Oh God, absolutely

Only FREAKS don't do that sort of thing

Next question, please

misdee · 20/10/2008 17:37

[misdee is a freak]

Monkeyblue · 20/10/2008 17:37

no
I take DC school bag before they go to someone elses.

mehgalegs · 20/10/2008 17:38

There was a very heated thread on this not long ago. It seems to provoke outrage in quite a few people.

I'll admit to it. I worry about DS2 and DS3's reading and want to see just how far behind they are.

twinsetandpearls · 20/10/2008 17:38

would not even enter my head.

A friend did this and read that the childs parents and complained about her DS.

nooOOOoonki · 20/10/2008 17:40

I started a thread about this once. I was the only one who was prepared to admit to doing it......!

misdee · 20/10/2008 17:46

dd1 is 'average' in her reading. so am not overly concerend and wouldnt compare her with other kids.

if anyone checked dd2 bookbag they would think their child was massively behind. she is in year one and working at the top end of year 2 level.

Monkeyblue · 20/10/2008 17:46

Jeez had realised most people did this

Glad I take the school bags off DC before they go for a playdate

Sycamoretree · 20/10/2008 17:46

I have absolutely no idea what would make a parent do this. I'm totally . How is it any more ok than going in an adult's bag?

It's a total invasion of privacy - you should stop, immediately. Bad, bad women.

notnowbernard · 20/10/2008 17:47

Odd thing to do IMO

Would be a bit like opening someone else's mail... it's private and you don't do it

Eunicewonderstuff · 20/10/2008 17:48

This is such a made up thread.

Let's see it zip up 300 threads by bedtime shall we.

andiem · 20/10/2008 17:48

no no no
all of you who do need to get a life

notnowbernard · 20/10/2008 17:49

I think OP is a wind-up
(almost a carbon copy of the lunchbox thread)

But judging by responses people obv do this!

Mandelbrot · 20/10/2008 17:50

For those of you who do, why not just ask the parents?

Is anyone prepared to admit asking a child to tea purely to nose through its bag to see its reading level etc?

Countingthegreyhairs · 20/10/2008 17:50

You are kidding aren't you. Aren't you? Wouldn't dream of it.
