Is anyone else working on an essay over the next couple of weeks?

In my second year, and planning on being organised this year with working towards essays etc (as in not completing it the night before!).

So, I've got an essay to be in on the 17th November, and started to work on it today.

Anyone else wanna join in this thread? Either for a moan, if your stressing about it, or just for a kick up the arse?

Got 1000words done, only need another 1500!

What are you all working on? My essay question is: Is psychology a science?

I've got 2 due in December. Need a kick, not even done the research/watched the films...

I can watch films, it's what you have to do after it that is the probem

Been really lazy last two days and haven't done any work on my essay. Really need to get some done tomorrow.

I have to write about how ECM has impacted on a vulnerable group. I'm writing about the educational inequalities faced by Gypsy and Irish travellers.

Interesting topic, just need to get my butt in gear.

I'm 1300 words into a 3500 word essay. Am just struggling with what to right, have exhausted essay plan that tutor approved so obviously my details is too sketchy. Have been plodding away with other stuff...like pressure sores and tonight shall be renal system!

Argghh I meant write, brain has turned to mush!

I'm planning on doing some more tonight once the dc have gone to bed.

Aiming to get it done by the weekend (it needs to be handed in on the 17th), and then use the final week for touching up .... or just leaving it!

My plan for the weekend is:

Sat: Finish research and WATCH. THE. FILMS.
Sun: Start first drafts of one or both essays.

I will stick to it.

Hi can i join? I've got a 2000 word essay due on the 17th and so far I've got about 500 words. The topic is the NHS Connecting for Health IT systems (1st year Computer Science).

Hoping to get it finished by this weekend as I need to revise for a test next week, then it's my birthday on the 14th. I really don't want to spend my birthday weekend doing an essay

well im still stuckon ethical proposal... keep having to rewrite as questionnaires are copyrighted! buggers! havent even done much research for other essay due on 17th. need to have this done by tonight so i can get it signed and then off to hand it in as am away for the weekend seeing my brother before he goes off to a war zone!

Well, I just finished marking 11 of them. God, I don't know what's worse - writing them or marking them.

Anyone want a hint (esp in humanities)? Establish your argument, sustain and justify it. Obvious, I know.

Don't ramble and avoid pure commentary (i.e. in law, just re-telling the circumstances of a case) that your lecturer already knows/should know - be analytical.

MiaWallace, btw your topic sounds really interesting. I am in Australia and recently in the news there was reports of 'bands of Irish gypsies' (not my words - why are only gypsies in 'bands'?) roaming rural NSW trying to sell dodgy generators. By all accounts, they arrived as a family group and took off around the country. They even stopped at my sister's property.

It just seemed so odd to me - so out of place! Not relevant to your paper I know but made me laugh a bit.

It is an interesting topic tinto till I have to go into all the legal and social policy side of it. Then it becomes very dry.

I'm on a mission to finish it by Monday morning. I've got 1750 words to write and will be back every couple of hours to update on progress (keeps me on track).

I've had my draft back, so far so good. Just got to expand it into a 3,000 word essay. I don't intend looking at it this weekend. The dc are at their dad's next weekend so I'll concentrate on it then. It has to be submitted on/by Dec 10th, so I've got awhile....I know, famous last words.

Completed another 600 words this morning. Going to take a break for lunch and then get back to it. 1150 words to go!

Sounds like your doing well with it Mia, I've got 1500 words, so another 1000 words (my concern is that I have far too much information!).

Going to carry on working until 1pm, have lunch and watch the rugby, then carry on afterwards (if I haven't had too much cider then!)

I have a 3000 word essay to do by end of th month and finding it so difficult to find time, between work, placement, course days and family life, thee just aint enough hours in the day. Am a 2nd year MA student.

ok i down 1 to go...just got 3000 words to write on impulsivity as an aspect of criminal behaviour! because this is something that you would discuss in real life! lol!
so i am now off do the cleaning so i can get started the minute that Ds goes to bed and then all day tomorrow, otherwise i wont be able to resist cleaning the windows instead of essay writing. due in monday and i need to have it proofread!

Finished essay, now working on presentatin for Monday about Character Education.

Then have 2 computer exams the following week.

Think I'm just going to sleep through Christmas
