Sorry to hear the Group presentation didn't go so well...but I am sure your Essay will do better....and I assume then teh two grades will be joined to get the final grade for the work?

We will provisionally have our grades (for all assignments, the Exhibition piece, the Essay and the leaflat) by the 5th of January end to the Examboard, so, the proper grade won't be back until much later, I suppose....they only sit once a year, don't they?

The Moho is a brilliant book, I ahven't read all yet, and it is the model used at my placement...also need to get a Hand Therapy Book....and read up about Hand anatomy and physiology...
will be meeting my Educator soon, proper date has to be set still...looking forward to that....am all in all really looking forward to my Placement...still not sure if part time or full time...as originally my placement was meant to be part time, but this Educator works full time...not sure what to go for, lol...

I go back on 5th January, and I'm panicking about my grades ALREADY!

But things just seem to be getting worse. Today is DD's birthday. But I ended up hitting a car this morning, and no idea what to do. I gave the lady my mobile number, she's another parent from the school, one I don't know really well though. But I've been crying my eyes out cause I've been under a lot of stress and have no idea how I'm gonna pay for it or what to even do

Awww tammy, don't cry. Hopefully it'll all be settled out of court, the MOST important thing, is that you're OK, and your DD is OK (if she was with you) Huge sent your way.

Tammy - I second what Xmaslollipop said. That is the most important thing. Can understand how upsetting it is for ya though - we all have to juggle so much and this sounds like the final straw for you. Have you sorted it now?

Lollipop - try to forget about it over xmas if you can (easier said than done though I know). What is due back in Jan?

ChristmasFairy - thanks for the positive words. Still not got essay back but it does join up with the presentation so fingers crossed! I met my educator today and had to do breakaway training at the same time. My educator was also doing breakaway and I had to partner her, so within an hour of meeting her I had strangled her, grabbed her clothes and had to feel where her sternum was to poke her in it really hard (in between boobs). Was because it was so physical and I wasn't expecting to end up partnering my educator. Nothing like a bit of assult to create a good impression hey?! She seemed really nice though and I am now feeling a lot more positive about my placement. Yay!!! We have the same thing with the exam board and marks have to be ratified. My lecturers have said though that they don't know of anyone who has had a paper marked down by the board so try not to worry too much.

JDB - how are you getting on with your after placement evaluation?

I calmed down after a few hours. Yesterday was just a really bad day. My DP lost his bank card, got stranded in London at midnight because his train was cancelled, and DD threw up a lot because my mum had thrown her a tea party which involved DD eating just cakes lol.

But today's been better. It's mine and DP's anniversary, but it sucks because he's had to go to work so I'm sat here on my own. But we're going out on Saturday to see the Lion King which will be very good.

But as DD didn't go to school today so haven't been able to sort out the insurance details yet, hope to do that tomorrow. Has to be by end of week as they break up for holidays Friday.

But so far I feel like I haven't really done much towards my three projects written work even though I've only been off a few days. So I'm hoping I can do some tomorrow and start making the most of my time without DD round though I also have a lot of stuff to do before Christmas. Wish I was feeling more organised! Lol.

LV - I'm sure your grades will be fine. I'm not sure how it works for everyone else, but we were given a week or so to work on any parts of our work that could do with improvement.

Well...am feeling rubbish...coming down with some sort of bug...was/am meant to visit my best Unifriend, but not sure that will happen....if I feel shite there isn't really much of a point....but would feel bad to let her down...thing is, she lives about an hour away....and I hate driving in Leicester on a good day, never mnd when I am feeling like poo....

Thankfully I passed my first essay, not a stunning grade but a pass the same. Have next one due in the day we get back after xmas.

Lots of people of sick. If it's not the flu, its the D&V bug thats closed a lot of wards/hospitals locally. I'm hoping I can avoid that.

Have started Block two of firat year which is very strange. Don't feel so clueless now and feeling a lot less anxious about uni.

Lol it has been a bit of a crap week.

Feeling better about things now though. DD is finally off school so I can just hibernate now hopefully lol. The woman took my insurance details so hopefully it's gonna be all sorted. I saw the car today and it looked less damaged than I thought it was, but still costs a lot to replace the bumper eyeroll Never mind, hopefully sorted soon. Going to London tomorrow to see the Lion King with DP and DD so looking forward to that!

Fairy, were you able to go out? How you feeling now? I've had a cold all week that is driving me nuts! Lol.

Well done JDB. And glad to hear you're more settled. We start our second semester third week of January once our assignments are in. I was working on one last night for three hours, and by the time I found the information I needed, I only wrote one page! Hope the others are more speedy! Lol.

yeah went to see my friend and had a lovely time...I still had a bad cold but felt well enough in myself....! My friend made a lasagne from scratch and it was delicious...she lived in Italy for some years....so, probably got some helpful hints from tghe locals....

Today I done lots of x-mas shopping and I also went to meet my Educator, and she is lovely! She also mentioned, that it would be possible to go with OT's from other departements for a bit, which will be nice and give me some idea how things are run in other areas, like the Falls Clinic and possible paediatrics and mental health, who knows....not that sure what departements OT has there, to be honest....!

tammy....oh, Lion King is meant to be fab....have a really good time!

hi. just seen this. any of you student nurses using taylor's model for reflection??? i'm on a 1wk break on my INP placement and i have 2wks to do the reflections and all the bits of paperwork as well as studying for exams on the 5th and 13th. never had to do a reflection before so am a bit lost. doesn't help that i've been placed on a really busy surgical ward so haven't had time to get a look at anything. having a ball tho!

Fairy, glad you had a nice time. And oooo lasagne from scratch. How lovely. And glad to hear your Educator was nice and about the OTs too Lion King was brilliant. I've seen it four times now ha, but my DP and DD haven't yet and they both loved it. I was so surprised as to how well DD was during it. I was expecting her to be moaning by the interval lol.

Also, I'm writing a report, that's got a 1000 word minimum. By the looks of it, I know I'm gonna go over that, but wanted to know how much over you guys thought it would be okay to go?

hmm...tammy....as far as we were told it's word limit, well, jsut that, and word count you can go 10% over or under.....but no idea about word minimum, sorry!

And wow, at you having watched Lion King 4x already...but glad your dd was so great and that her and your dp also really enjoyed it!

Only 10%? Because by the time I had finally finished my report, the word count was 1500, 500 more words than the minimum lol. I might have to see if I can condense it. I have emailed my tutor but I'm not sure if he'll get it over the holidays or not.

And yeah I'm such a big kid lol

Well....I have done nothing over the past few days...well...nothing Uniwise, lol!
Have a friend and her daughter coming.
My friend has just started her Early childhood study degree....she got lots of assignemtns to do....talking to her made me realise just how lucky we are on the course I am doing....

Had nightmares about my handed in assingments last night....just stupid ones...shudder....

Anyways, has everyne survived X-mas? We had a lovely quiet x-mas....well, on Boxing Day ms and I both were violently sick, but other than that it was all good!

Its so hard to get motivated over the holidays isn't it? I feel mmy brain has shrunk!

Well...luckily the only thing I really have to do before placement in mid January is do some reading, and once the Kids are at school I will have plenty of time for that!

I'm very naughty, my mum has taken the dcs out so i can get on with things, I have an entire report on antioxidants and disease to write by next week, but so far I only got round to ordering a book about it from amazon Are you nursing?

I'm back on Tuesday. I still have so much to do, even though I've been working on my projects every day! I'm hoping I'll be more on top of things now I've seen how much work is entailed when the next semester starts! Managed to cut my wording down to 1050 words, and that will just have to do! Lol. Got another report to do, 1500 words, but can't start it yet as it's based on another piece of work I need to do which I haven't quite finished yet.

The holidays are going by far too quickly!!
