In my second year, and planning on being organised this year with working towards essays etc (as in not completing it the night before!).

So, I've got an essay to be in on the 17th November, and started to work on it today.

Anyone else wanna join in this thread? Either for a moan, if your stressing about it, or just for a kick up the arse?

How's it all going? Hoping to finish mine tonight, to hand in Monday.

Would love to be able to do nothing tomorrow

So far not so good....managed 50 words, had great plans for today but just can't get motivated. Will try again tomoprrow. Perhaps I need the deadline to be looming.

FairLadyRantALot · 15/11/2008 22:58

oh dear bright...

well, I have pictures of my little project as it is right now on my profile...
I am zero artistic, so, am rather proud of my efforts, you see....
but still got plenty to do on it, sigh....

MummyJules · 16/11/2008 07:55

How is it all going?

I have SO much coursework, it's unbelievable, on top of working and looking after DD it's just so difficult. Plus the fact that I am crap at writing essays and have my dissertation to write over Christmas!

jofeb04 · 17/11/2008 16:56

Handed in my first essay for this year in this morning.... starting on my second essay tomorrow which needs to be in by the 5th December

brightwell · 17/11/2008 18:26

Well done, 5th Dec will come round very quickly. My essay is due in on the 10th....perhaps I need to be running out of time to get motivated.

jofeb04 · 17/11/2008 18:31

running out of time always helps me

well done jofeb04....

I am planning on finishing my project/plus a4 page by the end of next monday.

And than I will have studyweek from beginning of december anyway....so, that will give me time to do my leaflat and the reflective essay by the 11/12....well, will hand both in on the 11th anyway....otherwise I would have to drive up there on both days!

MiaWallace · 17/11/2008 22:00

Gave my presentation today so that's another assignment out of the way.

I've now got 4 weeks to write an essay and 2 portfolios.

FairLadyRantALot · 18/11/2008 21:46

worked some more on my exhibition piece today....am almost there now wih all those little things that will go into the House, phew...

jofeb04 · 19/11/2008 19:47

Sounds like your both doing well.

Starting my second essay (on ethics and diversity of all subjects!). At least it is on a case study though, so much more directed than the last one.

Planning to start my essay on the weekend.

Need to critically consider the purpose of education from both a philosophical and sociological perspective.

4000 words to write.

Will begin research on weekend. I have till January to complete it but got other deadlines at the same time. Would like to have very little work to do over the Christmas holidays so I can spend some proper time with dd.

MiaWallace · 22/11/2008 13:05

Anyone else working on essays this weekend?

brightwell · 24/11/2008 16:37

I should have been, my teaching session is planned for this Wednesday, hopefully I'll be able to get into the right mind set after I've done it. The submission date is Dec 10th but I've only got 3 full commitment free days left.

mycatis · 25/11/2008 14:53

Hi folks (I'm new here, please be gentle)
I have 2 research proposals due on the 5th december, both 2500 words, so naturally I'm on here
sorry to say but I am glad to see its not just me that does this!
what are people studying?

MiaWallace · 25/11/2008 15:44

Hi mycatis

I'm studying for a degree in Education studies. I'm in my second year. Loving the course, despite getting increasingly annoyed with the 18 year olds whispering all through lectures

mycatis · 25/11/2008 16:44

Hi mIa, oh thats not good, I did my highers at college previous to this course and it was full of teenagers chattering

jofeb04 · 25/11/2008 19:03

Hi mycatis,

I'm on my second year of Psychology and
Social Welfare (joint honours).

Mia, I am also getting sick of the younger students!

I'm really struggling with this essay though. It is based on a case study, and I have to incorporate how Equality and Diversity comes into play.

OP posts:
mycatis · 26/11/2008 08:57

joint honours?? wow well done you! I'm doing an honours degree in social science and that is enough for me am in my 3rd year. I hated second year, how are you finding it?

MiaWallace · 26/11/2008 13:09

What did you hate so much about the second year mycatis? Have things improved this year?

The reason I ask is because I'm really struggling this year, not because of the course, but because I'm finding it difficult to get along with people (I'm the only mature student left on my course)

jofeb04 · 27/11/2008 08:01

Going to be working all morning on this essay - hopefully!

Mia, it must be hard to be the only mature student on the course. Luckily, there are a group of us on mine so we all understand those moments of not being able to get in due to the children etc.

I'm really struggling with this one. Wanted to hand it in on Monday as well (not due though until end of next week).

Going to concentrate on it today.
