500 words due on Tuesday- have I finshed it? Have I buggery!!

MiaWallace · 01/11/2008 16:14

I've only managed 250 words so far but have done loads of reading today.

Will try and do a bit more this evening
